Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's.........@ Bungles......

We beat dem Bungles!!! Great road win for our Steelers today. Knew this would be a tough game for our Steelers but they stayed focused and even after Cincy took a late lead I felt that Ben would lead us to victory. This was without question Ben's most complete game of the season so far vs the best Defense we've played all season. Nice to go into the BYE week on a winning note.....still worried about our Defense going forward.....very little presure from our OLB's is just NOT GOOD. I know LeVeon Bell is supposed to come back to the team this season....but is it just me or does anyone else not really care about Bell's return either? I really think James Conner has more than done enough to keep his playing time. I'm sure they'll use LeVeon if he does return but I really don't care about him anymore.....if he helps us win.....so be it....but I really am not going to hold my breath.

Oh and this never gets old!


Game Balls:
Ben Roethlisberger - HIs most complete game this season so far. He took what the Defense was giving him...great road win for the team. Great Audible by Ben on the AB's TD catch and run.
James Conner - Another clutch performance 129 yds overall
Steelers O-line - Especially Pouncey but this O-line has played lights out for two weeks in a row. Ben had all day back there!
Juju Smith Schuster - Great clutch catches today....plus heads up recovering McDonald's fumble near the Goal Line in the 4th QTR.
Antonio Brown - The wi-fi connection seems to be getting better week in week out.....I'll be interested to see if LeVeon Bell makes a difference in the passing game and helps free AB up from Double Teams
Joe Haden - Did a pretty nice job out there on the Bungles WR's.....should have had at least one INT, possibly two....I guess that's why he a DB.
Javon Hargrave - When Hargrave was in the game he was very disruptive today....nice game Javon
Jordan Berry - This kid is so inconsistent but that 69 yd punt he had in the first half....flipped the field for our Steelers.....that was HUGE!
Vance McDonald - He was big early.....catching some clutch throws to keep the chains moving! Seeing him run through Burfict on one of his catches was very satisfying...especially seeing Burfict go off the field after the play.


Game Goats:
Artie Burns - No presence of mind on the football field. A complete train wreck out there.....watch Tyler Boyd's 2nd TD catch. Burns just kept backpedaling right out of the play....he needs to know here he is on the football field. This guy is a BUST!


FU's:
Vontaze Burfict - This guy still plays the game like he's headhunting.....Helmet to Helmet on AB in the 2nd half was absolutely ridiculous.....no penalty either. He was headhunting all day. Nice to see McDonald give him a dose of his own medicine!
 
More goats: The Refs deserve a FU. Conner had that touchdown, and I saw other calls on us that were BS.

Tomlin is a goat too. Someone should take away his red flag privileges. He has no clue when the challenge and when not to. Ben bailed him out as usual. For the next game, not more Linebackers on Receivers in coverage, okay?
 
To be fair I thought he was challenging to give the o time to get a play and maybe, maybe get it overturned. It was too obvious it wasn’t a FD. Then when the punter came out I’m like wtf. Dumb challenge for sure

Ben in the clutch. This is a Ben we haven’t seen in quite a while. Perhaps this 4th quarter comeback boosts his confidence back to what it once was.

The offensive li;e for keeping Ben’s uniform clean. 2 weeks in a row.

Connor. Le’Veon who?

Haden. Playing all pro for the past couple of games against 2 of the best receivers in the game.

Boo to Butler. When you went to the zone, that’s when Dalton picked you apart.

All in all, good game.

I think we got away with a pick on the winning TD.

Just for that....I can not give them a FU.
 
Goat, whoever the dumb *** coach is that has Boswell kicking short on kick offs? The last two are proof he can kick it deep at will, why ever give ST a chance to blow coverage like they were and in turn, field position?

I was telling everyone in our house we got away with the *Patsies patented pick play.
 
Too bad for Burns. He has the physical attributes go be a very good corner. He lacks the mental skill that is needed. His errors are very costly.

I thought that at first, too. However, better plan would have been to libe up to go for it and try to get them to jump. Or qb sneak.

Tomlin kept his team focused when they went down with less than 2 min left, right? Oh, wait, no. Only if they had fallen apart on O woupd tomlin have had anything to do with it. Right?
 
Not perfect by any means but was a fun game overall to watch. Like a lot of folks I was confident we were going to win with that much time and 3 timeouts and we were playing Ben's gals.

I appreciate the Cincinnati games more than all others. They are the only other team that really remain from the old AFC Central.

first time I saw it I thought so also,, but they made contact within the 5 yards off the OL and then he just continued blocking as Brown caught the ball. It was close though....
 
The refs gave us a makeup call on that pic by Hunter. JC should have had a TD.

O-Line was dominant today.

Tombert looks pretty ******* smart for nabbing Connor in the 3rd round...I'll tell you that.

edit: Coolie is right though...5 yards.

******* right. bB pulled it off in the 1st before someone called a TO. That why I always liked Peyton, seen the opportunity - and took it. One ******* yard line up and push it
 
game ball. = Offensive line. Kept ben up right, opened some holes. I love the pulls of the guards and pouncy. (except for AV putting his hands up when conner was on the 1/2 yd line.
= joe haden outstanding.
= boz didn't miss. Hopefully on a path of being what we knew.
= Ben. For taking what was given by the defense.
= Bungle D. For doing a lot of things right to stop us. (whatever, our offense played pretty well. they did a good job)
= McDonald. The guy has a warriors heart. yeah he fumbled on 3rd down late . **** happens. Wouldn't have happened if he turtled up like Jesse James would have and got no where. He was trying to make it happen.


Goats = Chickillo blows on K/O coverage. Just saying.
= Butler for doing **** that don't work and sticking with it.
= Danny smith or whatever the **** his gum chewing name is. Get it together.

**** you = Burfict. That guy on every play leads with his head to either cause injury or a flag. I cant believe he wasn't flagged more. Don't be suprized Monday when The Rog throws down some currency profilactic.
= Butlers choice of defensive schemes.
= the defensive line. Didn't do much today
= Bud Dupree , until he starts getting stops and sacks and tackles. He sucks ***.
 
Refs get the goat, for not reviewing the Conner's TD, the helmet non call won Brown who they the officials made leave the game for the helmet hits as well as the two on one play on Conner's. The biggest game goat goes to Burns. Burns needs to be let go on this bye week and bring anyone in that can't do any worse than Burns has. to play Cb

Balls goes to Williams, Hadden, Conner's all three TE's Ben for calling THE PLAY to Brown. .
 
The non challenge on the Connor play is to big of a play not to challenge. You challenge an iffy 3rd down catch in your own end, but elect not to challenge a possible td that was easily either a TD or better spot.

And the other thing was having Vince Williams on the field for Cincys go ahead TD, you know they were going to be throwing.
