Harrison Blames Tomlin For 2018 Season; Discredits His Super Bowl Championship

Didn't get the impression that Harrison was "bitter," just sounded like he wanted a straight answer from Tomlin, and didn't get one. And the fact that James went to Rooney himself to inquire about his situation -- and was told that Tomlin assured Rooney that there was indeed a plan -- speaks volumes about the situation.

I don't doubt that and he hasn't distanced himself from the team either. However, he continues to pile on every time he gets the opportunity to.

Harrison can have his opinion and say whatever he wants.

Coaching is definitely part of the lack of winning in the playoffs problem. It seems like the team is never completely prepared, at least over the last 7 or 8 years. They make stupid mistakes, turnovers or poor coaching decisions. For instance, the defense let Blake Bortles light them up 11+ months ago. Right now, Bortles isn't even the bonafide starter. LOL

Tomlin Sucks

Now that I have your attention, I’m going to just put this right here (copied from another site) lol

A little coaching history. I am so tired of all the Tomlin bashing. "He loses to bad teams." "He won because of Cowher's players." BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Let's look at some FACTS.

First off, the MOST ridiculous thing, he won with "Cowher's players" Why couldn't COWHER win with Cowher's players? Only 9 players who started in Super Bowl 40 started in Super Bowl 43. Tomlin nearly totally revamped the team, especially the defense, drafting Timmons and Woodley with his first two picks.

Now, onto the REALLY interesting stuff.

In 1992, Cowher took his team to the playoffs, yet they lost to the 7-9 Bengals and the 5-11 Bears, He lost in FIRST ROUND of playoffs.

In 1993, they again went to playoffs and lost in first round. They lost to the 5-11 Rams, 4-12 Skins, 7-9 Browns, and 6-10 Seahawks.

In 1994, they went to the AFC Championship, were they lost AT HOME, to the lower-seeded Chargers. Along the way, the lost to the 6-10 Seahawks and 8-8 Cardinals.

In 1995, Cowher took them to, AND LOST, the Super Bowl. During the season, the lost to the 4-12 Jaguars (I thought they only gave Tomlin problems?), the 7-9 Bucs, and the 8-8 Vikings. I thought good coaches and teams did not lose to losing teams??

In 1996, they went to the playoffs. They lost to Patriots in Division round. Along the way, they lost to the 4-12 Rams. plus a couple of 8-8 teams.

In 1997, they lost to the 6-9 Eagles and 8-8 Oilers before losing the championship AGAIN to an inferior team at home.

In 1998, the mighty Cowher dropped to 7-9, losing to the pitiful 3-13 Bengals, TWICE, along with the 5-11 Lions, the 8-8 Bucs and Oilers twice, along with those pesky Jags again. Leading the division mid-way though the season, they lost 5 in a row and 6 of the last 7.

In 1999, the had losing record for 2nd straight year, dropping 3 in a row (including those Jaguars that only Tomlin loses to) after a 2-0 start. then they lost 7 of their last 8 including the 2-14 Browns, the 4-12 Bengals, and those Jags a SECOND time that season. They were a pathetic 6-10.

In 2000, they missed playoffs for 3rd straight year. They lost to the 3-13 Browns,,,and lost 3 in a row after being 5-3. They also lost to those 7-9 Jags.

In 2001, they were a very good 12-3, but two of those were against he 6-10 Jags ( THE JAGS!) and the 6-10 Bengals. How can a good coach and team lose to bad teams? Oh, they also lost ANOTHER Championship game AT HOME.

In 2002, they went 10-5-1 and lost to the 4-12 Texans, and EXPANSION team! Lost in 2nd round of playoffs.

In 2003, they dropped to 6-10 AGAIN. (COWHER should have been FIRED) They lost to 5-11 Browns and the 6-10 Jets. They lost 5 in a row.

In 2004, they went 15-1. And they lost to the inferior 9-7 Ravens. They also lost ANOTHER AFC Championship to Patriots at home.

In 2005, they won the Super Bowl, but had to go the hard route through the Wild Card. After being 7-2, they lost 3 in a row including the 6-10 Ravens, JAGS AGAIN, and losing division to Benglas.

