This was the Steelers best team performance so far this season against a stout Clowns Defense led by Jim Schwartz. The O-Line did a great job keeping Myles Garrett in check the entire game. He doesn't even show up on the stat sheet as having a tackle but I thought I saw him make 1 tackle during the game in the 3rd Quarter on a run by Johnson. The Steelers were able to run the ball efficiently racking up a 100 yds from scrimmage and Rogers and the passing game did enough to get the job done with 235 yds & 2 TD's. I loved that first pass play to Washington.....seeing him running in the open field is a beautiful thing.

Defensively the Steelers kept rookie QB Dillon Gabriel bottled up as he struggled most of the game.....It wasn't until 4th Quarter where he finally started to get some yards in garbage time. We saw six sacks today by the Steelers and some great individual efforts on Defense today. It was refreshing to see TJ Watt outshine Myles Garrett on the field today.....we all know who the G0@T is when it comes to these two!

This wasn't a good Cleveland team but at the same time it was a dominant win in all 3 facets of the game.....Offense, Defense & Special Teams. A couple things in this game that stood out to were too many penalties for the Steelers....10 in total is just too many. Not once today did the Steelers offense throw the football over the middle of the field. I just don't understand the logic there. If Tomlin has any concerns about throwing over the middle of the field I'd suggest he go back and watch Super Bowl 45 and revisit how the Packers exploited the middle of the field the entire game. I just don't understand how you can watch the Browns with a rookie QB throw the football over the middle of the field and not once today did the Steelers throw to the middle of the field. The Steelers offense is only using half the field....IMO making it too easy for opposing Defenses!

Lets enjoy this one for 24 hours as it's a short week. The Steelers travel to Cincy for a Rumble in the Jungle Thursday night.....

Per Tomlin's Post Game:
Miles Killebrew - Significant Knee Injury that's being evaluated
Darius Slay - Shoulder that's being evaluated

Game Balls:
Aaron Rogers - 21 for 30 235 yds 2-TD's. Would still like to see the Steelers use the middle of the field on offense.
Patrick Queen - He's finally starting to perform at a high level we saw when he was a Rat. 9 tackles, 1 sack today
TJ Watt - Won the battle today vs Myles Garrett....1 sack, 5 tackles, 2 passes defensed
Jalen Ramsey - 2 sacks today....he's a great blitzer.....first 2 sack game of his career
Nick Herbig - He's really making it hard to keep him off the field....2 sacks today....He got pressure all day!

Game Goats:
Mike Tomlin & Arthur Smith - Use the middle of the frikkin field when your on offense! You've got a First Ballot HoFame QB out there! Don't handcuff your offense using only half the football field. Not one throw today over the middle of the field!

FU's:
FU to Myles Garrett.....King of the Clowns! Great Disappearing act today....David Copperfield & David Blaine would be impressed!

I'm gonna give the turds rookie QB a game ball just for surviving, with better receivers this game might have been closer and the kid took it in the chin and still kept trying.

Game balls to AaRod, Queen, Ramsey and all the D in general, especially the front 7 (Herbig included).
Special mention to the run game, this is a tough team to run against and it showed on how hard all those yards were gained.

Game goats: the grass

**** you to the refs

Saw 3 phantom neutral zone infractions that are rarely called, and the hands to the face by Cam occurred while he was clearly being held.
Add to that the non-existent blind side block on the punt return and the officiating needs a FU as well.
meh.....those calls happen. Watt has had a bunch of off side calls this season. i didn't see Porter's offside. Maybe watt needs to back up a few inches. porter's call...I love the fact he was that close to the LOS. Cam clearly had hands to the face in my opinion. Held? Nah. Just being blocked....by todays rules. The blind side block will be called everytime when seen in todays game.

Would have given a game ball to Warren. Had some nice runs. Was credited with 52 yds rushing, thought for sure he had more than that.
He was stuffed early on in the game....started ripping off 11 yarders later on. would love to see he him getting 100 yard games though.

Agree w/ everything in the OP and this post as well.

Other than that - STEELERS WIN and the defense is looking better with each outing. Same for the OL - Helmet Swinger only had ONE TACKLE so they did what they had to do to minimize his impact on the game...

Game balls:
DK Metcalf - Real good game, should've had another TD if Rodgers hit him.
Darnell Washington - Our new TE1 got it done blocking and receiving today.
Jalen Ramsey - Best DB pass rusher since Mike Hilton. Looked like a better pass rusher than Myles Garrett today.
Nick Herbig - So good at getting to the QB.
Aaron Rodgers - His numbers don't need to be huge to know what a difference he makes.

Game Goats:
Mike Tomlin - he's on here until he wins a playoff game.
Pat Meyer - he's on here until the OL lives up to their potential.

FUs:
Ground crew - the only reason Boswell missed the FG.
Pitt football and administration - build an appropriately sized on-campus stadium already.

The rookie RB Caleb Johnson starting to get comfortable had a few good carries and Roman Wilson had a catch for a first down.
I wish these two young players would get more playing time but Tomlin won’t let them hop on his moving ******* train. Ridiculous!
Nick Herbig continues to push for starting role with solid play. Creating havoc in the backfield making plays.
Big man Washington, can’t say enough about him. Solid blocker, a beast once he catches the ball. Like him a lot.
Yes, the penalty that was called on Peppers on the punt return was ridiculous.
TJ getting called twice for neutral zone infractions made me think these refs were too damn flag happy.
Let these guys play!
Team still needs a legit #2 WR. Make that happen Omar.
Wouldn’t mind seeing another OL to add to the depth of this team. Come on Omar!

I'm gonna give the turds rookie QB a game ball just for surviving, with better receivers this game might have been closer and the kid took it in the chin and still kept trying.
And if our defensive players could catch a football it could of been a lot worse..

Omar…Extend Mt. Washington right now.
If I heard right today they were talking about trying him on the oline at tackle. dude is a freaking beast

At least 4 solid horseshit calls vs the Steelers today, and two more really iffy.

I detest the fact they're trying to neuter the physical aspect of the game with an emphasis on defense.

Every time I see a hard hitting tackle, I'm waiting on the flag. Which is the biggest reason why I don't give two ***** about watching any other games.

Did you feel a small rumble at your place? First pitch….bang…George Springer! Fans went nuts,I would have been choked if I was waiting in line for a beer.
Nice start .... Springer Dinger

Both pitchers are dialed in now ........

Decent game so far
