This game was a tale of 2 halves. In the first half the Steelers could do no wrong......24 points at the half.....everything seemed to work....I don't even know if Jordan Berry punted in the first half. The second half was a completely different story. Before our last drive which ended with an INT in the endzone on a pass intended for Juju our Steelers had just 55 yds total offense up til that drive at the end of the game. The difference in this game was the Steelers ability keep Derrick Henry bottled up for most of the game....especially in the screen passing game Henry caught 2 passes for 3 yds. Gotta give credit to Keith Butler and Coach Tomlin for getting our Defense prepared....Tannehill and Henry have been able to create big plays from the Screen Passing game but not today.....there was always a Steeler LB'er right on Henry. Steelers didn't create a turnover or put up big sack numbers today but they did get good pressure on Tannehill and rush several of his throws on key 3rd down situations. I knew Tennessee wouldn't lay down in the 2nd Half despite a rough opening drive to start the half. They have so many weapons on Defense and the best RB in the NFL to go with an excellent WR group. Tennessee is a very good team and very physical in their play, I wouldn't be surprised to see them again in the playoffs but this win was HUGE for the Steelers with regards to playoff seeding. I can't remember the last time the Steelers were Minus 3 in the Turnover Differential and won a game, does anyone know? I'm a bit shocked we didn't even hear James Washington's name called today....no balls even thrown at him the whole game. A few other random thoughts on this game.....don't look now but Alejandro Villaneuva is quietly have a very good season at LT....protecting Ben's blind side. Also Terrell Edmunds seems like his play this season has improved to the point where he is no longer a liability in the secondary. Robert Spillane absolutely stood up Derrick Henry at the Goal Line on 3rd down....was a beautiful effort by Spillane who was a little shaken up after the play but he really stuck it to Henry. Minkah Fitzpatrick took a terrible angle on that long TD pass to AJ Brown....not quite sure what he was thinking there. Ben had the worst half of football this season in the 2nd half of this game but I'm not going to hammer him for his performance.....He looked unstoppable in the first half and our Steelers were 13 for 18 on 3rd down conversions. So were 6-0 for the first time since 1978.....this just feels surreal........Bring on Crybaugh & The Ratbirds! Let's **** UP Jackson and knock his punk *** into next season!

Tomlin gave no injury updates in his Post Game Presser:
Chucks Okorafor- Was able to go back in but suffered a knee spraing
Robert Spillane - Shoulder was able to go back in at the end of the game
Dionte Johnson - Knee/Calf injury.....got hurt came back on last drive...went out with injury again
Chris Wormley - saw him go down with some type of leg or knee injury and didn't return

Game Balls:
Vince Williams - He was all over the field today and a key contributor of keeping Derrick Henry in check for most of the game. 9 tackles, 1 sack & 2 TFL
TJ Watt - 4 tackles, 1 sack 3 TFL
Juju Smith Schuster - 9 rec 85 yds
Dionte Johnson - 9 for 80 yds 2 TD's
James Conner - 20 carries 82 yds, 3 rec for 29 yds
Ray-Ray McCloud - Nice 57yd Punt Return....if he cut it the other way he goes for the TD
Eric Ebron - 6 rec for 60yds
Cam Sutton - Great play today filling in for Mike Hilton - 2 pass defenses today on key 3rd down plays
Keith Butler & Mike Tomlin - Good job keeping our Defense focused of where Derrick Henry was on the field at all times.......it was a difference make in the game today.
Stephen Gostkowski - Doug Brien is still my favorite non-Steelers FG kicker but your moving up the rankings!

Game Goats:
Hey we won! No Goats today!

FU's:
FU - Mike Vrabel you are the MOST HATED....Ex-Steeler player and I hate you now more than ever! Your connections to the Cheating Dynasty "'*'s" make me sick to my stomach....**** YOU!

Good list of game balls.

Goats:
-Bud Dupree-went against a backup LT and he should've feasted...or at least appeared on the stat sheet
-Henry Mondeaux-outside a good block playing fullback, a forgettable game. In fact, Whoever made the personnel decision to have Wormley and Mondeaux get a significant number of snaps on the Titans last TD drive deserves to be on the goat list as well.

1st half Ben was lights out.. 2nd half Ben got a little impatient. Some lucky tips just didn't go our way either. We had chances at some turnovers and we didn't get the bounces.. bottom line, we won.

I honestly forgot Wormley was even on the team.

