Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's...........vs Colts.....

It wasn't that huge it was third down and the kick everyone knew was coming was the next play,, I know he had a lot of pressures/ sacks today. Kudos for that. But he still gets a FU from me for acting like coach when he thinks hes right.

Vinatieri has struggled this year and already had an extra point blocked. Dupree helped put them back three yards. If they picked up the first down, the Colts could've ran a few more plays to make it a chip shot. It was a big play.

Man, I thought you would be over the moon with an Alabama boy getting a pick six for 96 yards!

Funny story. So I’m out walking the new pup. My neighbor (after Mia game) all pumped up says ******* Steelers yeah baba! I’m like didn’t know you were fan. She was like yes, but MF is her cousin. She was going nuts when we got him and more importantly stocked he got over on them.

Stupid ******* nfl replay. How is it they can’t get **** correct but NHL seems to have it down and can get it done within 1-2min.

Standard TV has 30 frames per second. HDTV is 60fps. It shows stuff the human eye simply can not see and the NFL is writing rules to account for every one of those frames. Replay takes too long and we still end up with bad calls and confusion. I would be fine with no replay. Sure, there will be bad calls, but that was always part of the game. I could live with hit again...far better than the on field kangaroo legislation we see now.

This is a feast or famine defense. If they don't get TOs they give up TDs. The Steelers were lucky that they were playing a 2nd string.. 3rd string if Luck is still there.. QB. He ate them up but he also made some horrible mistakes.

There are 2 keys to beating the Steelers and I'm shocked Indy didn't do either. 1st you can't turn the ball over. 2nd you have to take away the underneath throws from Rudolph. You do those two things the Steelers are in trouble. My guess is that if Brisket doesn't get hurt they become a more balanced team on offense and have a better chance to win. There is a reason Hoyer has been on 8 teams.

I didn't really have an issue with the game plan on offense. It's obvious that Rudolph is not comfortable throwing long. And by the look of the one long throw I understand why. It looked like a duck shot out of the sky. I've seen punts with better spirals. Rudolph is good with short to intermediate throw. No reason to force it long if they are going to give you the underneath stuff. Just take your time and move down the field. Indy was stupid for allowing it but that's' not the Steelers fault. Make them stop it.

But when their def adjusted we needed to on OF. But I know MT game plan doesn’t include such things

you are right. the refs don't know, players, fans, no body knows what it is from week to week. hard to believe such a huge game change penalty is so confusing

MANIPULATION comes to mind...................

They won in spite of the coaches with some pretty good fortune. Tomlin's use of challenges in relation to the time was beyond unbelievable. MAYBE the overthrow. That might have been worth the try, but to throw any chance you have on offense basically out the window and put it all on a call you cannot win. C'mon. If TJ Watt was injured on the last series OK I can live with that, but otherwise if you just throw in Chickillo because....... C'mon. Same with the point they threw in the from nowhere running back. WHY? This is not the preseason. And Danny Smith.... Don't even

Danny ******* "bubbles cheeeeck" should have been fired more than a season ago. When was the last game played when STs didn't get a penalty??? How about what you mentioned and add in the fact that Bubbles had some say in the KEEPING of the Switz instead of SPENCER. I know we won today and I am very thankful for that but there won't be any "Ws" coming when we play better teams with actual coaches that understand the game.

Just saw some of the Denver Cleveland Game. Denver's QB won the first game he ever started. I saw him throwing downfield.

It did not look like he was in a remedial math class.

Take off the training wheels. It is the NFL.

As someone said in another thread, Mason got shell shocked on that INT in the 1st. Was really relying on the check downs because he didn’t want to risk another pick. Besides the McD TD Samuels was his primary target. Mason missed a lot of chances with DJ and JuJu especially with crossing routes as both were open on screens to Samuels. The play calls on med/long passes were there, Mason wasn’t seeing them
. Until we see the 22 film, we can’t see all of the streak patterns passed up. Washington caught pretty much everything thrown at him and bailed Mason out on a couple. The safety was all on him as he lost awareness and didn’t toss it away. Kid is young and he is learning, it’s easy to be spoiled by having Ben as long as he had. But MR has the ability to be a solid QB. Clean up some of his technique and he will be solid.

I agree with of the part in orange.

I don't think he's long term starting material, and if Ben retired tomorrow we are looking for a new QB. Many rookies and 2nd year players are showing better and they are on worse teams with less talent around them.

Rudy's better than Landry Jones. Granted, but he's not in Batch's class as a back up. There are QB rankings these days #1-32 Check for yourself where he rates.

