Harrison closing it out.

But it would be smart to keep a washed up LB (probably the greatest in team history I grant you) who had also become a cancer in the locker room....again this is smart?

I think the point is that the Steelers should have kept him and gave him snaps throughout the season. If they do that, he doesn't act out to get out.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?

How do YOU not know that because of the way JH was treated, resulted in the way things played out? He KNEW he was in the twilight of his career, and would not be the starter, but he still should have been used in the games. As said before, Tomlin caused this whole thing.

Not to mention, he would have probably been an asset during the year.

LMAO at all the Jarvis Dupree apologists here - he is ******* worthless, getting OWNED one on one with TE's now! The weak *** blubbery stiffs on the D line need to go too - cut them all and hire waiver wire scrubs - the DL couldn't be any worse - they are ******* pathetic.

Fire Butler!

Fire Tomlin!

Clean house!

Performance. Come on Jarvis is laughing at that. He made a play or two. This thread is acting like he won the game. ******* hysterical. Dilly dilly

Steelers could have used a "play or two" against the Jaguars.

Good for him.
Another pats Superbowl thanks to Tomlin

A tiny piece of me won't be upset if the Pats***** win the SB and Deebo gets another ring.

it has to be SB or Bust for Tomlin in 2018. For the first time in a awhile, you can say safely say he is on the hot seat. Too much talent to go one & done in the PO with a healthy team at home and then to have your players and coaches late or no-shows during playoff weekend. Bullshit. No one, not any fan or owner, can justify this hot mess.

I agree with this. The Jags exposed this team for what they really have been the last decade that many on this board failed to see right before their eyes. A team led by some of the best players in the league winning (in the regular season) due to pure talent than any kind of coaching edge.

Once again it's obvious that sometimes politics has more to do with who plays than talent. I'm not saying Deebo was an every down player any more but Mikey Regular Season (heretofore known as MRS) doesn't want a 39 year old player looking better than his two high draft picks at OLB. Not the first time the team kept trotting someone out there who sucked hoping that a switch would turn on at some point and not make them look like fools. (Worilds, Jarvis Jones, Jarvis Dupree, Shamarko, Limas....)

We hung 42 on the league's #2 defense but the Iggles just put up 38 on the #1 defense with a backup QB. Just sayin'.

Defense doesn't win Championships!

Defense is irrelevant, draft all offense, all the time.

WR/RB/TE/OL

The Rooneys can and will justify this (13-3 blah blah blah..regular season blah blah). Tomlin is only on the hot seat with the fans, not ownership. Its all about consistency with them.

Did you see Philly swarm to the ball and Keenan? Jax got there with the same type of smothering D and corners. NE eventually got to Bortles, too and shut down JAX O. I still believe D wins championships. If the Steelers make one stop in the 4th Q, they win.

Well, that consistency is seeing NE about to win their 6th SB while the drama continues to unfold day after day around the team.

Harrison interviewed after the game - https://sports.yahoo.com/james-harr...atest-veteran-bask-patriot-way-024849389.html

Deion - "What's different about this team, Man. Why do they always seem to be there in the end?"

Harrison - "It's not like anything is taken for granted. Every day it's fundamentals, and you know, it's just repetitive, repetitive - it's like being in the Army. You doing something so much that it just becomes second nature and you can do it in your sleep."

He also says he would like to come back and play in his 40s.

They always bragged about Watt's high football IQ. I think he could have moved to Shaziers position and
Harrison returned to OLB to finish the season. Might still be playing.

But I guess we needed all those Justin Hunter catches more.

Watt is definitely better than Dirty Red and Spence.

I don't know how long it's going to take for people to realize we aren't running a scheme that relies on blitzing OLBs anymore. The linebackers are dropping back into coverage a ton. We had 56 sacks. The most in franchise history.

Harrison had a half a sack at best. He piled on at the goal line and the strip sack, Bortles was already on his way down when Harrison jumped on.

Did you see him getting abused repeatedly when the Jags went to the outside? Grant didn't even see him when he went by a few times. Harrison has nothing to do as to why this Steelers team isn't in the SB.

It's unfortunate how it ended, but it is what it is. I was sick to my stomach watching him put on an AFC Championship shirt.

I agree with you, 81. Even Nance and Romo were trying to spin Harrison's play into being more than what it truly was. He essentially came free the one time because the jagoffs LT didn't even get a hand on him, and his run defense wasn't all that spectacular either. He had two tackles in the first quarter, I believe, and finished with three. Also, **** his bad attitude. Everyone wants Bell run out of town, but are still aching over having cut Harrison a month ago.

Just another embarrassing example of why something needs to change with the direction this team has taken the last several years.

I wont hold my breath waiting for it to happen though.

The guy wanted to go somewhere he could play. He is playing. I don't fault him for that. I hate to see any Patriot in an AFC championship t-shirt, but I wish James well.

Do I think he makes any big difference for us or for them? Absolutely not.

When interviewed a couple weeks ago he said the Pats***** were the only team that called. I don't blame him.

It's not like we ended up playing against him in the playoffs.

The sack and fumble were correctly credited to van noy on the stat sheet. James finished the game with 4 tackles.

If that interview showed anything, it is he's all about getting a ring again. Didn't care where it was from, he got out and got to a playoff team to play to contend. NE only called. Who knows what happens if Philly or another team called.
