WTF.......Performance usually come first, then controversy.

We have had neither.

Conner was also limited in practice so he hasn't even been ruled out yet for the week. Not sure I am buying overtaking JC, now Jaysam on the other hand....

Snell hasn’t done anything to warrant a role as a featured back. Doesn’t mean he can’t... but hasn’t earned it.

Conner’s season is a definite disappointment—combined injury and no passing threat has been biggest difference from last year—and quite frankly old Lev Bell wouldn’t be commanding $15 mill a year based on his Jets production without a Big Ben either.

The jury is most definitely out on his reliability to stay healthy. When he is; he’s proven to be a player. Unfortunately that means squat from sidelines.

With that 2nd round pick next year—I’m hoping we go RB or TE (provided one is available worth it).

Conner's shoulder is jacked up good. In will only take a game to mess it all back up. I'd let him heal as long as possible. The other rbs definitely haven't shown enough yet to be feature backs.

Love the mention of Bell as he is sucking in NY. He hasn't cracked 70 yards rushing in a game all freaking year. Dude is catching some balls but they paid him as a top back and I'm not sure he's even in the top 10 this year.

Conner has been running hard and is still a very good pass catcher. The O-line and play calling sucked for him trying to get anywhere on the field and then the injuries. I hate using a RB by committee approach as I think your main RB needs 20 touches a game but that seems to be where we're headed.

I think Snell will be the feature back sooner rather than later. Love Conner, but he gets hurt a bit too much. If Snell has the chance Conner has had, I'd bet he will show a lot more than he has. He ran hard and closed the game out last week. Just after knee surgery. Snell is not the kind of back who can play 5-6 snaps and show his stuff, he needs to establish a rhythm. We have not had a 'closer' since Bus. I like Whyte as well. They could be a great tandem. Just my opinion. I am a bit jaded because Snell is a local product (central Ohio) and I want him to shine.

Snell won't have to ''take'' Connor's job, he just has to be there and he'll play plenty as the #2 back when Connor is hurt.

Shoulders don't heal over night. James Conner has shoulder problems that won't heal until the off season. Wouldn't surprise me if he is put in IR before end of season.

Snell, right now, is the best we have. I say give him a full load and definately mix J-Sam and Wyte in appropriately. The biggest obstacle is OC play calling to benefit both running and passing. This falasy of thinking we are going to beat 8-9 in the box consistantly just t'aint happening. Flare outs, pulling sweeps, hit the tackle elgible pass,............. Not just hand off into awaiting tacklers on our side of the line.

A more solid game plan to their weakness, means our OC needs to step up his ability, can you hear me RANDY.

I see us beating these brown ******** by 8

At this point, I'd probably just let Conner heal up for next season. This team doesn't need a No. 1 running back, they just need know how to use their stable of running backs. I'd rather see the Steelers start to replenish the offensive line because they'll start to have to win games with running and defense again.

ESPN has 47 running backs ranked (to qualify, a player must have at least 6.25 attempts per team's games played) on its rushing leaders page. Bell ranks 46th in YPA, 26th in yards per games, 28th in touchdowns. He does have 51 receptions, but his 72 YPC average is his lowest since his 6-game season in 2015.

Connor's injuries definitely have put the #1 RB position on the depth chart "in play". I'm not ready to anoint Benny Snail as his successor yet however. He's had one good game. He's a hard inside runner that gets tough yards but he lacks the speed to even get to the corner let alone turn it. Some people are hoping he's the second coming of #36 but I am not convinced (yet).

Conner should sit out the rest of the season. His shoulder will take a long time to heal. As stated earlier, we should see Snell most of the time, and mix in Whyte and Samuel's.

This dude Whyte is gonna pop off a few serious runs here in the last 5 games....

Watch....

The coaches would be fools not to give Whyte the ball at least 8 times vs the browns.

I agree he is our best upside back and one who brings a big play element the others lack.

IMO he’s a serious threat on screens or draws and our lone back who can beat a defender to the corner on the outside.

Coach, when was the last time a Tomlin coached team ran a successful screen pass? Why can't the STEELERS run a screen that actually surprised the opponent. Our play calling doesn't set up or conceal that play as a surprise. It's like the opponents D forces Fitchner to call dictated plays giving them the edge. Nothing original, nothing schemed, nothing set up by previous plays, well you get it.......coaching 101.

If this could change somehow and just improve a little, we could be very dangerous and yes, contend.

Currently ranked 19th in overall rushing yards. To put his season in perspective, he has only 150 yards more thank Conner.....and unlike Conner he's played every game.

Or G or RT or WR. Could make a case for any of the mentioned.
