I like Mac Jones but not in the first. Size and arm strength limitations makes him a day three pick in my opinion. I like his accuracy and understanding of offense and defensive schemes but I feel he will be lucky to be over 6-2 and feel his ball velocity will be on the bottom half of the draft. That said I wouldn’t hate him in round two and would be good with him in round three. I just feel Roethlisberger comes back in 2021 and we give Rudolph 2022. If he fails we draft a QB top 10 if he succeeds we don’t have to. I also could see us snagging Wentz after 2021. Just my opinion but that’s why I didn’t go QB at all. I do think tomorrow is an important day for Rudolph though. If he hasn’t improved since last year I could definitely see an increased priority on QB. I don’t think he needs to throw for 300 with 4 tds but if he throws for 120 with a pick and no tds I feel draft priorities change.
I agree center is a bigger need than most realize. Pouncey has said many times publicly that he retires when Ben retires. So 2021 is probably it for him. And I think Myers is the best center in the draft. But he probably goes late first early second imo. I went OT because I feel between Villanueva, Feiler and Banner at least 1 if not two are gone. If Villanueva goes that leaves Chuks at LT and Feiler and Banner fight it out for RT.
Jaret stature worries me for the NFL. I like his footwork and patience but feel he’s likely a RB2 in the NFL.
Do you think Weaver can drop in coverage? I had him pegged as a 4-3 end due to lack of athleticism.
I love Poljan as a pass catcher but he is horrible at blocking. Would make Ebron look good. I guess if we cut Ebron, club option McDonald we’d just have to sign a good inline blocking TE for the inevitable 1-3 games McDonald is out with injury.
I like Vrabel. NFL bloodline and I feel at the very worst you kick him inside to guard. But you must believe we are signing Villanueva to wait this long for an OT.
I like Stevens but pegged him as an ILB. With Bush and Spillane I didn’t bother looking much into ILB.
Don’t know much about Marshall. Didn’t watch much Arkansas football this year.
Size? The game is changing at quarterback and size isn't as important as is used to be. Look around the NFL, and you'll see many QB's under 6'3" tall, 214 pounds. How may of Jones passes, where he completed 77%+ were either swated or defended? He's 6'3 214, listed. Let's see how he measures up, on the pro day and keep in mind he's only 22 with a later September birthday. If Mac Jones arm was weak, the WR's would be waiting on the ball to get there, that DOES NOT happen. It happens often with Ben these days.

Rudy has size, he sucks.
Sorry, I'm a Ben fan but he's old and not close to being worth 40 million dollars next year. You want to pay that?
I urge you to watch M. Jones decision making, quick release, how he leads receivers, pocket mobility, and very good accuracy. Okay he's doesn't have John Elway's arm, but he's not Jacob Fromm or Danny Wuerfell either. The arm has zip on it and he doesn't float the deep ball. Otherwise he's be picked. Look at his TD to INT ratio!
He was sacked just 11 times in 12 games and runs about a 4.8. Part of the reason is that release that I mentioned and his ability to located 2nd and 3rd options quickly. In one game vs. UGA, he was sacked 3 times. Okay, he still had 417 yards, 4 TD;s 1 INT at a 75% completion rating. This is the SEC. In his first Bowl game, he ripped Norte Dame a new one without even breaking a sweat. On one play he rolled out left and threw it left. Has he ever had a bad game?? He might slip into round two, but won't have him then. The talent at Alabama is excellent and can make a QB look good. This is true, but he looks like a better passer than the other Alabama QB's. Picking QB in round one is a gamble, but it's one we need to take.
Pouncey is toast. Underpowered, seldom pulls, snaps it deep all over the place. We need a new center. DeCastro I think will be okay next year....He'd better be,
Jarrett is a round three steal. Focus on how he follows his blockers, hits the hole ( Inside or outside ) and his speed. I don't know if he can pass block. But at 5'9" tall he's well built, and can break tackles. Lots of top NFL backs historical speaking are 5'9 or 5-10". You can find a good back later in the draft, history shows that.
Weaver might go before round 4. We play our OLB's like Ends, so their ability to drop in coverage hardly factors in unless your TJ Watt.
Polijan IMO has the fame to be our best blocking TE. McDonald is GONE next year. Ebron, we'll see what I said about him the day we picked him up. Eric 1st, team 15th. Yes he can be a talent. He's also a weak blocker who drops his share.
I'm divided on Big Al. We can't afford him ( Likely ) in free agency anyway. As I said before 2021 is the year we need to reload and fix the cap. Take the comp picks in 2022. Ju-ju, and Bud might also go. Same with Filer. I do want to keep Hiton.
Stevens is that hybrid LB/SS who can play ST that Tomlin loves. The game is changing more toward this type of player.
We still need a force in the middle Alualu is a free agent, is he not? Trying to plug a gap in round 7. As for Left Tackle, yes we need one! But I don't think our value will be good in round one or two.
- Thanks Coach.
