Goodell regrets league reaction to kaperdork

It is projected that more people than ever before will be watching the NFL on TV this season. If a few old white men can’t deal with a progressive league policy and don’t watch, it won’t even be noticeable...

I think it'll be more than a "few" of us whiteys.
I think you and whoever "projected" high viewership will be mistaken. Sure I'll still watch the Steelers, but I definitely won't watch nearly as many other teams as in the past.

I'm not sure how this will play out, but I will relate my personal experience about the "few old white guys".

For years I attended every Cardinal home game with a friend that always had an extra ticket for me. 45 yard line, 20 rows off the field, premium seats purchased by an old white guy. In fact the majority of the stadium was filled with white guys. Now I will admit that Phoenix does not have a high percentage of Black population, but does have a large Hispanic population, and still the stadium was 90% white.

So when players essentially say that all of their problems in life are due to the white man, and their solution is kneeling before our flag, it could have lingering effects.

Better look in the stands and see who buys all of those premium tickets up.

**** is ******* dumb. Kaperdick is a marxist. BLM is a marxist group . They're pretty much anti American everything. Including capitalism. That's been a big flashing sign for months now. Cats out of the bag.

The NFL deserves the spanking its going to get.

I think we're all very aware of what Burn Loot Murder is now.

Hopefully all of the soy boys will buy up those tickets. I think you need a job other than burning **** down and attacking police officers on a nightly basis.

Costs to own the rights to just “buy” the season tickets is crazy let along the price for said tickets. I see especially with not allowed in many, many folks will not be buying. I’m not supporting this bs that’s shoved down my thought and Costing me 20gs.

Maybe you need to take a good look at who the NFL players are... 70% whole-heartedly support Black Lives Matter because they are black.

Maybe that's why I hear people calling the NFL the "Negro Felon League" and make fun of us that still watch pro football ?

No...I think it's more than a few old white guys there johng, the NFL has really stepped on its crank this time.

There’s a lot of people in there 30s that I know that are quickly growing sick of being force fed this garbage during sporting events too. NFL is walking a thin line now, once is starts hitting the owners and players pockets then we’ll see what happens.

Maybe they should watch more ******* TV. If that's the wagon they're hitching their horse to,then i feel for them. Pure ignorance can be fixed, stupidity is permanent.

If I know what someone is going to say before they say it (either way), I don't give a **** what they have to say. That is the way I'm living my life moving forward.

I regret the day that useless **** took over as league commissioner. The league has been going downhill rapidly ever since.

Should be term limits for those types of Executive positions too. But Rooney and owners have been fully down with everything.

Rooney in fact was a trailblazer for making the league more about becoming a "platform for social change" when he championed the Rooney Rule and publicly endorsed Candidate Obama in a battleground state -- as earnest for the Ambassadorship to Ireland.

Maybe the league even gave him one more SB for it, but the Rooneys won't be sniffing SBs for a long time now with their investment in MT and it becoming more about social optics than results.

I originally wrote a long winded statement about this, then used back space. Now all I have to say it's pathetic. To quote Snoop Dog, "I had to back myself up and sit myself down". I'm so tired of this ****, play ******* football and shut up. I'm surprised the Hodge Twins haven't talked about this.

So...what demographics do you represent?"...

I wish the best of luck to the Steelers team this year but for the first time in over 40 years of anxiously awaiting the start of the season I dont give **** if they cancel it cause I won't be watching.

No sport is worth some entitled dumb *** who never met me, and doesn't know me, trying to convince me this country is predominantly racist. I know better.

That's the state of mind I've dropped to. I have about as much enthusiasm as I would to jump on a cactus. The appeal is gone. When they pull whatever stunt they plan to do week one. It will pretty much put two bullets through the ear of whatever I have left. It's all good. It's just entertainment and it's moved into something else I won't buy with my time. It's not like I work for them.

But so essentially your politics and your political view is determining your entertainment. Why dont you just skip the anthem and watch the game. Too many of you have made your politics like your team. And the team never holds, never commits pass interference and is never wrong. You are suckers.

Or people are just tired of the direction Godell took the league since he took over running it. A slow but very steady deterioration to where the game is currently at. This political stance by Godell(when people just want some entertainment and look to football for just that) and caving to the politically correct angle because he is simply afraid of the cancel culture is for so,e the final straw. In the end, it is all about the $$$$$ for Godell and the owners. They will do anything if they think it will keep the cash coming in. Me personally. I will tune into some games. Especially early ones. If I miss them though ....then I miss them. Godell started a slow death of this league. For me anyways. Not completely there for me yet though.

I wouldn't say people are suckers who choose to take a stand against an invasion into their sports. The flag is a very powerful representation that carries a lot of meaning. I am all for people choosing which path the will take as mine is well documented. Record, skip ahead and then if there is any banter delete and onto the next week. But to call someone a sucker for making a stand? I don't agree with that. And as you see by these threads there is plenty that don't like their sport invaded by agenda. Our time our dime we want to watch our sport and nothing more. I just disagree with shaming patriotic fans for whatever stance they take. They should be applauded not ridiculed IMO.

Slash, I really respect your football knowledge. But a man knelt for the national anthem FOUR years ago to protest police brutality. And when you juxtapose one man being shot at 7 times into a vehicle of children and another who has just murdered someone and is carrying a rifle having to force himself to be arrested, there is at least grounds to consider that to be an issue. But regardless. Stop talking about your boycott if this means so much to you and just do it. I don't really give a ****. See if you all can bring the NFL to its knees. Please.

Like the boycott or not, the boycotters speak up to give strength to others who might feel inclined to boycott. The fact is that there are a lot of voices saying that they are done with the nfl, nba, etc. I think that is the purpose of speaking up about a choice to boycott. Quietly boycotting is not as powerful.

I think most that are criticizing the action of professional sports are conservative in nature and are offended by those that, in our opinion, disrespect our flag, military and police.
Then we are told that isn't the intent, again saying we are wrong and our stance on the subject is just plain wrong. In other words, we have no right to be offended.

Why is it OK for one segment of the population to be offended by literally everything, and if anyone questions their action they are automatically labeled or canceled?

Hypocrisy runs rampant and our only option is to walk away if the game no longer provides entertainment. I don't tune in to be lectured to, the ironic part being, they will only be preaching to the choir anyway, rather than engaging in any meaningful discourse that should address all possible causes.

100% Correct. Just don't TALK about the boycott and then come on the board and talk about NFL football and consume it on Sundays.. Walk the walk.

Could say the same thing to the NBA/MLB and NFL player. They want to talk all high and mighty when getting paid millions. How about they just quit the league until things change to their liking.. after all, the black players aren’t loved in the country anyhow according to them.
“I hate this country and how it treats the black man... hey, I’ll take that 3 million dollar game check when you get a chance”

The last I checked people have a right to protest what they view as an injustice in a free society without giving up their right to earn a living. Now because it is a work place the employer has the right to curtail that right. In the current atmosphere the employer has decided not to exercise that right and is instead promoting the stance. You as the consumer have the right to not consume. just don't talk about your boycott and then consume or talk about the product here that you are supposedly not consuming as protest.
