I remember a quote from a coach years back (it may have even been Chuck Noll)..."When you pass the ball, there are only 3 possible outcomes, and 2 of them are bad."
Players make mistakes. It's impossible to be perfect when the world around you is moving at speeds none of us can imagine. The greatests of all time make mistake, have bad games, and down years. You have to coach with that expectation. Coaching preparations need to be perfect. They are expected to be perfect. A player has a split second to make a decision. A coach, has minutes, quarters, halves, days, weeks, months, years to prepare.
