The NFL HOF has never been about stats. It's always been about skill. That's why it took so long for a guy like Art Monk to get in, because many saw him as just a stat compiler. A good but not player who was steady. He wasn't even the best weapon on his team.
Now that passing has exploded, and analytics is everywhere, i hope the NFL doesn't just start going by stats and giving a rubber stamp to any QB or WR who has big stats.
Reggie Wayne should never get in. He was clearly just a #2 for most of his career.
I also think Julio Jones is not a hall of famer. WHy should he be? He disappears in so many games and his TDs are low. Edelman better never make it either.
Hines Ward should absolutely make the HOF. He was one of the most impactful players of his era. He was a factor on every play due to his blocking and still one of the top pass catchers. His numbers were only limited by the steelers run first offense.
