On Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced that Opus would be releasing the ultimate book dedicated to the Steelers was available for pre-order. This book promises to be the ultimate historical document of one of the greatest sports franchises in the world.

From the official news report:

The Steelers Opus will chronicle the evolution of the Steelers from its formative years under founder Art Rooney Sr. as a team that galvanized a city, and follow its journey through the iconic decade of the 1970s that was capped by four Super Bowl championships in six years, and then continuing the story of the franchise that still owns the most Super Bowl championships to the present day. It will present an in-depth and comprehensive journey through the archives that will unearth hidden and forgotten treasures and stories to illuminate and excite the emotions of Steelers fans around the world.

This will be an 800-plus page chronicle of everything about the Steelers. According to the Opus site there will be three verions of the book, all marketed to a different price point. The base model, so to speak called the Steeler Nation Edition is available for preorder for $325.

If you want the full 800-plus pages of the Classic Edition you better get out your checkbook because it will run you around $4,300. But if that number doesn’t phase you they do offer a limited edition Icons Edition. This is a limited run of only 100 copies and includes two tickets to a Steelers’ game this season. But all that luxury doesn’t come cheap. These will cost you around $9,800.

You can't get that on your ******* kindle.

For that much money that thing better have locations to buried treasure, give back massages, cook dinner and drive me around town.

Great idea, terrible price point. I can get 800page novels for $20.

WowZa, seems priced out of who they are trying to reach, the everyday Joe FAN. Love the Idea of it but the price is unreachable for MOST.

Love the Steelers. But yeesh! Naw. Too expensive for a book

What a crock of crap. $4300 for a fact book and some pictures? There is this thing called the internet that gets me all that and porn! Keep your 800 pages.

NFL is just lucky I love the Steelers enough to overlook the bullshit speeches during the HOF induction. Otherwise, I may just pass on the NFL as a whole.

59 days until the puck drops at PPG.
