Demarcus Ayers for 6!!!!!!

Landry Jones really needs replaced
Williams was solid enough...2 TDs
Defense was weak...but made enough plays to take the game. the fumble at the end of the 4th quarter was huge
Good hustle by Heyward_Bey to knock the ball away before the guy who picked Jones off crossed the goal line
Ayers was solid....one bad drop and one pass where he should have gotten his second foot in, but he did much better late in the 4th of tapping both feet down but there was a holding call...
Really wished Ayers had gotten a shot to return a few punts...

Mitchell complaining about that late face mask penalty was hilarious
Good stop by the D forcing a FG there

Nice win in a meaningless game....

I think the run D took a hit with Tuitt out and Hargrave out for some of the game.
Really like what Eli Rogers is showing... to a lesser extent Ayers and Hamilton. But all three showing well.
Burns cheated on the one play and was burnt... good error to look at in the film room
Davis I thought continued to prove why he was Steelers rookie of the year. I can't wait to see who coach doesn't like out of the Steelers next group of draft picks.
Happy there is no more ****** teams for the Steelers to play moving forward.
Even happier that both Jones' won't be back next year.
And happy for the win, most of all...........

Just saw a mock draft that has us taking the Ole Miss QB in the 3rd....we may be wishing for Landry after that.

Jarvis played great when the game mattered most. A big, legit sack, batting down a pass, and forcing a fumble, that would have been a game winning drive for the Browns. Too bad he didn't play every game like it was his last. Great curtain call Jarvis. If you get snaps in the playoffs, I'd like to see those splash plays!

I know the loss benefitted the Browns, but it was lovely to see zero points on an interception return, 2 red zone turnovers, the last would have been the game winning FG (and would have won me the score of the week!).

Then the go to OT and score first! Only to give up the game on a 4th and 2, followed by a TD. For a meaningless game, it was nice to see Browns fans hearts ripped out a few times along the way. Surprisingly, I still jumped up and screamed, and celebrated with my daughter when Hamilton caught the game winner!

Gutsy effort men!

Landry Jones is what he is...a decent backup quarterback. As Steel Ballin' mentioned, he put together a pretty good stat line by the end of the day. I don't know what else you expect from the guy, especially after they made Bell and Brown inactive.

Good summary otherwise.

That DHB play on the interception return was phenomenal. I got to say the guy should never have even got close to the endzone on that return. There was a total lack of commitment to hustle to get the guy down by a lot of players. Jesse James for one seemed to just stand there and let the guy run past..

Don't think fans were displeased at the final outcome. But he is prone to INTs too many for my liking. What I expect from a backup is a little more ball control and little less turnovers.

hopefully someone gives him a decent contract that bring us a future comp pick, you know we can make some magic finding a WR in later rounds

don't be shocked if he somehow finds his way back to the burgh

I can't imagine he would be too attractive to any team

even Moats had more sacks than Jarvis this season, he's done for the Steelers unless he wants to ride the bench for a cheap payday

my bag I was thinking Landry...

yeah Jarvis is gone.

I liked the way McCullers played. Had a sack, an almost sack and a number of tackles. Additionally he was taking up two, and a couple times 3 blockers freeing up other people to make tackles. I realize he is slower than Hargrave and not as versatile. But he made the most of his playing time with production and a lot of hustle. I always was worried if he got an opportunity like this if he'd get gassed really fast, but he seemed OK. Love to see him play a lot with Hargrave.

Landry would have looked better if our O line would have played in the first quarter and a half. Every time he dropped back to pass on third down, he was immediately buried. I know Pouncey was out but that's still no excuse. We also couldn't run in the early going either. The o-line had a bad game.

The Uncle Jarvis experiment is over. Uncle Jarvis has left the building!

Actually, that was one thing that I kept commenting to my dad every time the announcers mentioned it was the starting line, only Pouncey was out. That's not the same as missing one of our guards, or even a tackle, and here's why. Ben doesn't call the protections at the line, Pouncey does, it's why Foster stands up and looks back and Ben and gives Pouncey the signal that Ben is ready to go. Take Pouncey out, and make Finney call the protections now. He didn't see everything in the first half, missed some blitzers, missed some alignments, but he got better as the game went on.

It's not as easy as people think to replace Pouncey on our line, he does A LOT. It showed up even more so in the run game. That was the 31st ranked run defense that pretty much shut us down until they started to run Williams outside a bit more.

As for Jarvis Jones, he seemed very disinterested in the first half, I'm pretty sure that he got an earful from someone at halftime, this was his last chance to audition for his next contract, whether it's from us or another team. He came out in the second half and his hustle was back, he made some great plays, more than just the ones that show on the stat sheet. He pushed Thomas back into Griffin forcing him out of the pocket a few times, and that's a 10 time pro bowler, one of the best LT's in the game.

Now I'm not saying I would bring him back with anything more than a back-up type role, I'm just saying it was clearly a tail of two halfs with him.

But we have played without Pouncey before and didn't look anywhere near as bad as we did most of the game yesterday. The standard is the standard, even for backing up Pouncey.

Not trying to be a downer, but am I the only one that thinks Cockrell is just too damn weak to be a starting corner for us? He's good for two amazing breakups a game (which is good), but he gets bowled over or trucked downfield WAY TOO much. I'd love to see us maybe make a move for Xavier Rhodes in the offseason.

that is why I have suggested Brandon Wilson to be the Steelers #1 pick with the 32 choice...

Yeah i agree. Cockrell needs to juice up or something lol

Guy is way too weak. I would LOVE Pitt to go get a top CB in FA, problem is those types of CBs rarely get the chance to hit FA

Pitt is a college team, they do not go after free agents....

And most of those times, it took a week or two before the replacement player to be comfortable calling out protections. And sure, we might see a huge difference as fans, but I'm sure it changes A LOT in game planning and preparations when you don't have a guy like Pouncey. He's the most athletic lineman we have, and we can pull with him in any direction, and that is where you see the differences between him and his replacements.

I don't think that he's weak, I just think he tends to go high too often. He is a lot better than what we have been lining up out there the past few years, and while he may not be a top notch shut down corner, if Burns develops into that, he makes an EXCELLENT #2 corner.
