Flacco Out for Season

Damn, hate to hear that, much as I hate bmore. Hope flacco has a strong recovery and is back soon

Flacco tore his anterior cruciate ligament and possibly the medial collateral ligament as well in his left knee on the first play of the final drive, when backup left tackle James Hurst accidentally rolled up on him. He handed off on the next two plays while hobbling and spiked the ball to stop the clock for Justin Tucker's 47-yard field goal.

So Flacco handed the ball off on he next two plays afterwards.......that couldn't of helped it.
People have funny ideas about torn knee ligaments. Unless you are an athlete you don't even need that ACL, there are plenty of people walking around without one. You just can't run or cut as hard. The ligiment(s) tore when he bent it. Nothing that happened afterwards did anything.

ACL injury now is a six month injury tops! Unless there's damage to the LCL & PCL like Sean Spence a plain old ACL is six months recovery. Some even recover quicker....remember Rod Woodson?

The Mrs. has a cousin was a starting pitcher in college for four years. He didn't realize he was born without an ACL until he had a physical his freshman year.

What a cluster **** this whole season has been for injuries. I don't even like Flacco and this just pisses me off how many teams are missing their best players. A few more big ones and it will be getting to the point where this season is like watching baseball when the players went on strike.

They are on their way to a #1 pick

Tough break for Flacco. I like to make fun of him and hate on the team, bit hate to see injuries.

Interesting thread, though. Be nice to see it side by side with a Ravens board thread about a Ben injury.

I NEVER wish injury on anybody. But **** the gayvens. Injury is part of the game, deal with it. We have had our share of injuries, and I always hope for full recovery of all those injured. BUT a love fest is out of the question.

Who.....Ride

WE.........RIDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salute the nation

I find it funny that the Ravens Boards seem to have a ton of people calling a fully torn ACL with a potentially torn MCL a 4 to 6 month recovery.... he may gimp through next season but it wont be at 100% for two seasons....

I hate the Ratbirds organization but I respect their players. If this had happened to Mr Bundchen I would be pointing and laughing.

There are a handful of guys who have healed quicker from some ACL tears, but that is not the norm.... even the most successful ACL recoveries, like Pederson a few years back took 7 months.

Woodson did make a recovery at 6 months, but he wasnt at full speed in that game or the whole next year... it wasnt till he went to san fran that he got some of that speed back.

There was a time when this was a career ender, and there was a time when this was a 12 to 18 month injury, but right now its a 6 to 9 month injury. that doesnt take into consideration the excess time to get into game shape, thats just to get medically cleared to play.

The Broncos and Indy are very tough games?
those are the two easier games of the four and the most likely of the two they need. That said the donkeys are 8-2 and the Colts are still fighting for a division. Probably no Luck in that game, but you can damn well bet Hasselback has that game circled and he is still a good QB.

I've never been to a Ravens board but I imagine confetti, laughter, champagne

I stopped over Ravens 24x7.... the tears of their fans were tasty and delicious. They had one thing Flacco was better at Ben than, and that was not getting hurt... and now that is done... at least it gave him an out on this season... I mean, people were going to realize that when not surrounded by grade a top end talent at every position, he is a bland and average guy. Give Ben the offense he has and he looks amazing... give Flacco this offense and he looks good... its why that guy is never getting to the Hall of fame...

Yep. For every game that he makes eye-popping throws and a brilliant game winning drive, he has 2 or 3 where he looks like he has never played football before

In the old days, we would go flood the other boards, just to **** with them....good times, good times....

No ***** given aside (Steelers have had their own ****-fortune), wtf is up w/the NFL this year? Every week is getting more brutal w/position players. w/all the rules geared towards "safer" play.. sure seems counter productive. Even the Brady's are feeling the injury squeeze.

This is significant. Flacco won't be on pace to practice until the end of August at the earliest. If it's the year long rehab, He'll start on the IR to return or PUP.

The Ravens fans and message board are still calling Ben a drama Queen and Big Jen. Saying that he was full of **** with is "so called" ankle injury and came back to play a week later and his MCL only kept him out 4 weeks. Joe is so tough that he stayed in for 2 more snaps.
