Game Balls, Game Goats, & FU's............@ Jets..........

He gets my vote for Steelers ROY over Devin Bush. We’ll never know what two players the Steelers would have ended up with had they not traded up for Bush, but looking back I’m seriously questioning whether if it was the right move. Myles Sanders would have come in handy this season.
Bush has had a solid season. His coverage has improved and his speed helps the D. Plus he is still a rookie. I don't question the move at all.

So sick of hearing about Tomlin at this point in a season with so many injuries. He has done a fantastic job this year keeping us even close to contention and some of you will never give him credit for it.

Today’s game proved that the only way the Steelers win games is with turnovers. If you can attribute that to coaching, yes, Tomlin deserves credit for the 8-7 team.

I said early on the Edmunds should have bulked up and played a hybrid LB role.

If Fichtner is back next year, we will finish 8-8 at best. We need him gone and we need a #1 receiver. Also Edmunds needs someone to teach him how to play safety.

This offensive line has regressed. Makes me wonder how much Munchak coaches and corrected in real time during games. Big Al not near as good nor Pouncy. I think we see now just how big a deal he was to this Oline and the team as a whole.

Won’t argue your point but will only say, hard to evaluate a line when you do t have a threat to throw.

My point is we wouldn’t even have the chance to win with turnovers if the team had folded. He kept this team up and gave them an opportunity to compete. We easily could have tanked not made the trade for Minkah but he kept them together and playing hard despite severe deficiencies on the offense from losing players off season and due to horrendous injuries. This season and I stress this season Tomlin has earned some respect. Next season is a whole new discussion. Do you honestly think the talent on this offense with all the injuries and no Ben is worthy of even being 8-7? Tomlin for better or worse has willed this team to scrapping out wins.

Now if next year with this defense and and healthy Ben we are struggling them by all means go back to your bashing. Even after a terrible start by Hodges, Tomlin’s team never gave up and fought on. We were a few inches from having a chance to win. By all rights this team should not have won 5 games with the injuries we have. We are not entitled to win every season. We are not gods gift to the NFL. We are spoiled as a fan base with the successes we have had on top of the consistency with which we manage to be competitive every year in a system that is hard to be consistent in with free agency rules and salary cap.

I'm sick of injuries being the excuse for bad coaching. Think about this. The entire defense is filled with 1st rounders. They even traded for another #1 pick in Fitz. On offense the entire OL has been relatively health. JuJu was injured but not all year. Conner is always hurt.

Fact is that most teams don't have a Ben anyway. Most teams have injuries. The Steelers have been healthy for years. The league is filled with injuries, young players, rookies, ETC. It's an excuse that Tomlin couldn't win this year because of injuries that most teams deal with all the time. And they don't have the talent the Steelers have either.

Just another season of no playoffs and no chance at No.7.

That's the ultimate FU.

Most teams have coaches that haven’t won ****. Havent won PO games, haven’t won a SB. What maybe 6 active coaches that have won a SB, 5 if we *****. Of those is Doug Peterson of the Eagles. They wanted him canned one year after he won.

This isn’t meant to be a MT is amazing post, but it’s just a is the grass greener?

We had the players on the field to be able to put up more than 10 points this week and last. Fichtner is garbage and we need to bring in someone good next year to push Ben in his remaining season or two.

What has Tomlin done in the last 10 years?

Not a damn thing.

First of all, it was Tomlin and his truly offensive coaching staff who put in the run-first failure of a game plan in place against the #2 rush defense in the league. When you run it up the middle on first down with eight defenders in the box and lose a yard, then you run it up the middle on second down with eight guys in the box and gain one yard, to set up a 3rd-and-10, what can you possibly expect from a 3rd/4th string quarterback when the Jets inevitably bring a blitz? Just what you described -- a terrible start.

Secondly, why wouldn't the team fight back? They were playing some also-ran, 5-9 team, not the '85 Bears. Even with all of the injuries, the Steelers were still 3 point favorites in this game. You want to live in Tomlin's jock because they didn't roll over after they were down 10 points against the Jets? Jesus.

