Finally! We see our Steelers put together a complete game in all three facets of the game for 60 minutes. I hafta say I'm impressed with how this team played all around. I was disappointed this game that we didn't see Matthew Thomas in the game until two minutes to play. I'll say this about him....in his limited play time.....he's got some speed and his wingspan seems HUGE.....WOW. I hope we see more of him. LJ Fort and Tyler Matakevich did good filling in for Vince Williams. I actually think Fort at this point might be our best option until Matthew Thomas is ready. Also I say that Morgan Burnett shouldn't see the field as a starter because IMO Terrell Edmunds is actually better at tackling and his coverage skills are improving too. This win gives me hopes that maybe somehow our Defense can turn it around. I still see Bud Dupree as a major weak spot for this Defense going forward he has no business being a starter on this Defense! The guy gets absolutely no pressure at all. One of the few times they mentioned his name was two penalties for Hands to the Face. I still think Ben needs to be more careful with the football....that desperation heave on 2nd down just before the half was ridiculous....AB had 4 guys on him in coverage....no chance of that being complete. That bone-headed mistake cost us 3 points Bring on the Bungles!


Game Balls:
James Conner - 110 yds rushing 75 rec 2 TD's HIS BEST GAME AS A STEELER!
Steelers O-line - Gilbert, DeCastro, Pouncey, Foster & Villaneuva - 0 Sacks and they opened holes for the running game.....their best performance so far this year
TJ Watt - 3 more sacks today and a forced fumble. Alot of pressure from TJ today
Sean Davis - He has quietly improved his play this season....I hope he keeps improving.
Cam Heyward - His best game all season so far....really disruptive today I think he had 2 sacks.
Jordan Berry - Had a great game punting the football today.
Joe Haden - Followed Julio Jones all around the field today....held him without a catch until the 4th QTR.

Game Goats:
Bud Dupree - This guy is a complete BUM! Not starting material at OLB. Bring on Matthew Thomas....I know they have him listed at ILB but he is so fast he would create havoc from the Blind Side IMO.
Chris Boswell - I'm not sure what happened to The Boz but that was his third missed PAT. That **** needs to stop!

FU's:
FU to the Ref who threw the Roughing the QB Flag on TJ Watt. I don't even think Watt touched Ryan on that play.

I still give a game ball to Ben. 3 TD passes, he ran for a few first downs and he showed more emotion than I can remember. That might bode well going forward. We still have 3 division must wins in a row coming up.

Outside of the jump ball pass to the middle of the end zone to AB, Ben played pretty well, and used his legs when needed. For some reason his timing is a bit off with Brown.

I'd Ben a game ball over Davis. Also a game ball to Nix, for blocking that punt and being the hammer FB.

I'm with you on Fort. Keep him in there! While Dupree is hit or miss, he's not the biggest disappointment on the team. That would be Tuitt, who's scheduled to make over 13 million next year. Hargrave was a non-factor again.

Next draft or offseason, draft a big DT early as we play a lot of 4-3, nickel and dime.

As for Conner, he looked like a star. The man does many things well. He can run for power. He can make cuts. He has a spin move. And now we know he can jump and take it over the top! As a receiver he's very impressive. A 3 down back, with big play ability.

See ya Le'von, Conner is just as good, maybe better. He's also about 1/16th cheaper.
 
I won’t go so far as to say Connor is “Better” than Bell, but for the money, I take Connor every day and twice on Sunday.

Connor + 2-3 quality defensive players is where I put my money.

The 2 games we didn't immediately fall behind and actually used Conner, he lit it up. 175+ from scrimmage in both. Hopefully, we can keep that going as it will only help the passing game.
 
Ben gets a game ball for getting back on track with AB. I'd play Chickaloo over Dupree. I have no idea what to do with Boz but I'm gonna enjoy today.

The defense as a whole showed up and played a good game against a good offense. Good job boys, keep it up!
Conner and the O-line must have eaten their Wheaties this morning. I'd like to see that consistently.
Ben didn't have to carry the team. That's encouraging. I wish he'd quit forcing it to AB.
 
I'll second the motion of Rosie Nix as a potential game ball recipient... blocked punt and helped lead the way for Conner on many plays, most notably his second TD.

The defense is better without the worthless Vince Williams in there. We gave the bum 6 million a year , SMH

I thought Dupree wasn’t bad today. No sacks but he was disruptive on collapsing the pocket on Ryan.
 
Is this where I point out that TJ Watt now has the same number of sacks this season that Jarvis Jones had in his career?

I think overall he is having a better season.Not a star type season but not a bust type season either.

Just tone down the stupid penalties Bud.
 
We scored a bunch of points against a team that has allowed 37+ over the last two games. I think the bigger issue in this game was that we held an offense that had scored 31+points in the last three games to 17 points.
 
he can generate good rush, is getting better vs. the run, just very inconsistent, will make it easier to retain him on a 2-3 year average contract. In nickel he should tried in a 2 point stance at 6"6 270 he could wreak havoc or overload by sending him and bostic/vince from the same side.
