I dont know about you all but I like the combination with them two we have. Jesse James catches everything thrown in his direction and Grimble blocks pretty well and has the capability to be a game changer if he can hold onto the ball, almost feels as if we don't even need Ladarius Green. I wonder if it's possible to send him back and get all our cap space back because he never seen the field? Kinda like refusing a UPS package you never opened. I like the players we have in James and Grimble at the moment.

They're alright. James is about where Heath was as a receiver over his last few years with a longer frame, but needs a bit of work blocking. Grimble doesn't catch the ball consistently, but for both being young players, they are making positive plays. I will still welcome Green back with open arms. Until that happens, I hope these two continue to develop in their respective roles.

This post sums it up pretty good.

Don't forget" Whiff" Johnson who some gave the FO a lot of grief for brlnging back. Been a hell of a run blocker so far.

The young players on offense have really done great the first two games! Eli Rogers, Sammie Coates, Jessie James and Xavier Grimble. These kids have all stepped up big time in the first two games!

They have and you can also throw some credit to Ben for helping to elevate these guys. He could easily ignore the young guys and just throw to Brown, but he trusts their ability to make plays and it has paid off.

The TE is Ben's check down it seems. James and Grimble are stepping up to keep the chains moving

Didja ever notice the POP and Coach are usually missing at the same time? Lol

And of course Clete too..two wins and Clete is nowhere to be found lol.

They young guys have definitely stepped up and it's good to see. They have been major contributors

If I were the Steelers I would start looking into getting Green's signing bonus back and cut him. At the very least him and his bonus should not count towards our cap and we should be able to do an injury settlement and be done with him.

Why?? He can be a weapon for us. Blessing in disguise this could be. James and Grimble are contributing, getting their confidence and Ben is starting to trust them. Something that may not of happened if Green was healthy. But when he is healthy he is a different kind of TE. His presence and speed will be a factor that defenses will have to account for over the middle. Giving Brown and Wheaton and Coates more freedom. Green is not a blocker so James and Grimble being able to get that work now will be invaluable later on. Going forward that would give us three pretty good TEs making our three TE package deadly. No need to panic and cut him now.

James is doing far better than I expected. His blocking is getting better. He's not quite at Heath level, but in a few years, he can be. Now his hands, route running and ability to go up after the ball is amazing. Ladarius who? Grimble made some great catches too.

We don't even know if he will play a snap for us. Cut our losses and move on with the players that are on the field.

Exactly we don't know so what's the rush??

When does it become the point he's our problem and San Diego gets off the hook. Hell, that point might have already happened. I would have cut him the second his ankle looked botched and he complained of headaches but I see your point. If we are past the return your bad purchase date there's no point.

Coach, you're being summoned!

Here! PM works best to " summon me " On our TE's I think James was 20 when we drafted him so he has some development to do physically. He can get bigger/stronger. James has impressed as a receiver. A very tall man with decent hands, he had two first down catches and a touchdown. As a blocker v. the pass, he's horrible. As a blocker vs the run, he gets in the way but offers little push.

Grimble made a cameo. I'll need to see more of him to judge.

My $.02, and for the 99th time, I am not Pop. Check the ip addresses.

I would assume there must be some method of recourse for the Steelers if a) SD hid something or b) Green did. I doubt there is some kind of "stale date" involved if it is happening this soon.

In addition, I don't think you can just cut a guy due to injury and have to do an injury settlement. Since he got some guaranteed money, I'd be the Steelers don't want to give him more if he ****** them over.

Assuming SD or Green hid something, I think it will end up on courts.

Not sure about that but he received only a 4 million dollar signing bonus and we all know contracts aren't guaranteed. I just think we can afford to be patient because his skill set is not a need but a luxury. We don't need him to block James, Grimble, Johnson and Nix will do that. He is going to give us a Graham type of element that will force teams to play us differently.

Heath who?

Wouldn't go that far, but its a big step in the right direction. The buyers remorse on Green is strong.

Jesse is becoming Ben's favorite target over the middle, just like Heath. I approve

Being at the game the two catches but James looked to be outstanding and Ben whiffed on the over throw to James. Made nice block fort Williams to pick up first down. Grimble made a good catch for the first down over the middle on a bad throw. Both contributed very nicely Sunday.