Actually, Bud spent a good portion of the game doing what he doesn't do well. Playing inside as an ILB-type. Didn't understand the move while I was seeing it. But, hey, they held Henry to basically **** and won the game.

Bud Spent most of the game spied on Henry, he did exactly what they needed him to do. Keep him contained.

My game ball goes to the whole team. They need to finish when they have to finish early, when they have an early lead. Put them away.

Do not like the 8-10 yard cushions when they were up by three with two minutes left. Obvious four down territory, you give a team 8-10 yard cushions in today’s NFL, they’re almost certain to eventually convert and end up in FG territory.

They won I'm not going to over analyze too much. Ben had some bad decisions today wrapped up in some bad play calling. The INT before half was the most mind numbing. Spread them out and run for 5 then spike. Boz has been very good. Line up pass and hold guys on snap count, end up with false start. Go for the endzone when 15 and a spike was still in play. Brutal. The interception on the last derive before the miss. Again terrible.
Fitzpatrick is still not playing worth a ****. Terrible angle and too ****** deep on the Brown TD. Bad PI on fourth down. Other than that he just played a mile out of the frame.
Refs were horrendous. Probably most egregious was what became a nothing play. Juju caught a first down and they must have signaled first down cause they moved the sticks and than decided he was a yard short. OK if you replayed and said he was a foot short. No ******* way he was a yard.

The two slips on our last drive in the third quarter really killed that drive and gave tenn momentum. First down Conner slips as he cuts for no gain. He gets min 3 yards without the slip. Second down, Ben throws to Johnson on a slant, Johnson had his man beat but slipped as the ball got to him. It would have been a first. It threw the rhythm off quite a bit.

But it's little plays like this that can have a bigger impact than they should. I don't think Ben got impatient in the second half, I do think they got conservative with their play calling. Tenn came up closer to the line and we didn't try to take advantage with any play action, or double moves.

The game came down to the cliche "a game of inches"

Game Balls: Conner, JuJu, Johnson, Ebron, Watt and Spillane (nice game in your 1st start against a beast of a back)

Goats: Ben (didn't play poorly by any stretch but he knows better), Minkah (poor angle and missed tackle on long TD, penalty to keep a drive alive and he could have knocked down or simply caught the tipped ball but he went for the big catch and big return)

FUs: Every referee in the league, they are just horrible, week-in and week-oyt.

Bizzare: win the toss and take the ball on the road? whiskey-tango-foxtrot There is no momentum to start a game but in the third quarter if you may be able to keep your momentum going or quell the opponents momentum. I would never take the ball to start a game if I win the toss.

oh ... He may have played a little poorly.

As for taking the ball, I think the game plan was to keep the offense on the field and score, keeping Henry on the sideline. Precisely what they did.

So, wait...you're upset that they took the ball and overcame twenty-five yards of penalties (on one guy) to actually score a touchdown on their opening drive for the first time in 24 games?

Seems to me those extra points came in handy in their 3-point win.

Game Ball for me? Henry Mondeaux. First game ever as a Steeler.

1) knocked out 2 **** linemen as a fullback on Snell's run
2) Got snaps on D
3) Got Snaps on ST

He got some penalties, but it's his first game. I can see why the Steelers are geeked about this guy. We have our own Refrigerator Perry!!!!

Blame Ben

My thinking when we took the ball was that we wanted to get the lead to keep Derek henry out of the equation. At Ben’s post game press conference he said he knew last night they were taking the ball first in order to keep Henry off the field. He went on to say that he told Tomlin that we would be taking the ball first if we won the toss and we would choose to receive and if we lost the toss the Titans would defer. So either way Ben was very confident we would have the ball first.

I was at the game, and there were so many bad penalties thrown. Ridiculous. The 4th & Goal holding call on Minkha was total BS. He got picked by the TE at the LOS and pushed into the receiver. So blatantly obvious they only showed it on the Jumbotron once because the Titans staff knew it was a BS and wasn’t going to give a chance to be seen again.

6 holding calls. I think Shaun Hochili’s crew has the highest average called per game now.

The offensive PI on Samuels was ridiculous as well. The exact same play call on the 4th down flag, except Samuels wasn’t setting a pick and was within 5 yds of the LOS.

JuJu having 3 no calls for PI.....some of the Titan fans in my section even commented they were getting help. Glad for the win, but officiating made it more close than it was. Of Note, 15k in the stands with 50% were Steelers fans. Even in a pandemic....we travel very well.

I believe there is a large following that lives there. Not that some didn't travel. Probably a healthy mix of both.
