That is a crazy comparison for LVE. Seems like every year fans get enamored with a prospect, only for them not to live up to the hype.

This years Obi Melifonwu.

“The major knock on Kuechly is that he had a lot of "inflated" tackle production throughout his career, the idea being that he is indeed a superb tackler but most of those tackles came 5 to 8 yards downfield in pursuit. He didn't get up into the line of scrimmage to make powerful, impactful plays much, and won't be relied upon as a pass rusher at the next level and is strictly a tackling, sideline-to-sideline backer.”

“He has gotten a lot of hype, but he plays soft. He’s too much like Paul Posluszny for me. He’s a good player and will have a lot of tackles, but most of them will come four yards downfield. He’s not an impact-at-the-line guy like a Ray Lewis, Luke Kuechly, Jon Beason or Brian Urlacher.”

Hmmmmm.

The top is Kuechly scouting report and the bottom is what a scout said about LVE.

In that regard they are similar then. Although Lve will be hard pressed to be the pass defender Kuec is. His burst is unimpressive. One scout even called him the worst blitzing LBer he has seen. A lot to be nervous for a first rounder. A lot.

This. I think there be a run on all RBs not named Barkley in the late 1st / early 2nd rounds.

I really like Mike White too but I’m not sure he lasts that long either.

Idk when I watch the tape he has burst, speed, loose hips and obviously the size. My question is lack of starts in college and ability to make the transition to the NFL from Boise. And his neck injury.

So the Steelers flew him in on a visit and he’s met with the Steelers doctors. If he checked off on those concerns with them then I think they wouldn’t hesitate drafting him.

Idk when I watch the tape he has burst,

I saw flow to the ball but not burst. I seen enough plays he back tracked. Which could be lack of instincts or trusting his speed.

His bad blitzing would tend to show lack of burst. Coming up short more often than not.

I see some traits, burst isn't one.

Athletic ability is there, I just don't get the hype.....

I saw completely different. Unlike Evans, LVE played in coverage more often than not so there’s not tons of blitzes to view but he seemed to do a good job timing or shedding blocks while using his 4.65 speed to get there. Coverage and going sideline to sideline is definitely his strong suit but that’s what we are in need of. We have a thumper in Vince so unless he’s going somewhere no need for another buck. But we need a guy who can flow to the play and play in coverage.

I find it very hard to believe that anyone who would even be considered 1st round talent at linebacker (Top 20 in some mocks) is the worst blitzer a scout has seen. Like lets get real here. however, I've gone on record as wanting LVE I will also now go on record that I won't be disappointing if they don't get him. There are a lot of Red Flags up. More importantly, I don't want to listen to SlashSteel ***** for 4 years. I'm good with Evans, A Safety, A Running Back, A corner. Just for God's sake not Mason Rudolph.

Nah I am not that type of fanatic. I drill my point home, but whomever gets picked I support the picks. Try to see the good in them, and cheer them on.

Until they show they suck. Then I want them replaced.:biggrin-new:

Ok But if it happens Im holding you to that. And nobody sucks until after their second season. Hell I held out hope for Jones and even Archer that long. Not like Coach, if he doesnt like the dude he will bring up how he looks doing warmup.

I usually give them to that third season. It is said by then they should be coming into their own. (Unless a injury holds them back)

4/5 top picks on O!

I think you will see a close ratio, tipping toward the D. Many options.

T WR RB QB TE

S ILB OLB DT CB

BPA could bring many a scenario.
