Golson

Cut him. I know it's a hard approach - but, we won't get anything for him regardless...

Injury settlement and sign a FA.
Golson taking the phrase "Can't stay healthy" to a whole new level.

I guess I see why some might say not IR to return if there was someone else injured that might be a better player to use that designation. But I just feel 2 weeks is not enough time to heal from a hammy tear. Those things can take over a month!

Golson can't be placed on PUP. He passed his physical at the beginning of training camp. The only option is Injured Reserve.

He's also practice squad eligible.

Not sure who would sign him away from our practice squad with his injury history. That's gonna be our best route for him instead of wasting a spot on IR or on the active roster.

-He may wants a fresh start and may not even want to sign onto our PS

That's what I was thinking. It's not like teams can watch any tape on him since he's been in the league.

Or get him working out with Deebo except he might get hurt doing that too.

If anything he will wind up on the practice squad. As of right now it can't hurt to hold on to him. If he has an ice showing, he's on the 53. Let's see if he can be used properly

Practice squad or CUT is about our only option. Sometimes luck just isn't there.

My guess is he'll get healthy, maybe practice a couple more times and then be cut. It's a shame as he had a lot of promise coming out of college but injuries three years in a row means you ARE injury prone. This year was supposed to be a minor hammy but he is missing 3+ weeks now. Just see very little reason to keep the guy.

For the kid's sake I hope he can at least play in a pre season game this year. If his career doesn't go anywhere past Pittsburgh, how ****** it would be to have a three year NFL career and never even get to suit up for one pre season game.

Moonlight Graham.

you need to put him on the IR but think he be a late cut especially if he not even on the field

With no roster cuts to the very end there is no reason to cut him now.

I just love the mystery with the injuries even in preseason. Golson and everyone was saying he didn't tear his hammy and he probably wouldn't be out long. Then you read from the local sports guys that he had a serious hammy tear and may miss all of camp. The dude is done. As soon as he can come back and not be an injury settlement situation, I think they cut him. Not sure they will even try to stash him on the practice squad. The dude is snake bitten. Three years and three injuries and there goes his NFL career.

I say put him on the PS. The coaches must see something in him to keep him around. Sort of like Sean Spence.

Often athletic freaks don't always age well... as a body matures sometimes a super agile guy like Golson isn't really going to hold up over time...especially when you are playing against huge fast guys in the nfl...

But that's the thing, he hasn't even gotten to play against nfl players. He gets injured in non contact practices, and like the third or something.
