The Steelers weren’t playing in Minnesota yesterday, but you didn’t have to look far to find one on TV. Antonio Brown, and Le’Veon Bell joined several shows throughout the week for Fox Sports, ESPN, and NFLNetwork. While Brown didn’t make any headlines with his on-air time, his teammate made enough for both of them. While […]

The question I have is why Ben didn't just audible to his own plays if he disagreed with Haley so much?

he was instructed not to?

Could you imagine the **** storm Ben would be in when the media found out that he was changing plays when he was told not to, and they would have. they already call him a diva and a drama queen, even if the plays he called worked they would have eaten him alive. Ben is possibly the toughest QB to ever play and they still trsh him about playing up injury's.

If you don't have the freedom to audible, then you can't. Ben obviously didn't have as much as we thought.
Tomlin said this last season aftee the away Baltimore game I believe it was and people just totally ignore the fact that Ben does not have free reign in the offense.

And here I am thinking Ben is a god damned gunslinger doing his own plays.

If Tomlin is going to be the Steelers he needs to put an end of the BS going on with this team. Ben should be able to change plays without the finger of Tomlin or whomever runs the offense. We will always be a so run team under this type direction.

It seems like Ben will have absolute control moving forward with his guy Fichner in charge. He should have been calling his own plays by now anyway. And we should have gone run and shoot as soon as Shazier got hurt.

I don't know....what could they do to him if he did change the play. If he is running the no huddle-hurry up, he had to be free to do what ever was reasonable regardless of the outcome.

What were they gonna do ....fire him ?

There is absolutely positively no way you can point to the eagles offense as being close to as talented as ours is.... but their coach called plays to the strengths of the players they had and even with a great run game never went conservative.... they gave up over 600 yards to the cheats and yet they beat them...

Ben hasn't liked Haley from the minute he was hired. Any "news" that comes out that involves anything between these two is no added drama to the team.

when a play worked ben called it when it didn't it wasn't his fault. he's just one of the many immature players on this team

Earlier in his career I think you can say that. Not so sure he can be classified as immature anymore.

There is some truth to this. But as I watch the games they always seemed to come out with the stupidest script of garbage. Every ****** week. The first quarter was shot. Bubble screens. Jet motions. Same **** every time. As the game moved on short huddles and sight adjustments by Ben. Im not gonna say it was always Todd. Maybe he was good at adjusting. Maybe that will be missed. But sorry the qb and the OC cant be at odds.

So why didn't Ben ever nut up and just call his own play, come to the sideline and say, that's how it's done? Ben didn't like Haley, so he should have defied him to be successful.

Because it would've been a huge **** storm. Ben isn't gonna undermine the coordinator.

Just like AB was a piece of **** last year because he doesn't always run the route that's called. You have the best receiver in the game, who works harder than anyone, and he was made out to be some third rate guy.
