He'll be back by preseason game 3. We might do what we did last year. Roster him early and then have him as a game day scratch.

Cut him. I know it's a hard approach - but, we won't get anything for him regardless...
Golson can't be placed on PUP. He passed his physical at the beginning of training camp. The only option is Injured Reserve.
He's also practice squad eligible.
Not sure who would sign him away from our practice squad with his injury history. That's gonna be our best route for him instead of wasting a spot on IR or on the active roster.

For the kid's sake I hope he can at least play in a pre season game this year. If his career doesn't go anywhere past Pittsburgh, how ****** it would be to have a three year NFL career and never even get to suit up for one pre season game.
here is my concern - if the steelers tell golson he's been cut, he is very likely to bleed to death.
I say put him on the PS. The coaches must see something in him to keep him around. Sort of like Sean Spence.

Often athletic freaks don't always age well... as a body matures sometimes a super agile guy like Golson isn't really going to hold up over time...especially when you are playing against huge fast guys in the nfl...
