For those of you who love to bash Haley

The Bey play is a very common play in that situation, per Batch on the post game, the idea is to get your fastest guy running a drag to get the guy that is covering him lost in the wash and if it's zone, it's to get a LB to try to cover your fastest guy, and usually either your guy can turn the corner or he gets out of bounds.
That was the play that was sent in.

That DOES NOT MATTER! Coryea we know you are defender of all things Ben, but can you not comprehend that you DON'T throw that ball with Butler draped all over Bey in that clock situation?

If Charlie Batch is stupid enough to throw it as well.....good for him.

You throw it away and that stops the clock to give you time to get the kill shot play in on third down, if that's not there you throw it away and go into overtime. BEN AND TOMLIN **** THE BED!

That's all...........

Had Ben & Tomlin had privy to the cheater's defensive call, things may have played out a little differently.

Salute the natiopn

Damn I agree with Elfiero. Well, I never.

How about Chris Carter? He lays it out in a brutally honest way...It's on Tomlin and Ben, it's not rocket science you just have to take the black and gold goggles off for a minute.

Put the blame on who ever you want. The game is over . We lost. We can not change it. Move the **** on please. For Christ sake.

Im not going to say anything. But this vid proves my point

I do think being tackled in bounds could have been a positive. There was plenty of time on the clock to run 2 more plays (FG included). With 2 plays called, being tackled in bounds, you can get your team lined up first, creating confusion, and a mismatch going to the EZ on 3rd down. It didn't happen, but throwing that ball in bounds should not have been a negative with the time left.

Actually the video proves that there was no communication during the video review, why in the hell is Tomlin finally telling Haley if he's tackled in bounds, we have to run another play when we are already lined up to run the second down play? That should've been discussed while the O was on the sidelines during the review

Why when there was more then enough time to get a real play in?? There wasnt a little time there was alot of time to get two plays in. Why call a play when you dont know the result of the first play yet. You had time to see what the result was and then call another play based off the result of the first play. There was time to do it. I dont understand why Ben didnt understand that or needed to be told that. I knew that from where i was. Im done with this.

They were at the 10 yard line, you're telling me they don't have plays that can be run from the 10 or the 8, or the 3? Or even better how about you talk about that on the sidelines, if it's inside the 5 we're doing this if outside the 5 we're doing this? They had almost 4 minutes.
Ben per himself was going to spike it to give us the chance to maybe go for it on 4th down or kick the FG.

Spike for what????????????????????? Spike shouldnt of even been thought about unless a sack happened.

And yes those are all different calls imo

I just said for what, spike it and you have time to decide do we go for the win or tie on 4th down.
I've heard Billick, Cowher, Batch, Zolak all say you have to have at least two calls coming out of the huddle.
I do put that more on Haley, because clear in the Vid you see Tomlin tell Haley if he's tackled in bounds we need to run another play, Haley looks like he barely acknowledged him, but right then Haley should've had a play in mind to call in after the Bey play.

Thats ******* stupid to clock it. It 22 seconds on the clock. Run a play. A real play. There is time to call a play. And if irs not coming in fast enough Ben is more then capable of getting everyone lined up to run a real play. Any other time you want Ben calling the plays..you are on record for saying exactly that. Let Ben call the plays. 22 seconds is an enternity to get a play called. Im really trying to avoid saying Ben panicked by wanting to spike it and by the time he came out of it it was too late to call a real play. There was no need to tell guys in the huddle we are going to spike it if we dont get in the end zone unless the play resulted in a sack. Thats the only scenario a spike would be considered on third down.

Because it's easier to be right in hindsight...

Yeah I'm more than fine with Ben calling the plays, if that's the case the head coach, you know Mike Tomlin should communicate that to him and the offense on the sidelines.
Mike Tomlin is also on record saying that Ben doesn't have the green light all the time, in crucial situations he(Tomlin) likes to have final say. Let me guess this doesn't qualify as a crucial situation?

You have ex coaches and players saying there should've been two plays sent in.

Tomlin said there was latitude for Roethlisberger to spike the ball, which the quarterback said was his “gut instinct.”

“Certainly,” Tomlin said. “There is no script for those moments. … We call plays all the time that he may change at the line of scrimmage.”

Last year he said the opposite, so which do you believe?

Yep I heard that, but you're still missing or ignoring the point. And again I'm fine with him giving Ben control there, but you just had basically a 4 minute timeout. You're sending your #3,4, and #5 wr out on the field, one who is a rookie. That should be communicated to everyone before heading out to the field.
"Hey, guys, if this ball is in bounds we're running another play be ready". It's that simple, then everyone is on the same page.
