I completely loathed the Jags back then, as they were in our div. and were the better team in just a few years of existing. That late 90's club was pretty damn good, on O and D.
They had Brunell, James Stewart, Fred Taylor, Jimmy Smith, Keenan McCardell, Tony Boselli, Kevin Hardy, Bryce Paup, Wynn, Lake, Brackens, Donovin Darius, Kyle Brady (overrated but huge and not bad), Mike Logan, Leon Searcy (Yes, that Leon Searcy, who we got a total of one year out of before he left as a free agent; way to go Cowher), and others. That 1999 team lost to only ONE TEAM all year, but it happened to be TN twice in the regular season and then in the playoffs. This team beat the Fins 62-7 in the playoffs. That is one bad *** beating.
The irony is I got hired and moved by a company in North East FL which is Jags territory. I now __slightly__ root for them, as I don't want the area to lose it's NFL team. Before the NFL came here, I couldn't point out J-Ville on a map. I actually thought the Gators and Jags played in same town (they do once a year, for the UF-GA game). And, oh, how I despised Tom Coughlin back in those days. It turns out, he's a good dude, used to live in my same town and shop at the same stores I do.

Going back to my childhood as well...also in the 70's...Quarterbacks float to the top of the list, kinda like a high fiber crap. Anyway, all of the old AFC Central QB...Kenny Anderson, Brian Sipe and Dan Pastorini. Then Ken Stabler, Dave Casper and Fred Bilitnikoff. Pretty much the entire Raiders team. Roger Staubach, Ed TT Jones, Robert Newhouse, Pretty much the entire Cowboys team. Ozzie Newsome...oh geez...this list could go on for days.

Cribbs. Good one. There were games that all the Browns had was Cribbs, and he seemed to keep them in the game all by himself. He killed us.
Maybe I missed it and he was mentioned, but Kenny Anderson used to give the great Steeler D of the '70s some fits. They solved that problem by knocking him around pretty good in many of those games.
I was in my early teens in 1977 when the Steelers went out to Cincy late in the year and played them in the freezing cold. Anderson threw a TD late to a white receiver that also punted for them, dammit, I can't remember his name. Stuff doesn't stay in this head the way it used to. It was close enough to Christmas that my parents had gotten the tree. I had a bit of an explosion, stomping around and stuff and that ****** tree went over. She had these long pointy type ornaments, and to this day I can still see them on the floor with the tree on top. I almost didn't survive that one.
It was McNally, I think.

Definitely. Tim Tebow and his 10 completions for 340 yards. A ******* 34 yard completion average.
The way that secondary was playing you and I might of had 300. All he had to do was throw it out there enough for guys to run under it. I still think they got themselves all flustered by his running ability it effected the way they did everything. He didn't even end up running that much in the game, did he?

No, he was definitely a UFA pickup by the Jags. Their first year was '95. Searcy played on the '95 Steeler team.
His name was Pat McInally. He was a white WR for the Bengals and he also punted. He was their 3rd WR, because they had Issac Curtis and Billy Brooks. Brooks went off in that game, too, but it was McInally who caught the TD to win it. Brooks could have been a good one, but got hurt if I remember correctly and never was the same.
McInally was a hell of a punter, BTW.

The classic McNair play would see him flushed out of the pocket, and then run towards the sideline just fast enough not to get caught, and then, just before going out of bounds, fire a strike to some receiver 30 yards down field. Would have you ready to throw a brick through the tv. I remember a game where he didn't start because he was injured. Neil was stinking up the joint, and the Steelers had the game in the bag. Then, some Steeler defender thought it would be a good idea to light Neil up. In comes McNair, who preceded to carve us up like a Thanksgiving turkey.
