I don't think this game could have started off any worse for our Defense due to our offense putting us behind the 8 ball to start the game with some terrible play calling on the first 2 drives. Going into this game vs the Rats I really thought the Steelers would try to run the football vs the Rats 30th ranked run defense in the NFL especially after Rudolph's TD pass to Juju in the 1st QTR which showed that Rudolph can stretch the field. On that play where Rudolph got hurt.....Earl Thomas should have been EJECTED for launching himself into Rudolph. See for yourself here.....sure looks to me like Thomas jumped into Rudolph.....helmet to helmet with both of his forearms crossed as he launches himself into Rudolph. Steelers certainly had their chances in this game but ironically the game ended on a fumble by Juju reminiscent of the fumble Week 16 last season vs Saints. I'm really wondering why Danny Smith our Special Teams coach is still on the coaching staff. We have the worst Special Teams in the NFL....and it's not even close. Johnny Holton & Ryan Siwtzer both don't belong on this roster! Holton's decision to run the opening kickoff out of the endzone to start the game was completely dumb....he hesitated then started to come out as Defenders were closing down on him within 10 yards......was the wrong decision there Mr. Holton. With the exception of a great punt by Jordan Berry to the Rats 1 yd line our Special Teams are completely inept. In years past with the 3 B's it didn't matter where we got the football or what our return game could do but the Steelers coaching staff seems to completely ignore this important facet of the football game.

I think it's pretty safe to say Game Over, Season Over! I can't help but think this Steelers team would be 4-1 if Ben was still our QB. I'll continue to watch and support this team going forward with Devlin Hodges and an improving Defense but the Steelers are done this season! A hard fought game by our Steelers.....there were alot of guys who stepped up today and played great games. Just hard to beat the Ratbirds FG Kicker Justin Tucker! Lost in all of this season is the fact that our Defense is really starting to show improvement as a unit. Gives me hope that maybe they can send Ben out a winner like the Broncos did Elway.

I didn't see any 4 or 5 WR sets today....just shows the fact that we don't have the right personnel to put out there for today's NFL!

Injuries:
Mason Rudolph - Concussion....went to hospital for further evaluation......most likely OUT next week til after the bye week
Mark Barron - Hamstring Injury and was unable to return
James Washington - AC Shoulder injury

Game Balls:
Stephon Tuitt - What a wrecking ball he has become this season.....really starting to peak as a DL.
Devin Bush - He showed no drop off from last week as he continues to improve his level of play.
TJ Watt - Another guy who's an absolute monster on Defense.....both he & Tuitt are really creating havoc on the left side for opposing offenses
Mike Hilton - Great play out there today topped off by an interception to end the half which led to a last second FG for the Steelers
Minkah Fitzpatrick - 2 nice open field tackles on Jackson today for short yardage only plus he was the guy who broke up the pass when Kam Kelly made the INT....really liking the fact that he's a Steeler
Cam Heyward - The quiet leader of the Defense.....he's been getting as much pressure up front as Tuitt......really gone under the radar all season.

Game Goats:
Juju Smith Schuster -Maybe you need to focus more on securing the football than you do playing Fortnight Juju! 2 costly fumbles in your career.....it's becoming a Trend! Time to be more focused!
Johnny Holton - This guy ******* SUCKS! On that Double Reverse he should have followed his blocker Jaylen Samuels....instead he turned it inside and gained 4 yards. If he followed his block by Samuels....that's a TD! He's not a good football player!
Jaylen Samuels - I don't know if all the blame should go on him but we shouldn't be running the Wildcat....that INT was really costly!

FU's:
FU to the official who called Roughing the QB on Ola Adeniyi in the 4th QTR....Ola hit Jackson at the waist.....Absolute Horseshit call!

Bad calls went for us and went against us. It is just unfortunate that JuJu fumbled.

Yeah, but his Fortnight dances are lit!!

This team has piss poor management and coaching. Fire all of them. Period.

Juju is now a fumbler. Great guy, but hold onto the damn ball!

This Play calling is atrocious! its like we give the other team a head start, every damn game.

Cut Holton tonight. Give a offer to Rodgers.

At the end of the day these guys get huge paychecks. And they continue to disappoint.

I thought the run D did a decent job overall. I think the pass D still has some work to do.

I think nobody should be passing from the wildcat. You run it or hand it off, let the QBs do the passing.

I think they should be bringing in some WRs yesterday.

I think Juju needs to start hitting the juggs harder in his off time.

I'm cutting Moncrief tomorrow to assure we keep the 3rd round comp pick. Cut Holton. Immediately see about moving Hargrave for a 3rd rd pick.

I don't care who they sign, seasons finished. Just let the young guys play and get experience for next season.

My gameball goes to the cart driver because he is the cart driver. Not Mike Tomlin who is not the cart driver. Because the real cart drivers will take responsibility for that ****** debacle. Mike Tomlin is not the cart driver or things of that nature so he is not responsible.

Y'know that line 'he could @#$% up a one car funeral'? You don't want HCMT anywhere near that cart.

Mark Barron was once again JOGGING after guys in pass coverage.

It's certainly snowballing into an epic cluster ****

Yes Juju should have held on to the ball, but no guarantee they score anyway.

If you want to cast blame, the game was lost on the first 2 scripted offensive series.

Yep. Coming out in the wildcat after Jaysam completed 3 passes last week really surprised the Rats. Arrogance and stupidity at its finest

cut Holton and Switzer and bring back Rogers and Ayers:whistle1:

We need to move on from all 4 PERIOD....Oh wait all FIVE...Moncrief too

There is an old adage in defensive football. Scheme away what your opponent does best and force them to what they don't want to do. I told my sons before this game. Front three and Williams have all interior gaps. If its play action continue Williams to the QB. He isn't good in pass coverage anyway. TJ and Dupree have edge vs. The read option. If its passing lock down wrs with your corners and cover the 15 yard middle field. With safeties and Nickles. Any passing down is Bush spying Jackson. He has his zone but attacks the run. But it took Barron who is redundant to Bush getting hurt for Williams to play. This wasn't the ****** Pats out here. They run to throw.

Lol. I wonder if all the people on here were the same people screaming when Holton wasn't on the old opening day roster. I bet they are. I was advocating to keep Spencer,to help our special teams and WR. Now everyone wants to bring back Rogers? What a joke. I bet the same people wanted him cut.
.

I'd said Spencer had he been available but yes, AYERS at least to see what he's got????

Salute the nation

he couldn't be any worse as a punt returner

I actually think AYERS would be better at punt return than what we've got.

Salute the nation

The fact that the NFL still allows blatant blown calls to affect the outcomes of games is just atrocious. A big ol' FU to the league and the officials.

They go on and on about having a first round grade on Rudolph, yet they have zero confidence in him????

Exactly but then with the season on the line they instantly open up the playbook and the pace when Hodges comes in, odd to say the least. For the record, I also think Hodges is the better propspect with the better football IQ, arm talent and has the it factor that Randolph lacks.