I want to see Duck start another game, without handcuffs. I'm not saying he's better, but I think the guys seem to respond to him. It must be very frusterating to be a Steeler WR. Props to Ju-ju for keeping his mouth shut, In almost all cases the QB makes the WR, not the other way around., When Landry Jones had to start, AB in his prime looked rather ordinary, didn't he? Yep.

I think his lack of aggressive play is two fold. He doesn't seem to have a lot of confidence in his own ability to make the plays that are there for the taking and it seems like the coaching staff doesn't want him to make mistakes. The Steelers play so many close games, a bad interception can cost them a win with Rudolph at QB. It's not like Ben's back there who can take command of the huddle and drive the Steelers down the field at any point. I'd rather the coaches find a scheme that can maximize Rudolph's skills and allow him to actually play like an NFL QB instead of a rookie UDFA.

If they are not last in returns I'd like to know who the hell is. How do you keep your job when you are last.

I must have significantly lower expectations then many of you. The throw on the pick that went off Juju wasn't good. Holding onto the ball in his own endzone was terrible on the safety. He made a couple other **** plays, but to me he played pretty damn good otherwise. Should have been two TD drives for sure. I still don't know how you cant score from inside the one. The playcalling after the PI call (Johnson was fouled) was ridiculous. You have to run some rubs and spring someone there. They seem to have no idea about the players either. They need a short yardage offense bad.
I've heard the route called about three different things. A Smash, an arrow, a pivot. But essentially it's a hook in and slide to the out. You watch how many times that gets run tonight around the goal line or in third and short.
Oh and in the mid field on passing downs there is this thing called a screen pass. It works a lot.

Only in Pittsburgh guys. We lose our top QB, top RB started 1-4 and are now at 500, yet the coach sucks and the play calling sucks. You expect Rudolph to throw for 300yds and 4 TDs a game? It ain't happening. He's developing, and the gameplan is controlled passing to keep the chains moving. And guess what? It's working.

Only a phantom PI on an uncatchable ball made this game close. Shouldn't have ever gotten to that point because the D was insane today. And guess what guys? You can win games on D. i know it's been a while, but it is possible, and it just happened.

Even Browns fans see we have a Coach.

I’lll take the intra-conference win but the truth is the Steelers really deserved to lose that game. With four minutes left, they played like they were ahead by two scores instead of two points.

Well Brandon I beg to differ about the HC making adjustments. They have a defense almost completely composed of 1st round talent. And yes they are finally better. But still give up WAY TOO MUCH.

" Steelers were lucky they were playing a second...3rd string". Lol. How about the colts being lucky they were playing a 5 time starter of the old NFL.

Game ball for me goes to TJ Watt. Of all the bitching about our poor draft choices on the D,it's a pleasure to watch this superstar in the making.

Rudolph is a 2nd year player that everyone thinks is a franchise QB. That's different than playing a guy that's been on 8 teams and can't stick because he's so bad.

I expect the QB to at least look the receivers way a few times a game. Mason had zero interest in throwing to the receivers once again this week. You knew every time he dropped back today it was going to Samuels. He's done some nice things, but mostly safe things. I haven't watched and though "franchise QB" yet. I've watched and thought he could have the upside of an Andy Dalton type so far. Maybe as the season progresses we will see a bit more.

I don’t know who the **** thinks he is a franchise QB. What I do know is he is the QB of my team and I am willing to give him a chance to prove himself. Without criticizing every little ******* thing. It’s obvious he’s not Ben. Few are. I do give him credit today for hanging in there when he was about to get clobbered a few times. He does have a calmness about him. Hopefully he can open it up a bit.......he threw tons of long balls successfully in college.

Wasn't no freakin' laces that he missed the kick. it wasn't that Vinateris foot skipped the ground. I put the freakin' "Whammy " on the kicker & the holder as the play unfolded right in my living room.

Not even a game ball my way huh?

Just an FYI....When Robert Horry hit his 3 pointer as time expired against Sacramento in the 2002 NBA Playoffs it was because I didn't move my feet position for the final 6 minutes of the game which lasted about 30 minutes.

Tired of not getting proper recognition for the "Whammy"...

I got robbed out of a game ball

Just watched highlights on NFL.com and on the stuffed run play ( Edmonds) for a loss at the goal line when we settled for 3 (after Samuels actually scored), DeCastro pulled left and Rosie hits last guy on the line. DeCastro was not followed by Edmonds. 66 looks back in disbelief. I think it was a blown play by the RB he bounces outside and it’s him and 66 walking in. The play called not as bad as the result.

This team wins despite Tomlins head shakers..

NFL needs full time professional referees like the NHL.