Ummm...the great coach Tomlin says injuries are a part of the game, next man up...but you and him use it an excuse

You look at the difference between MT regular season vs post season....645 and .533. Then look at Harbaugh. ,613 and ,634 ish. Harbaugh's coaching and outcomes are very consistent. Then you look back at Tomlins and realize the impact of the sloppy coaching, play calling, execution of MT's reign. I think it is time for new leadership from Colbert on down.

The Steelers are one of a handful of teams that can win the SB because of how the team is run from the top down. The bungles, Clowns, Detroit, SD, ETC.. are never going to win a SB because their FO is horrible. Only a handful of teams each year have the talent, coaching, and FO to win. We've had the talent and the FO. We're missing a piece.

Please don't tell me nobody else in the world can not win a SB with all this talent. Seriously what has Tomlin done in the past 10 years that you couldn't get somewhere else? They've been loaded on offense and defense for years. HOF QB, best WR, best RB, best OL, one of the best DLs ETC.. Seriously? What else does he need? HOFers at every single position?

He's going to win 8 or 9 games this year. But there are other teams with a lot less talent that are winning:

Look at the Colts. Lost their QB right before the season to retirement. They don't have the talent on D that we have. They have 14 players on IR. Including their PK. Can you imagine the Steelers without Bos? Their #1 WR has played in 10 games (just like JuJu). He and several others are hurt and missing games and don't count on the IR roster. But they have played a tougher schedule than we have and could be 8-8 if they beat Jax. They could tie us even though they had a harder schedule, more injuries, and nowhere near the talent.

Fitcher must go with ben back he can call his own plays but with the young qb's i saw very limited attempt to get juju and vance involved run cance up the seem or juju on a slant a ******* te screen.

This team can’t even score more then 28 points. It’s been over a YEAR!

Their game plans suck. They play calling sucks.

Injuries or not, it’s the same **** every week.

They look so unprepared it’s pathetic.

That is because we have a coach the players like, not a coach the players respect.

Bullshit. No QB no healthy veterans receivers, No healthy veteran RB's a capable but aging line with extreme inexperience at QB and no ability to get in a rhythm is not all on the coaches. Randy F. has been very suspect at play calling but what the hell do you really expect? Our offense is being put together by Hawkeye and BJ at the MASH unit. I really think it is to be expected we are going to have trouble o offense in this situation. Like I said earlier be ******* happy Tomlin has kept this team where it is. We should have been eliminated weeks ago based on the team we are fielding on offense.

Have you even looked around the league? All teams deal with this. The reason the Steelers are even in this position is because they played 7 games against 1st year coaches, multiple games against backup or rookie QBs, and 3 games against winless teams. They lost to the Jets.

BTW have you seen the Jets injury list? I guess not. I'm sick of these excuses. BTW here's the Jets injury report:

Since scoring 23 points in Week 5 against Baltimore (when Mason got knocked out), here is the offensive scoring totals:
17 at San Diego
19 vs. Indianapolis
10 vs. Los Angeles
7 at Cleveland
16 at Cincinnati
20 vs. Cleveland
16 at Arizona
10 vs. Buffalo
10 at New York

That's 13.4 points per game over their last 9 games. All seven offenses ranked below the Steelers in PPG scored at least 28 one time during that same stretch. Six of them scored over 30.

Is that counting defensive scores and / or the johnson punt return?

Game Balls: Watt, Fitz, Durpee, Heyward.
Game Goats: Berry I guess. Not gonna bag on the offense when it's 2/3 backups and practice squad guys who play like backups and practice squad guys. It is what it is, someone once said.
FU's: Not gonna let it bother me. See Game Goats above.

I'm curious why does Fitzpatrick get a game ball. Yeah it was Edmund's who got torched for the TD but it was Fitzpatrick's ridiculous third down PI on what should have been a pick that extended that drive. And I cant think.of one other play he made that game. Or does he just get automatic passes.

Which is hard, because the line is pretty ******* low.

The cowboys have one less win in that time and everyone considers them a joke. The Steelers and mike tomlin are in the cowboys category. The jets lmfao
