Leveon is going to get paid when he hits FA,
This is the way I see it...and tell me if I am wrong.
This was a 4 year $60M extension. From what I read he was getting paid $4.4M this year and 9.6M next year - then his extension will kick in. So this is really a 6 year $74M contract - which averages to $12.3M per year. Bell was offered more per year just not as much guaranteed. I think Bell would have seen most, if not all, of that contract.

Everyone should just accept that the RB market is being adjusted. Everyone saw this coming except the anti-Bell crowd.
Hell, wait till after M.Gordon, Zeke, and D.Johnson hit the market.
I don't think anyone is denying that. I think the biggest concern is with all the holes on defense, do you really sign a guy to $15 million a year or whatever and hamstring the defense for 4 or 5 years? You won't win that way. So Bell had a choice. You could get paid $13.3 million a year and have a shot at winning, or you could shoot for $15 or $16 million a year and get paid. He chose to get paid.
The Rams, as stated above have the luxury of a good QB on a rookie deal. With all the money they have been throwing around, when it comes time for Goff to get paid, they are gonna have a problem. Probably why they haven't signed Donald yet.

From what I read he signed a 4 year extension and will be under contract for the next 6 years with the Rams. The Rams picked up his 5th year option. From a contract perspective, his numbers he was playing under and that contract are torn up. 5th year option is voluntarily voided. Starting today, he's on his new 4yr 60M contract.
I'm happy to see someone else get paid. Bell doesn't deserve it, he just whines and complains about everything he is entitled to. Let him walk next year, he won't be Pittsburgh's problem anymore.
And this is why I stopped posting during the off-season... Because of flaming hot takes like the one above lol.
Leveon is going to get paid when he hits FA, and I am glad for both him and Gurley. These guys do a ton for their respective teams, so its about time they start earning $$$ commensurate with their production.

Not to piss a few of yinz off, but you shouldn't let a few posts here and there rile you up to the point you don't talk Steeler football. Simply go to a different thread if one annoys you. Or take the day off, come back the next day refreshed. Always going to be a point of view you disagree with.
I dunno tougher skin?
Gurley and Bell are not the same situation. Gurley was a first rounder so he had a better 1st contract. He's younger, so he will still be in his prime when this contract ends and he will get a 3rd contract for big money unless he gets injured.
Bell was a second rounder so his 1st contract wasn't great. He essentially missed his rookie season too so he got a late start. This year and next year is it for Bell signing a big deal. If he signed this year or if he signs a long one next year, he will be over 30 when it ends.
So with Bell, he is chasing old money he feels due for the past, and also he wants the max he can get because he knows this is the only shot he'll have at a huge deal.
I hear you. And if it were simply between $13.3m and $15m, I would totally agree with you on the 'Winning' angle.
But I think the real concern was the guaranteed money portion.
