As I sit gathering myself in the aftermath of this game, it struck me how life can be so ironic sometimes...
Almost exactly three months ago we were all sitting here nursing our wounds after losing a heartbreaker to the Ravens... a loss that featured some of the worst examples of field goal kicking from Josh Scobee. After the debacle, Scobee is cut and the Steelers bring in an untried kicker, Chris Boswell, who had never kicked in an NFL regular season game.
Flash forward to today, and that untried kicker coolly and calmly boots four field goals, including a clutch 35-yarder to win the game with 18 seconds left.
If Scobee doesn't shank just about everything in the Ravens game, who knows what he would have done the remainder of the season... and I would have been swallowing much harder tonight than I was with Boswell in there.
I guess sometimes you CAN turn a negative into a positive!