Finally, in 2006, Cowher failed to win WITH HIS OWN PLAYERS, going 8-8. They lost to the 4-12 RAIDERS. How can Cowher lose to the 4-12 RAIDERS??? They also lost to the 6-10 Rams and the Ravens twice.

So, where are all those people claiming Cowher was a great coach and Tomin sucks??

Both Cowher and Tomlin suck?

So glad to know you think of me

Wasn't really thinking of you, per se...was thinking of your vehement Tomlin/Cowher argument from a week or so ago. You're one of a select few almost always at the forefront defending Tomlin, and how he earned his own Super Bowl win on his own, and how it wasn't just Cowher's players, and how trying to compare the two makes no sense, and blah ******* blah.

Just found it amusing that Harrison's comments contradict your bullshit, is all. So don't flatter yourself.

Oh my, Harrison has a different opinion then me. Also never defend Tomlin, just shoot down the theory that Cowher was vastly superior. And comparing the two, who coached in two different era's (Cowher spent most of his career as a run first, defensive team, when defense could still play defense. Tomlin in the pass happy, neutered defense Era). But hey, you read what you want, and have your own opinions that are obviously right...

How is Harrison piling on? By continuing to tell the truth? He was a great Steeler for many years, and Tomlin, for whatever reason, treated the guy like **** on his way out.

James Harrison did more for this franchise than Mike Tomlin has done or will ever do. Without a doubt.

You never defend Tomlin? LOL. Good one.

Yes indeed Harrison has a different "opinion" than you. But surely your well-informed opinion should carry equal weight to a guy who was actually THERE...what the hell would HE know? Right?

Deebo isn't wrong about this.

Blake ******* Bortles! It's the same **** over and over. Tim Tebow beat this team in the playoffs. Losing to garbage teams. Not just losing, but looking like unprepared hammered ****.

Epic absolute underachievement. Over it. Done.

Come on guys. This is all sour grapes, and the only reason you’re buying it is because it feeds your bias against Tomlin. If he “revealed all” against Ben, you’d be calling for his head.

No, more like he is stating the obvious that a lot of us have been saying for a while.

You still pro tomlin Crash?

Fox's version of FirstTake brings Harrison on whenever they need a hot take on the Steelers. They know they're going to get something good and negative when he's on the show. It's not like they're bringing him on after the Steelers beat the Patriots or after they are 7-2-1.

This is how you lie with stats. "Started"... He doesn't mention players that Cowher had on the team that played but weren't starters. 6 players just from the offense alone were "Cowher" players. The guy is an out right liar because he twists stats to prove a point. Then he does something "clever" He lies a different way. He doesn't mention that Timmons wasn't a starter in the SB. He also doesn't tell you that 9 players on the defense were from Cowher. He didn't revamp ****! So please stop the lies. I don't even need to read the rest of this ****.

Hell the ****** can't even count. There were 11 that started both SB. Dumb *** liar.

Offense:
1. Ben
2. Parker
3. Ward
4. Miller
5. Starks

Defense:

6. Smith
7. Hampton
8. Farrior
9. Foote
10. Taylor
11. Troy

And that doesn't count those that played the in the SB with Cowher like Keisel and Harrison that started the next SB with Tomlin. That also doesn't count those that started with Cowher and was a backup with Tomlin like Townsend and others.

Remember the regular season game when a Ryan Mallett lead Ravens team beat the Steelers?? He had only been with the team something like 10 days, and his first start he kicked the Steelers ***. Ten freakin days and Ryan freakin Mallett kicked their ***.

Wow learn something new every day. Today I learned that if I’m tired of Tomlin’s bullshit, my only other option is Bill Cowher. Well damn who woulda thought?

Seriously y’all need to ******* quit with the Cowher comparisons. That’s not who we would replace Tomlin with. If Tomlin is not getting the job done, we don’t have to compare him to the guy before him to make sure it’s okay to try to find someone better. Bloody hell

Nope, not around here. Here you have to dredge up the past, whether it's factual or not. And don't you DARE compare him to other coaches in the league right now on other teams!!!!
