Just happen to me watching the Arizona / STEELERS SB just before 1/2 and am still amazed at James Harrison run back. Got me to thinking (more modern era) of great SB plays.

ADD your favorite / Great play(s) regardless of era......................

1) James Harrison run back
2) Roethlisberger game winner
3) Parker 75 yd TD run
4) Randle El pass

AMAZing how many "SB PLAYS" the steelers organization has been involved in....

Oooopppppssss, they don't have to be SB plays. Pittsburgh has way to many "SUPER PLAYS" to just limit them to the super bowl.

#1 ). Immaculate Reception

If we're talking just Super Bowl plays, the Harrison pix 6 and the Santonio toe-tap are tops for me. The 75-yard Parker Touchdown was like the stars aligning for our big boys up front. I don't think that man was touched on that run.

There are obviously plays from the 70's Super Bowls that are pretty historic on a sports level I never got to watch in real time. The Swann grabs in X, the Lambert/Harris 'incident', Bradshaw putting it right in the bread basket for Stallworth in XIV. But wasn't it SB XIII that had the most back and forth scoring drama?

I was in the ******* pisser at the stadium when that happened. Ran right past my seat. 30 yrds away.

What about the play of an individual, Ben Roethlisberger BACK to BACK 6TD games. Against Indy & Baltiwhore.

I believe he is the ONLY QB in the NFL with two 6 TD games.

Way too many to pick from. Here is a great compilation -

What a more perfect name for a player who actually had catches that were Swann-like. In many ways he was my favorite Steelers WR.

Lambert throwing Cliff Harris to the ground. Super Bowl 10 Maybe?

Another great FU play was in Super Bowl XIII when Henderson taunted Bradshaw after a late hit. The normally mild mannered Franco got in Henderson's face and when they got in the huddled told Bradshaw to give him the ball. He ran right up the gut untouched for 20 yds. and a TD. That felt awesome. Turns out later that a ref might have provided a nice screen, and they Cowboys cry about it, but that's one guy and this was a 20 yd run right through the middle of their defense.

Al Michaels ruined the Harrison INT for me. He pointed out the flag early in the runback so then i watched the play with almost no excitement. What should have been the biggest and most exciting play in Super Bowl history was like watching a fair catch.

Tape, I get that what you are saying but At the time I knew it was close to the line of scrimmage and I chose to ignore it thinking it would be against the offense, it was. Whewwww.

Kind of like the bengals self destruction where AB was knocked out by burfect and they got the 15. Then not much, but same play, later another flag was thrown and with everyone and their uncle / aunt / non-gender specific was out on the field I though Oh ****, could be against us......... Turns out bungles collapsed

SB XL against seattle in Detroit. The 75 yarder at the beginning of the half. I was standing there, pecker in hand when the stadium went nuts.

Lol. I thought maybe it was the Deebo pick 6 but still, that sucks. When nature calls BS.

I believe he is the ONLY QB in the NFL with two 6 TD games.

He since has gotten a different job and traded the car in, but those two jerseys are on display at the Heinz History Center Sports Museum and when Ron Jr. worked there he was tasked with taking them to Heinz Field for an event and bringing them back in the trunk of his Mustang.

Best part is that Willie Parker's TD was the longest running TD in SB history until Deebo's run eclipsed it.

I think the 75 yard TD laser strike from Bradshaw to Swann in SB is the most breathtaking pass in NFL history. With the possible exception of Brett Favre, no other QB makes that throw under that duress.

TB was knocked out on the play with helmet-to-to helmet contact.

How about these three incredible plays that as individuals are not that special but when they all belong to the same player it does become special.

1) 80+ yard punt
2) 80+ yard TD pass
3) 80+ yard TD Rush

The ONLY player in NFL history to do that, Kordell Stewart. Like him or hate him it's still quite an achievement.

The Holmes TD to me is the gold standard of everything. And that is truly with all do respect to old time die hard Steelers fans it is the greatest play in Steelers history and should be in the discussion for greatest play ever. A couple of points....
1. The immaculate reception as with the Music City miracle didn't end in a championship.
2. The Dwight Clark catch was an NFC championship game. Their season ended in a SB but still.
3. The Tyree catch did not win the game.
Ben to Holmes ended a championship game with a higher degree of difficulty than the Clark catch. If you attach the name Manning, Brady, Favre, Elway to that play I truly believe it is the greatest play in NFL history.

And a P.S. I offer as proof of the permanent disdain for Roethlisberger is this. If not for the ****** Kicker, brutal defense led by Tomlin and untimely mind numbing plays by Grimbal and Riddley this team wins games against Cleveland, Oakland, San Diego and New Orleans. Lets say they only get three. Even two. They are in the playoffs and at that point with his stat line he is probably no worse than third for league MVP. He wasn't even invited to the ******* pro bowl.

December 16, 2001 Against the Ravens a couple weeks before the birth of my son. Kordell to .........Bobby Shaw. I totally remember that play. Great season. Stupid end. Still don't know how they lost in the playoffs. Juggernaut defense. But Stewart was the QB and Cowher had his warts of finishing games too.
