Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's..............week 15................vs Dolphins......

exactly, I can't even get excited about a Monday Night win because of him, we've all seen what happens next.
Well, that’s unfortunate Tom.
The only slight damper on this win for me, was the puzzling lack of urgency by the Dolphins in the final quarter.
I was actually pleased with Tomlins leadership in preparation for this game.

it is because it's ground hog day, last year we went into Cincy and kicked their a55, threw for 400+ yards moved to 10-3, then the passing game was totally shut down the rest of the season and we lost 4 straight and got embarrassed in the playoffs.

Sorry, I can't agree, top 5, not at all. Top 5 coaches find a way to be competitive in the playoffs even if they don't have a franchise QB, they don't go almost a decade without winning a playoff game, he's won a playoff game in only 4 of his 18 seasons, that's not top 5. They just beat two defenses that have zero guys that can rush the passer, this happens every year, they win a couple games or they get of to a 10-3 start like last season, then everyone is sucked back in, "hey this team can do some damage in the playoffs" then they get smacked around by the good teams. It took a 60 yard FG and 2 dropped INT's that hit the Jets DB's right in the hands to beat the Jets, took 13 turnovers to barely beat Indy and NE, took a fluke rule to beat Baltimore, we were outgained 200+ yards to 9 or something in the 4th qtr there, and we just beat a QB and team that never win in the cold weather.
Agreed. So many things about Tomlin is lacking.
A top 5 coach would game plan against and attack an opponents weakness. We "do what we do".
A top 5 coach would not let Rodgers sit back with his hands in his pocket during the tush push (change the name please) and let his offense play 10 vs 11.
A top 5 coach would replace him with another player and keep things even and get a better push. Or better yet, flank the QB out to the WR position to draw a defender out wide and put it back to 10 on 10.
A top 5 coach would have his OC devise better routes (crossing routes, etc) and not be scared to death of the middle of the field. I could go on.

To me, Tomlin is in the 20-25 range. He is a great motivator, **** spewer, but not an X & O guy.

Dolphins were competitive in the first half but their QB Tua is bad, real bad. Why the hell would they have signed this dud to a 250 million dollar contract.

They're like middle of the road in rankings.
Ok but what I saw on the first half was a very good D, but as I said at the half in the game thread, hopefully they spent their gas tank too early and we keep running until we impose our will

We beat them no doubt, they're a 6-8 team, a win is always a good thing, but wake me up when we are a contender, the 80's were horrible and even those teams never went 8 seasons without a playoff win, hell they beat Elway and made the AFCCG with Mark Malone, but Tomlin isn't supposed to win a post season game because of who his QB is???

I'd say Rodgers has finally taken control over the offense from Smith and Tomlin. The game plan, play calling and personnel was completely different than what we usually see from those two numbskulls.

And it took two more vet receivers acquired from the outside to pull it off, our young WRs have no clue what they are doing. Tomlin basically needs a coach at every position group because this staff is so far below the line.

I was happy with the domination, but we've been down this road before. Beat Detroit, then I'll be optimistic. Heck, don't get boat-raced by Detroit and I'll think we still might win the division.

I’m perfectly fine with Tomlin as head coach if he hired bright coordinators. Offensive-minded HCs or defensive HCs with a really good OC are essentially for offenses and QB play. I have zero confidence that Arthur Smith could develop a young QB.
Nailed it.

If Tomlin is back next year-and unfortunately all signs point to that, they honestly should just keep singing vet QBs until Tomlin leaves because Tomlin’s prejudices against using the whole field, letting anyone but Rodgers audible, and trusting a young QB, would ruin a top draft pick at QB.

Yes. Part of his continuous losing nonsense is his very poor development history.

Oops wrong cap.
Oh well.

Game Balls:

Mike Tomlin-what the hell was that last night?? They stuffed the run, protected Rodgers, ran the ball somewhat efficiently, and maybe most impressively had sustained success multiple offensive series in a row. You’ve got to give him credit for this one, like I rip on him for all the bad games over the years. He still has to win 2 playoff games in a row to shut me up that he should be fired tho…that is the “standard” if you will

Rodgers-decisive, accurate and in controll

Offensive Line-kept Rodgers almost totally clean all night

Defensive front 7-again what the hell was that? After a few early runs got popped they contained the run well and pressured the QB. If they can stop the run maybe they have a chance to get to and win a home playoff game
