Game Notes

if Bell catches that, which he should have, he scores.

The play looked a lot easier than it actually was. Probably still should have caught it, though.

our receivers were losing patience with Jones. That last "drive", they were showing it on the field with the balls being thrown behind them, short or not in their zip code.

DHB was not happy at all. On the last drive with seconds ticking away, Jones looked like he wanted DHB to go in motion or something and he visibly shook him off.

Could only watch half the 3rd and the 4th quarter. All i could see was laundry with happy feet

It looked like he started bitching after they punted on 4th and 13 when they were inside their own 30. Funny thing is, the next two times he had a chance to make a play, he dropped the fuckong ball.

Somebody didn't know the receiver routes. Was it the receivers or QB?

If Laundry Jones doesn't have the route tree down by now, He should NEVER be re-signed, END OF DISCUSSION.!!!!

Salute the nation

DHB is the least of this teams worries.

Once again they were so predictable Belichek didn't even have to coach today.

The little I could watch, the qb and the receivers weren't in synch at all

I'm trying to understand why Timmons wasn't barfing all over the ******* field.

I'm trying to understand why they had Timmons trying to cover Edelman. I get the concept of hemming in Gronk and Bennett, and allowing a bit more space in the underneath passing game, but if you're going to put a linebacker on a slot receiver, wouldn't Shazier be the more logical choice?

Landry was OK. Coates is injured. Wheaton is out. Rogers was apparently out. Brown cramped up and was not himself for a significant portion of the game. It was a tough game. The Pats always gameplan to take away your best weapon so they tried to take away AB which meant a secondary weapon had to step up.

DHB made a few plays. Hamilton had a play. But it wasn't enough.

It's hard to be upset over this game. I saw way more positives. The biggest being that with the steelers new DBs, they match up better against the pats than they ever have. The Pats are a high powered offense and the steelers held them in check for the most part, while missing Cam Heyward and any pass rush.

The DBs are getting better and if Dupree comes back, this will be a very different steeler defense if they meet again in the playoffs. Brady was actually forced to hold the ball quite a few times. He was out of rhythm but the steelers lack of pass rush gave him all day to throw so he found open guys.

The Steelers offense moved the ball too. Let them get Ben back and a healthy Coates and Wheaton and AB and we'll see a different game. The Pats played with no fear of the deep ball. Landry showed he was not going to complete one. There's no way they'd be able to play that way against Ben.

Bottom line for me is I'm not scared of the Pats should they meet again.

Edelman ran across the middle 3 yards deep all day, in that zone he is fair game. I don't understand why Timmons didn't knock him on his *** every single play? I'd bet if he did that **** against the Ravens they'd plant him, why does this team always play timid against the *pats?

I loved the body slam on Edelman, it was worth the 15 yards, maybe the new blood isn't intimidated. We'll have to see how Dupree plays against them if we make it far enough to see them again...

Shazier's first game back, maybe he's not 100% enough to cover a WR. Just guessing.

I didn't understand that they had him throw it deep so much. I think it must have been to just show the D that they would if they didn't cover it. Super nice job of Hamilton trying to 1 hand catch that ball. I wondered about that until they showed the replay where his other arm was held, which, apparently, isn't PI.....

I went to the game. It was slated to be the thrilla in manila, and it ended up being a loss but not a TERRIBLE game.

My takes.
IDK wth Haley is doing . Out thinking himself ala Bruce Arians? One pass to bell in the flat all day. One. This should have been bread and butter all day long. The pats rand Edelmans drag across the middle over and over. Same thing we should have been doing with bell. Instead we had 4 and 5 wide going deep. Landry proved to be ok, but he is not Ben. He was forcing some throws that he just cant make .

Running empty set back field with Landry is just stupid. There is no chance of a run,, and no play action to the most talented RB in the league. They did this many times yesterday and I think its stupid.

Robert Golden is terrible in my opinion. Just from observations I would put Dangerfield in. At least that guy isn't afraid to hit / tackle.

Butler: Idk if its our talent level, or maybe he doesn't want to show his blitz packages yet? Or brady is too good for that. But we had zero pressure yesterday.

We have a great punter in Berry.

The 4th quarter decision by Tomlin to kick unexpected and stupid. I thought / think we should go for 2 yards on 4/2 at that point in the game.

Oh ,, yeah following the miss, the stadium guy decided to play Renegade.. which went over like a Corey Feldman concert (it IS overused)

The Challenge flag was puzzling to say the least. I thought "maybe they are challenging the spot of the ball " or something,, because it was a clear cut catch by everyone in the Stadium.

Steeler warmup music sucks ***. Its pumped throughout the stadium. Don't go early unless you love you some thug gangsta "music"

Pats converted on third downs like they knew what we were going to do on that play.... Oh wait,,,,

People suck and cant sit and watch the game, I had to get up over and over because they were constantly up and going somewhere,, bathroom ,, ? Beer? Idk...I was ready to forearm shiver one guy.

yeah one hand attempt,,, hey ref WONDER WHERE HIS OTHER HAND IS!!????????????

Timmons isn't as fast or physical as he used to be. He's becoming a liability, especially with his outlandish cap number of over $15 million in 2016.

Also thought the body slam tackle was just a solid pickup and follow-through, and was disgusted that it was called a penalty. You can hardly do anything as a defender these days without being flagged for 15 yards. The NFL has truly become a "put a skirt on 'em" league, and it's not just the quarterbacks anymore.

How fast do you have to be to stand in front of someone half your size and knock him down when the ball is snapped?

All to protect the owners from future lawsuits. Prior to that threat, the owners didn't care to be so ticky tacky with physical hits.

Landry didn't suck...but he didn't excel either

I'd say all things considered, he did suck, when you bring into consideration of "timing" into the overall subject. Just at crunch time, he all of a sudden couldn't complete a pass to save his life. That is "sucking" in my opinion. This is the NFL: every possible window is narrow, including having to play well at key times in the game, and he sucks at that, while Ben excels in those periods.

Jarvis Jones flashed some early but disappeared

Boz sucked on FGs....

Yes.
for those that didn't watch...**** off again twatwaffles

Did you get that from a Hallmark card? :th_balls:
