For all you Jesse James fans out there

At least he was getting involved in plays.

How many times to we look forward to young players and you never hear their names called during the whole game? I had no issues with his performance for pre-season game #1.

Poor kid must have been up all night going through every mistake he made over and over in his mind, I feel for him. You simply can't have a worse debut performance than what James just put out there. He's got to take this out to the backyard, dig a deep hole, and bury it forever. He's got to bounce back from this. It was mind-numbing watching how things kept snowballing for him. As with most rookies, it'll take him a while to get his bearings, even without such a disastrous start. I hope this makes him a better - and mentally-stronger - player from this point forward.

Personally, I like Tomlin's response to the question of what he would say to James in order to get him back in the right mindset. "Knuckle up. This ain't Saturday football anymore."

Wait, Jesse James had a bad game?. I'm glad this article was posted because I didn't notice while watching the game.

I disagree. He was targeted a lot and dropped two (the second was an interception to Minny) passes that should have been momentum changers. But, eh, it's his first game and he's not 5'9" and 179 lbs...

He's a rookie. He gets a pass for yesterday. He won't get many more though

Oh **** we can still be Jesse James fans right?

Kid had a rough start, but plenty more preseason games to right the ship.

No, apparently not. Jesse James is a bust after 1 preseason game and anybody who thought he was a good 5th round pick must be called out.

I bet the vikes are cutting Trae Waynes today too.

I would not call him a bust. I would say he looks like what he was labeled during the draft a project. He looked bad on a lot of plays last night. He might get better. Archer looked bad his first year but last night looked like he could be a situational player/ part time option which oddly enough was what he was drafted to be in the first place. He might continue to improve as well. I jusst hope for the teams sake James becomes a fast developing project.

First new Tomlinism of the 2015 regular season . . .KNUCKLE UP LMAO!

....with his pedigree obviously if he knuckles up, his play will be above the line, which is what we desire, obviously.

Dupree didn't light it up either, so cut the rooks some slack. First NFL game for them. What's Landry Jones' excuse???

Experience is the key. If Landry was a rookie, I'd feel pretty good about his game, but he's on his 3rd year so I expect more.

Dupree and James didn't have good games but it was their first game. If Jarvis looks like Dupree did then I'm worried.

If he shows improvement I'm OK with his debacle last night. However, you always have to worry about someone who folds under pressure like that. Clearly that was the issue. Hopefully he can overcome it. I'm sure his first college game was equally nerve wracking but he overcame it.

And the second Tomlinism was this is Sunday football not Saturday football. So even with out the cool shades MT is getting close to mid season form. Looks like 8 and 8 will be in the bag.

Going off last night and last night only, 49 and 15 have no business being on an NFL roster, and Jessie James doesn't have any buisiness serving those guys fries.

Now, does that mean he should be cut, that he's a bust, that the other two can't come around? Nope, sure doesn't, just like every damn game, it takes more than one to build on, and these guys will get their shots.

Now, one guy I noticed in the backfield a few times was Zumwalt, but I would have liked to have seen him in against a little better competition to see if he could make any impact. He plays hard, his effort was there on every play.

Time will tell, Standouts last night were Shazier and Boykin, along with 19 (I think it was) who made that insane on armed catch. Oh, and Landry looked like he could maybe get us though a game or two in an emergency situation, but that's about it. (remember who he was throwing to last night)

Problem is he has four better players ahead of him.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Wingman again.

Getting involved in plays? He was the target and dropped them lol

It is only his first pre season game so he gets a pass but saying he was getting involved in plays as a positive is a bit of a stretch.
