For the first time in a very very very long time, I dont have much hope or enthusiasm for next year. The Steelers will find a way to suck in an area that they did not suck in this year. I bet the defense completely goes in the tank next year. Special teams start giving up TDs again etc...It is always something with this team. When you think they have something fixed, they move the needle again and **** you over. I am just exhausted. I watched The King Of Queens marathon when the Rats scored 16 points. I am just tired of the bullshit. I will watch until they start the same Ol bullshit, then I turn the TV.

It's called pattern recognition. If we keep the same coaching staff, Minkah will definitely regress, along with the rest of the squad. Watt will keep being a stud on the pass rush, but we'll find a way to make him fail some other way.

It's not like they're getting to championship games every other year either. I at least had that with Cowhers teams. They came prepared. They beat the **** out of bad teams. They played a physical smashmouth brand on both sides of the ball.
What the team has morphed into is always just half a team in any given year.

That's because it takes focusing 8 first round picks for this coaching staff to build a successful facet of a football team. Our oline was the worst in the league for years then came all the first round picks at the expense of the rest of the team. Then the defense was terrible for years then came focusing every first round pick just to become decent. Throw in a couple misses in Burns and Ziggy Hood (and likely Edmunds) and losing Shazier and the team was set back years when it's clear these coaches can only win with a team loaded of first round picks or Ben basically carrying the team to wins.
Looking at the Ravens, they are stacked at RB, TE, LB, WR, CB, etc. Their backups kicked our *****. We can only hope that L. Jackson continues to play at a very high level and breaks their cap with his next contract.
Our OL needs overhauled, along with a good OL coach. We need a #1 Back, #1 WR and a TE worth a damn. QB is another story. There are many great unknowns going into 2020.

I hear ya, but what's the point of a stud TE if coaches fail to recognize their existence? Logic would dictate you go to your TE more with backup QBs for "easy" completions yet the opposite happened.
Yep its always something...I been saying it for 10 years now....
Always a glaring weakness that never seems to get fixed or at least patched up through coaching.
And then, if all else fails injuries or player conduct will torpedo the ship.
is that on the coaches or the back-up QBs that don't throw to the TEs? Ben had good chemistry with his TEs.

Maybe both but definitely scheme is a big part of the reason.
Doesn't matter what any of us think on this matter, we don't run the team; obviously.
A good RT and bring back Finney could go a long ways in helping this Oline. That and a new Oline coach. One with experience.
