LOL...can't the LB on the bitty receiver lay him out at the LoS? Maybe the WR is too quick?
Similar for those rub plays. you have 5 yards, you can see the guy is headed for a rub play, push him out of his route and the rub never happens, timing is ****** up, etc.

We need new coaches across the board. Ones that will put our players in a position to succeed. Not fail. And fail we do. Time and time again. Over and over our coaches put our players in positions to fail. I'm tired of griping about it, to be honest. And especially tired of seeing it week in and week out.

Good article but it's the same thing many on here have said for years. This isn't just Butler's defense. Tomlin has his grubby hands all over it. You'd think two defensive guys could figure out that you can't put LBs on WRs. Do they not watch film? Do they see other teams doing this crap? Yes, there is a communication issue but the main problem is that the scheme obviously allows that to happen. If that is true then it's not a communication issue it's a schematic issue. There is no way they miss communicate on every single empty set.
Two morons who had the entire offseason to scheme for the Pats and they do the exact thing that kills them every year, brilliant.

Ah, same old bullshit. I'll say it again, Tomlin and Butler should have been terminated after the Jacksonville playoff loss at home. Both these retards between them couldn't come up with a defense to stop a Bortles led offense, are you kidding me. I saw all I ever needed to see of Dumb and Dumber that Sunday. They should have both been fired. The ****** had the team flat and looking ahead to the Patriots who are clearly implanted in his tiny ******* brain and he obsesses over them. I don't need to read whats wrong, I know, no we all know who the problem is with his 2 DL pass rush. *******!

What was that amazing gawdy stat the talking heads used to go to when the Steelers were up by 10 at the half? What was it... 110 out of 115 times they win? And they all carried that message - it was the Steelers', more specifically, Cowher's formula - get up by 10 and grind them down in the second half with a brutal defense and running game. War of attrition.
Yeah, that may or may not work in this NFL, but there was another message. Everybody (read: every freekin body - coaches and players) knew what they were doing. They blocked. They got skinny and hit the hole. They 'finished' plays. They filled their lanes. They hit their gaps. They tackled. They won. And the amazing thing was that the other guys knew it was coming and we still won. Yeah, yeah, Belichick eventually (recall that we beat his stains 3 times in 94) figured it out, but it still illustrates the difference between those Steelers and the slow motion rolling train wreck we've been watching for the last 10 years. 10 years. A decade. The same thing each and every year.
So back to another point. This rolling train wreck wouldn't have been tolerated by Atry's Dad. But Arty and his administration seem to be OK with it. 10 years.
We all speculate that the coterminous contracts of our franchise quarterback and his codependent HC portend a changing of the guard at the end of 21. Why, given Arty's penchant for mediocrity, do we hope for a better product and outcomes? Will they clean house? Will they hire a better staff? Draft better players? Actually develop them? Why would Casa Arty go in a different direction after the 13 years of lazy contentment with this bunch. Do you really believe that they think something needs to be fixed?
When the opponent goes 5 wide and an empty backfield the best thing you can do is to man up and send 1 more than they have in blocking! Someone will get there! It's a great strategy and one the Rats have used vs Steelers since the days of Brian Billick and it's forces a quick throw because someone is getting to the QB!

Watching Tomlin get preyed upon again by the Pats reminds me of something I read years ago to this effect:

How many times do we have to see TomBundy get devoured and it not become a question of intelligence or stubborn refusal to use it?
