Faneca chooses Ward to present him into the HOF.

Of the 2000s Steelers: Bettis, Troy, Faneca & Ben were/are locks for HOF.

But who else: they were 1 drive away from a 3 Super Bowls in 6 years “mini dynasty” with a defense that finished in top 10 for 13 consecutive years (6x finish #1). No way Troy is only Defensive player to get in.

My rankings for who will get in:
1. Ben - no brainer
2. Harrison - was Greg Lloyd level with 5x Pro Bowl & 2x All-Pro (too short a career) but coming out of retirement to 80+ sacks & 34 FF adds to the DPOY, 4 Super Bowls played with 2 wins, and the 100 yard INT return (voters love signature plays)
3. Ward - 1000 catch milestone, 12000+ yards & 86 TDs + postseason #s (retired #2 catches, #5 yards, #3(tie) TDs and Super Bowl XL MVP plus best blocking WR ever, he’s still likely a wait because of voters bias
4. Porter - 98 sacks, 1x All Pro 4 Pro Bowls. A little hurt due to taking lower stats to help team win with Steelers—if he gets to another Super Bowl, say from not dropping pick 6 in 2001 AFCCG - a big help.
5. Farrior - his #s don’t jump off the page unfortunately enough but his body of work might warrant a view.

Ward absolutely should be in. He played on a run first team before the league was a passing era, with average at best QB's. He didn't play with Ben until he was like 28. He has better numbers than guys that are in the HOF. Everyone compares him to Moss and TO because they played during the same time, but look at the offenses and QB's those guys had, how did Moss do in Oakland? He had 102 catches for 1500 yards and 11 TD's in two seasons.
Ward has more catches, yards, and TD's than Irvin, and a Super Bowl MVP. Irvin had a HOF QB, RB, and the best OL the majority of his career.

Ward should be in. Good numbers, particularly on a run-first team. Renowned for his physical play--no one else even mentioned in this category during his playing days. Big time performer in the playoffs. You also cannot tell the story of the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowls without mentioning Hines Ward.

If Terrell Davis is in, James Harrison should absolutely be in. Had a longer career where he was a top player and at his peak he was a top defender in the NFL. Arguably had the greatest defensive play in Super Bowl history.

Hines' biggest distinction is his ridiculous versatility and the fact there is NOBODY else like him. He's a one-off. He's a throwback. He's a Steeler and the story of the NFL cannot be told without Hines.

Though it doesn't count in the NFL, Hines, while at Georgia, was playing in the Peach Bowl (unranked Georgia vs James Farrior's, who played his *** off,18th ranked Cavaliers)...Hines threw for 413 yards (a Peach Bowl record that stood for18 years)...with a broken wrist and, of course, he was born without an ACL in his left knee...gtfo.

Who is tougher than Hines Ward? Who loves football more than Hines Ward? NOBODY.

It's Ward with Harrison as an outside shot. Porter and Potsy aren't really close. Honestly very short career but I'd put fast Willie Parker ahead of both those guys.

Ward better get in before Edleman !!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Allan Faneca and I'm glad Hines is announcing him.

Salute the nation

Keith Rivers' teeth just voted for Hines to be in the HOF.

Know who one of Hines Ward's biggest proponent is? A guy I used to HATE - Rodney Harrison. I heard Harrison on the NFL Network talking about Ward, and he said he knew Ward was a football player early on, when Harrison got him on one play, Ward pops up smiling and says, "Yeah, next time, my turn." Sure enough, later in the game, Ward just smokes Harrison. Harrison pops up laughing though he felt it.

During the same interview, Harrison said the other guy he always thought played football like it was football and not rhythmic gymnastics was Polamalu. It was clear he respected those Steelers teams. Tough, liked to hit, didn't mind getting hit. Football players.

I believe that every eligible receiver with at least 1000 catches is in. He’ll get in eventually.

Got damn there will never be a WR that blocks like that again.😅 Hines was just vicious.
