February 2nd, 2019. Alan's day?

Boselli in my mind doesn’t have the numbers. Played less than 7 years. Only 91 games. 91 games. All pro three years. Pedestrian in comparison to Faneca.

Gale Sayers had a shorter career because of injuries, but he had numbers to get in. All pro for 5 straight years.

Yeah saw Boselli's career numbers today.
Faneca got snubbed

Big Red should be in before a lot of these guys,,,but, as many have eluded to, interior o-line is probably the hardest position to get into the hall, except for kickers and punters.

There is ABSOLUTELY a "too many Steelers in already" bias.
Hell, some of our 70s dynasty Steelers are still being snubbed.
LC Greenwood, Dewight White, and Donnie Shell off the top of my head.
Not too mention others since the 70s dynasty.
Faneca, Hines, Greg Lloyd, and Carnell Lake.
OH, and don't let me forget Andy Russell.

I'm sure arguments could be made for some other fringe players, but the above should already be in.
It's absurd they're not already.

Dawson was arguably the best Center ever, really the first that could pull and go lateral, it took him 7 years to get in, 7! For possibly the best to ever play the position

Faneca is in the same boat, arguably the best OG ever, hell he played LT half of 2003, so he gave up another all pro season at OG there.

I think Dawson, Faneca, Lambert, and Ham hold the Steelers record for being named 1st team all pro, each 6 times.

There is absolutely a Steeler biased

There's a Steelers bias and that's why some of the guys from the 70s and more from the 2000s won't get in, but that isn't the case with Faneca. A HOF voter pretty much explained things here:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Follow up HOF note: I would be really surprised if <a href="https://twitter.com/afan66?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@afan66</a> is not in Class of 2020. We had to break logjam of OL this year. <a href="https://twitter.com/KevinMawae?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@KevinMawae</a> was first. Faneca deserves to be next.</p>— Gary Myers (@GaryMyersNY) <a href="https://twitter.com/GaryMyersNY/status/1092952675484868608?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 6, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Faneca was better than Mawae.

I personally think Mawae was a very good player, but not a Hall of Famer. The voters put him in ahead of Faneca because he had waited longer than Faneca.

Mawae played only one year longer. His entry into the Hall was based purely on voting politics. Less all-pro selections, but was the players union chief. Several writers have since commented that, they (the NY contingent of panelists) made them aware they weren’t voting for anyone other lineman until Mawae was voted in first. Politics plain and simple. It’s why the voting is held in secrecy. There is no unbiased justification during voting.

Urlacher went right in, have there been any of those teams players that have been overlooked

And just about damn near every outlet claimed that Urlacher was “done” from 2005/2006 through the rest of his career. It could just be me, but I never quite got the appeal with him. Sure, there were a couple of years he stood out more than the rest, but I see him as a marginally better Paul Posluszny. As a matter of fact, their stats are pretty damn close, career, and Posluszny played in three seasons less of games than Urlacher. I think we could all agree that Posluszny is no Hall of Fame player. Sound? Yes. Hall of fame caliber? No.

What about the log jam of patriot players.................................... Crickets...?
