What's Ben doing?
With Clown-lin running the entire show. 5 weeks of ineptitude. The entire team sucked the last 5 weeks of the season.
Holla atcha bwahhhhhOn a side note....it's good to see @SteelBuckeye and @Omar10213245 on the site today...
There really wasn’t/isn’t a game changing QB this year to chase. Add in the fact that they have to sign 2 QB’s at the minimum. If I had to guess at this point, it's probably going to be Russ. The writing is on the wall -- reuniting him with Metcalf. Management can say they went out and paid big bucks for the wide receiver they so desperately needed. Meanwhile, the QB position is going to be average at best. Mediocrity is the standard.
Bro…It’s the Jets…I don’t blame Fields one bit for leaving this clown show. People are acting like Pittsburgh’s offense is any better than the Jets
Have you watched our offense the past few years?Bro…It’s the Jets…
Ask Lev Bell how that all went
Every damn game...Have you watched our offense the past few years?
That's right: We're comparable to the Jets and have been ever since Ben left, atrocious. That's where Clown-lin has taken us.Bro…It’s the Jets…

Immanuel Acho just said the Jets are a watered down version of the Steelers....I think that's actually not a bad takeThat's right: We're comparable to the Jets and have been ever since Ben left, atrocious. That's where Clown-lin has taken us.
It’s a discussion because our offense has been dog water for multiple years in a row now. There is no team in the league, including the Jets, that we can turn our noses up to when talking about the offensive side of the football.Every damn game...
But it's the Jets...Why is this even a discussion?
We get a 6th for NajI heard we get a Comp #4 pick back for Fields signing with Jets....
I have a different take. Whether Fields knows it or not, and in no way am I saying Tomlin planned it, but Tomlin got him $30 million guaranteed by sitting him after going 4-2. With all the problems the offense had, it was probably inevitable how it ended, even though I got sucked in by 10-3. If Fields was the QB of that shiitshow the last 5 weeks, do you think anyone gives him $30 million guaranteed?I don’t blame Fields one bit for leaving this clown show. People are acting like Pittsburgh’s offense is any better than the Jets? Please. We are a dumpster fire. If we re-sign Wilson I think I’ll puke. I’ve seen all I want to see outta that guy.
Hard to know for sure but I thought Justin played relatively well when he was in there considering what he had to work with, both from a play calling and personnel perspective.I have a different take. You're probably right about this. I wanted to move forward with Fields this year because of his age and physical tools, but he didn't play particularly well over his starts with the Steelers. He was an upgrade over Pickett, but nowhere near a sure bet as the long-term starter.Basing a guess on how he would have played the last number of games based on the first 6 is stupid. Russ played good during his first 6 games too, and we saw how that turned out. The other teams figured out the Steelers butit took a few games for them to get to Russ. I think they were on the verge of getting Fields after his first 6 games. I do believe that the team got at least 4 extra wins simply because teams had to start over when Russ came in. Not sure they would have been +.500 with Fields all season.
I was hoping that they could sign him to a reasonable, heavily incentivized contract because he offered many options:You're probably right about this. They were going to be in QB purgatory even if they signed Fields. They don't want to punt on the season, which is why they are focused on Rodgers/Wilson right now. Neither is a great option, but the rest are awful options...which isn't exactly bad if they want to go into next year hoping to draft a QB.Unfortunately, they are now in purgatory when it comes to QB. Do they overpay for an over the hill headcase or an over the hill QB that failed last year?
Personally, I think I would go with the next over the hill QB that didn't do too bad ........................ Flacco. I would also bring in Kyle Allen and Mac Jones on one year deals. Have a legitimate competition for 1 & 2, cut the loser. Add another QB in the Draft, and 1 or two more UDFA. Drafted QB can be the #3 and the other 3 can duke it out for the #4 position. Who knows maybe one of the last 3 push the #3 to #4. Sure, they could be in the same situation again next year, but you worry about that NEXT YEAR.
Not in the true sense of an established game-changing QB, no, but that's why Justin Fields would have made the most sense. I know that many don't share the same opinion, but I think Fields had/has the potential to be a very good quarterback. His rushing ability sets him apart. I would have liked to have seen what he could have done with the congruity of operating under the same offensive coordinator for a second season. That's never happened for him before, and obviously, it won't again this year with the Jets. There really wasn’t/isn’t a game changing QB this year to chase. Add in the fact that they have to sign 2 QB’s at the minimum.
Now that they got their WR with a 2nd rounder they need to get that DLman with the 1st and then start seeing what they can do about QB in round 3 or 4. Finish up with a RB, CB, OL and another QB. Hell, I would even sign 1-2 UDFA QB’s. Start with 6-7 and see who works out by the time the season starts. I would stock the shelves heavily with QB’s, they can pick up #3&4 backups at other positions as they cull QB’s.
I would disagree. I would say that re-signing Elandon Roberts for $3 million, and giving that extra $10 million over two years to Fields instead of Malik Harrison would have been a much better value. It's not a value.
