The Commissioner finally has a new contract.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL’s Compensation Committee has informed all owners that a new contract for Commissioner Roger Goodell has been executed.
The memorandum to all owners explains that a “binding contract extension has been signed by the Commissioner and by Arthur Blank, on behalf of the League entities.” The memo also cites the existence of a “nearly unanimous consensus” among the owners in favor of finalizing the extension now.

The Compensation Committee received unanimous authorization from the owners in May 2017 to execute the contract. Since then, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been working to delay and/or derail the process. He had four or five other owners on his side, at most. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough to keep the contract from being executed.

VERY terrible news. Dude is a total **** up and disgrace. The NFL will continue to tank under his "leadership" and then the owners will be forced to ****-can his ***.
 
Jones had 4 or 5 on his side out of 32. Pretty clearly the owners are happy with their bottom line if they are each willing to kick in over a million each for this assclown.
Oh and Coach maybe dont title a thread terrible news when the team has a player in the hospital with a spinal injury.

Hopefully this will cause viewership and attendance to continue to free fall. That's the only good that can come of this that I can see.

The quality of the NFL has gone down since Goodell took over. There is no focus on improving the game, it is all about making money and all it's doing is alienating the true football fans and pricing out just about everyone.

It's a mathematical certainty I'd say by this point. There's so much **** that needs changed or changed back they'd have to start working on that contract now to avoid it. I can't see any way Goodell stays,not with the power he has. That **** isn't going to fly.

I'd offer our 3rd round pick to get rid of this guy.

Goodell must have some sort of illegal leverage on the Nielsen ratings people.
 
Mishandling of anthem protest driving fans away. Check
Ratings down. Check.
Attendance down. Check
Insistence on expanding the game to a global market despite domestic fans' opposition. Check.
Pussyfying the game and labeling it "player safety", thus alienating the core of fans who grew up with a more physical game. Check
Imbalanced levying of fines/suspensions, leaving the impression that the league office DOES play favorites. Check.

Yeah. This guy deserves an extension. :wtf:
