Fitz being targeted by Steelers

I would love to see this and I agree it seems like a pipe dream but like some has said the Cheats, Broncos and Gayvens can make moves like this happen we should be able to as well. I think if Fitz wants to really come here it can happen money is not and should not be an issue. We had one of if not the best offense in the league last year and our problem in the last few years is the red zone......man him and Bryant should really fix that huh? I think if we were to get him it wouldn't matter who our rb would be any of us here could run for 5 yds before getting hit cause the defense would have no choice but to play the pass. Can you imagine what Bell will do next year if we were to get Fitz.....holy crap that would be fun to watch.

Now as for the people saying we don't need help at wr I agree but I am hoping our defense can only improve and even if it don't if our offense scores more points then last year that will also help the defense. The other team will become more one sided because they are behind and we would be able to play a lot better then. We do need help in the back end and we do need more pass rush but we have some youth in the front seven so it is not like we have nothing we need to see what Shazier, Tuitt, Zumalt, McCullers and even Jones can do this year. Sprinkle in a fa CB and maybe a safety and maybe we get better on defense as well.
I will be curious to see what happens here with Fitz but I am on board for sure.........

I would like a Ferrari,, but I need a better job and a better garage,,, and some shoes,,, and some money first.

Fitz won't be a Steeler unless he takes a huge discount for his hometown. Pats, hawks, and broncs are more likely landing spots for him.

Unbelievable that three teams more superior than the Steelers could have a better chance...though I don't expect the Seahawks to be one of those teams. They have enough problems with keeping some of their young talent in town.

If he wants money then then buffalo and cleveland is where to go, if wants to contend Denver pittsburgh new england seattle and maybe indy.
if he is willing low base salary with large bonus that is the only way he can come back to the stADIUM WHERE his legacy started from.

Right now we are looking at DHB and Archer competing for the 4th wr job
1 brown 2 bryant 3 wheaton 4 Heward-Bay 5 Archer.

just if fitz is going to want a deal based on his resume and a 30% hometown discount we don't have enough room, with all the holes we I would rather spend the freed up cash from ben @ heyward's deal on S Rolle @ maybe we if we offer Maxwell a 6 or 7 year deal we can spread over the cash enough that for a few years we are cap safe or not at the iceberg. Releases De/Dt Cam Thomas, WR Lance Moore SS Polamalu.

hopefull incoming
CB pick 1 Maxwell Cox Jackson retained McCain
DL Claybord Dan Williams Jerry Hughes
LB retained Moats Harrison
OL Oher worth avet min look as a possible swing OL rt and train him to play OG, specifically LG. With how athletic Adams is if he cannot beat out Gilbert and with Gilbert a high paid OT and with Adams better in pass protection having a agile 6"7 315 OL at LG as opposed to Foster a heavy footed 6"5 330 or plus LG, I would like to see if Munch can convert Adams to LG

Don't forget we have BW Webb a 3rd rnd pick off waivers from Dallas MT was very interested was scene watching him closely as he played at his alma mater William @ Mary, as well as DE/OLB Joe Kruger, let's see what Zummwalt can bring, heard he wasa great run stiffing LB for Cal

Fitz is due a bonus on March 5th. If the Cards don't want to pay, guessing it makes it more likely free agency is in his future.

And just because he played 2 years at Pitt doesn't make Pittsburgh his hometown.

Hes from Minneapolis, been rumors up here that he wants to play for the vikes if he ever leaves the desert. He was a vikes ballboy as a child.

Yeah because the Steelers lose because of their wide receivers

Love fitzgerald, but honestly unless he is switching to CB or we are trading a wideout this makes no sense. Lance moore wants out because there isn't enough balls here for him. A high priced wideout isn't exactly a big priority

Agreed I was a big BW fan when he was coming out and the Cryboys grabbed him. I am not sure what he did there but I have a buddy who is a fan and he said he was toast. I would love to see him get a chance I liked what I saw from college.

At the very least this team needs a great pass rush and a good cb.That will make everyone else look good. A wr would not be in the mix unless it's a late round pick or off the street. A solid RB would come before a wr as well.

This for sure. All speculation as he's still AZ property. Would bet MN is his favored destination IF he is released.

He's not from Pittsburgh, just played college ball there. He's from the Twin Cities and he won't be wearing blank gold. Way too many other needs on defense plus having to sign their own to be entertaining thoughts of signing a declining Fitzgerald. Most likely be retained by the Cards I think.

A "declining" Fitz would still be the second best WR on the team. I don't see him with the Cards next year tho...doubt it'll be with us, but they won't continue to pay him QB money when he's barely involved in Arians offense.

I think I'd have a better chance of motor boating Kate Upton then Fitz coming to the Steelers

Minnesota makes a lot of sense young QB that needs a reliably vet they probebly can afford to meet his asking price better, Having him will just be a luxury that would put us in the driving seat to repeat as North Winners and possibly be 12-4 or 11-5 again.

However if that same money can land us Maxwell I choose Maxwell over Fitz,

I would think Fitz is looking for a ring. He isn't going to find one in Minnesota. He should be looking for a team like Seattle, NE or even Denver if Manning comes back. Of course he could be looking to go home to Minnesota. Just depends on what he wants at this stage in his career.

Denver got bounced by the Colts, who in turn were pounded by the Pats, and were disemboweled by Seattle last year. If Manning comes back don't look for a ring by going to Denver.

Well that splains it, he will be released and go to the cheatriots and be catching soft balls for the next couple of seasons.

Other than NE name another team who didn't get beat last year. He could go to the Vikings who never got a chance at getting bounced. NE got bounced by Denver the year before. Trying to pick the team to win the SB is almost impossible. How many times in the past 10 years have people said "This is NE's year". Tons of times. They went a decade without a SB win. Denver with Manning still got further than a lot of teams including the Vikings. By the time the Vikings are ready for prime time he maybe retired. Also Seattle is going to have to pay Wilson along with others.

Hard to say from one year to the next in the current NFL but if he wants a ring I think his best chances are with us, Packers, Saints, and of course the Pats**. I think the odds of the Seahawks going to three in a row is too long. Fitz also has a rep for being a bit of a diva and that act doesn't play here. Besides, the O is mostly fine. We need help on D.

Bingo. One ball to go around. Bell, Brown, Bryant, Wheaton, Miller, TE to be determined later...Fitz would command to be 1 or 2 on the chart. Might discourage Bryant and Wheaton OR it could help make them better. It could be the most lethal offense in the league. However, the Steelers have bigger fish to fry
