Good Thing Tomlin Punted from the 34

14 yards in field position! They couldn't have used three points there, nosir.

Must've been that the kicker was struggling, or the punter wasn't sucking balls. Oh wait...

Thanks for another season's worth of ****** decisions, Mikey. You're the best!

Agreed. And throwing a bomb on 3rd and short made no sense.

Two lost possessions.

I like to rag on Tomlin as much as the next guy but I was iffy on the fg try myself. The offense just wasn't enough today.

All the more reason to put points on the board when the opportunity was there.

I don't attack somebody until they've insulted me first.

Just so I understand the rules, calling somebody "stupid" or "a ******* tard" is not a personal attack, and is just fine, then?

.
I totally disagreed with the decision as did several other fans with whom I was watching the game. Sorry it's only a "bitchy ******* thread" in your opinion, but it does warrant discussion.

Thanks for another season's worth of ****** decisions

The Steelers actually won a playoff game in spite of injuries, extreme comments like this will never float by without conflict.

There was points in the season he deserved criticism.

I think most would agree your timing now, is off and inaccurate.

the man said he has his moments he gets on Tomlin, so I think saying he is fixated on him is a reach...

What the gentleman says and what he does are two different things. What I do know, for a fact, is he's been right there to defend every single decision Tomlin has made for several weeks running now. I call it like I see it.

The bomb on third and short. Our QB is supposed to be capable of finding an hitting an open receiver who is there for the first down on that play. They're called progressions for a reason. My biggest problem today was trotting sorry *** Wheaton out there to field kicks when every kick he handled was bobbled. They would have been better off rushing 11 every time and just dealing with where the punt bounced.

Are you referring to the one that Wheaton dropped in the endzone?

We were 2 of 12 on 3rd downs today and continue to try and make big splash plays instead of moving the sticks that is all on Tomlin.

Well, there's at least three people on this page who do agree that it was the wrong decision, and others who disagreed and made their arguments civilly. Guys like Stainless and Stoney, for example.

There were bad coaching moves made all over the place this weekend. They all do dumb ****, some more than others. I was hard on Cowher, too. I guess for me, it just hurts more when it's the Steelers. And there's nothing I can do about it but sit there and watch...then come on here and vent.

A 51 harder in 17 or 18 mph wind wasn't a good opportunity though.

So then, your opinion would be that Denver should have gone for it at the end of the half? Instead of attempting and successfully hitting a field goal of the same exact length?

Going for it on 4th in the first and not putting points on the board that drive was was stupid. Punting at the 33 might be The dumbest thing I've ever seen. I'd have preferred a draw play on 4th down over that punt. This was the game for Tomlin to prove his worth as a coach. He proved he's a ******* idiot.

I get disagreeing with the call, but neither were the worst calls ever. There was a strong wind and both kicks were long. Miller was open on the play and Wheaton should have reeled in the ball for a touchdown. The defense was playing well and you would think that Berry could put the ball at or inside of the 10. The plays were there to be made, but the players dropped the ball in both of these particular instances.

So then, your opinion would be that Denver should have gone for it at the end of the half? Instead of attempting and
successfully hitting a field goal of the same
exact length?

Different end made by a kicker that kicks there every week.

It was the end of the half so the field position was inconsequential.

Yeah, I forgot about that call. Would have preferred to tie it up at 3 early.

Of course, if Ben hits a wide-open Heath Miller coming across the middle instead of going for the end zone when they only needed a yard, going for it there would have been the greatest decision ever made by a Pittsburgh Steelers head coach. But I digress...

He threw the ball before heath opened up. Wheaton got past the defense and he took a shot. Wind this wind that he looked pretty good that last fg wind be damned.

How did the kick from Boswell look later in the same quarter, same end?

Inconsequential. Kind of like the 14 yards of field position gained after another ****** dingle-Berry punt.

You've got one special teams guy who's kicking the **** out of the ball on kickoffs, and making all of his field goal and extra point attempts. Then you've got another guy with zero confidence, can't punt for ****, you have no idea what you're going to get, so you put him out there and pray for maybe 25 yards in field position, best-case scenario? Nah. I'll take my chances with a guy I can count on to most likely put me up by 7.

Can't really remember which game it was at this point, but something close to this same scenario played out in almost exactly the same fashion in an earlier game this season. And guess what? Berry put it in the end zone that time, too. So much for learning from your mistakes.

that was on Ben

Again, I tend to fault the decision-making process from a player in the heat of battle less than I do from a coach standing on the sidelines.

Just kick a 49-yarder there and tie the game. You're on the road. It's Denver. Even with the wind, the ball will carry. Simple choice.

Yes inconsequential. The half was over. Pittsburgh was not getting the ball at the 41 yard line if they missed.

you might want to stick to football based responses. We all know that even if the Steelers had pulled out the unlikely victory, you would still be on here bitching about this call

Where should he ***** about this call the f1 girls forum?

****, this team is not all peaches and cream there are thing to improve upon and this is a steelers message board.
