I don't think they have taken a player higher in the draft since I've closely followed the draft. Ben was 11 and not expected to play. Troy was 16. So you can say what you want, there are expectations here. Mine are 1st or 2nd on team in tackles. He is a middle linebacker. 3 takeaways and 3 sacks. Most importantly the defense functions better. You can't have holes and play gap cancellation defense. And you can't have weak spots in pass coverage. I'm not expecting RDPOY. But I'm expecting amoung the best defensive rookies. He has a good force unit around him with lots if experience and what should be a better secondary.

Study the playbook hard, stay out of jail, don't get suspended under the PED or league misconduct policy. These are my absolute expectations.

My reasonable expectations. Maintain good conditioning, never take a play off, be vocal on the field, earn the respect of your opponents and be a 3 down LB by week 3 or sooner.

Statistical expectations. Top 2 in tackles on the team, 6 tackles for a loss, 3 of which come against the Jets, 2 forced fumbles, 1-2 INTs and 2-3 sacks

Hopes ---stay humble and aspire to play on the level of your Godfather D. Brooks and the awards and accolades will follow

Well said and similar to what I hope.

Paul, that was excellent. Please continue to post.

I hope he learns , gets playing time,, at least half the snaps.. and doesn't get a big head. We all know how it worked out for troy.

Think we got Plax at #8 overall. Those early round guys are boom or bust but with much higher ceilings on average than you get with the latter rounds. His pedigree is there. It will be exciting to watch his progress.

My expectation is for him to revive our defensive mindset through effort & making game changing plays. I also expect him to be a leader, bring speed to our defense, & wreak havoc & impose his will on the opposing offense......

Yes you are correct. Burress was a great player. Just personal problems. He was dominant for several years. Some of them with the Giants.
From what I've read Bush will never be a character problem. A contract problem? Maybe. But not a character problem.
