Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's.........@ Giants.....Week 1

Steelers don't need to be the better team now, but come the playoffs they need be the better team. Lot of time between here and there but they have the pieces to go far. Let us see what the coaching can do when all the pieces are in place.

I will say Slayton is a legit NFL WR. He's going to be very good for years to come. He does everything well and has natural soft hands. Only in year 2, this kid is going to be a beast for years.

Yeah I was dissapointed with the DB play. But my hope is that they kinda sold out against Barclay and exposed their back end. If you have a lot of one on one coverage and gaps between LB and DBs that could happen.

And again, that was a money throw by their QB

Exactly. The Steelers committed to taking away Saquon and daring the Giants WRs to beat them. They made a few plays and let's not forget that there was no preseason so a few missed assignments was to be expected.

The Chiefs defense is not great. They can rush the passer but that secondary can e be exploited.

The Ravens OL is not as good as last year. Let's see if Lamar Jackson becomes a better passer. He feasts on bad defenses but he did struggle against good ones. The Steelers nearly beat the ravens with Duck last year. Jackson still struggles with accuracy.

In any case, the Chiefs and Ravens are the only teams you can argue are better than the steelers. Who else? Brees looks like his arm is shot. So does Brady. The Cowboys defense is nothing special. The 49ers are limited by Jimmy Grapenuts.

The Steelers are the most versatile team in the NFL. Their defense has size and power to play the run and they have speed against the pass. Similarly, the steeler offense can ground and pound with Conner and Snell. They can play 2 TE or they can go 4 wide.

The 49ers and Ravens struggle if the game doesn't go by their plans. They are the Kordell Steelers. The Chierfs are dangerous because that offense can be unstoppable and the defense is just good enough to get a few stops and win the game.

Couldn't agree more about Lamar, I went back and forth with Arthur Moats on twitter about Lamar, he makes great throws when guys are wide open or behind the defense, let me know when he starts making throws into tight windows consistently, because that's what good defenses are going to force him to do

game ball to the team for their social justice position. Now, im not in favor of any of it. I'm not in favor of the whole NFL embrace of BLM. But I appreciate the way the team did it. If there had to me some showing, the Steelers did it right.

FU to Eric Ebron. Remember its bigger than us fans and apparently bigger than the teams way.

Game looked like a preseason game with all starters. I expect it will get better.

Kudos to Butler for coming up with some nice creative blitzing. I cant believe they couldn't get off the field for that drive, but they bent and didn't break.

Game ball to benny snell. I'm not sure what changed when Conner came out. But snell ran tough, and apparently with NFL speed. Behind a raw O'line .

It was real nice seeing Highsmith and Claypool get playing time and do well.

There is work to do on Tackling and with the Oline gelling. But that's normal for this early with no preseason games I guess.

Four of the next 5 games are at home. We need these because we gotta go to that Armpit of America Baltimore after that, and there is much work to do.

5-1 or 6-0 headed into Stinkmore??? I don't see a worse record...

- Snell seemed way more quick, when he outran peppers I was like "****, that would've never happened last season's.

- that claypool catch on the sideline dragging his feet... That's a high level play from the rookie WR, amazing catch.

- sounds like a cliche but Washington is definitely country strong, he wasn't gonna be denied his TD, posterized those 2 defenders.

- slants + DJ = money plays, #18 is a threat to break out on every catch on the run he make.

- Kudos to the Oline, despite missing a probowler and having new players they held their own and gave Ben enough time to make his magic, giving them time to gel they can become a strength again.

Bruh!

I was thinking early this morning...(yeah, odd)...I don't know about all of you, but our offense by October is going to be SUPER SCARY!!! A healthy Ben with Juju (coming back to full form), DJ (he ain't AB (yet) but he's a monster on crossing patterns and come back routes, Washington is just getting better and better (country strong is right!). I hate that I didn't like the Claypool pick because he's gonna be special (I really like Megatron Jr.); Ebron is also getting open and making noise - hopefully Ol' Mac Donald joins the show. If JC can come back from injury - wow. But JaySam and Snell can provide his output in running and catching out of the back field...

I'm excited!!!

That was a fantastic catch and perhaps one that no other steeler receiver would make. Although Washington was usually relatable last night, I'd rather see his most of his targets go to Claypool.

We have a big receiver with speed ( Claypool ), an ultra-quick and smooth route runner ( Johnson ), and a chain mover red zone threat ( Ju-Ju )

It will be up to Randy Fichtner to line them up against the DB's where the mismatches are greatest.

Santonio Holmes says, "hi"...

I can’t agree with that. I think both KC and Baltimore are better. The Steelers will have two chances to prove everyone wrong against Baltimore. Unfortunately, they don’t play KC this season. Hope to see that match up in the playoffs.

We disagree, yet again...

Methinks that by the time we play the Ravens (both games) our defense will be LIGHT YEARS BETTER than what we saw on Monday night. Lamar looked like Akili Smith when he played us in the first game last year. Our defense is built to stop him - Devin Bush will be the key factor in those games. And lest ye forget - the Ravens lost an All-Pro/Pro Bowl safety...it's gonna take some time for them to gel on D.

Should we get to the AFCCG against KC...

It'll be a shoot out and I fully expect experience to the victor in that game.

Steelers win...

Yeah I was dissapointed with the DB play. But my hope is that they kinda sold out against Barclay and exposed their back end. If you have a lot of one on one coverage and gaps between LB and DBs that could happen.

It was a strange play the young Daniel took advantage of - he saw that we didn't have any safeties over the top and Slayton ran a beautiful post pattern beating Joe. You can best believe that it will be fixed moving forward...

As I read these over today, there is one player not mentioned for doing his job. Mr.Pouncey. May those ****** up snaps from last season be done with.
