Excellent Article on Coaching

14/26 214 yards 1 TD. Longest 45 yards. If i get what you are saying, no good coach would allow these kind of stats by Bortles?

Against, hoodie, he only had 23/36, 293 yards with a long of 29. Rating 98.5, higher than the steeler D. Curious.

Im going to suggest that the 3 TDs by fournette were more of a thorn in our side than Bortles and another by yeldon. Bortles made some key plays with his feet, but the idea that he was all over us and LED to the win is ridiculous.

Probably, the one made by thier D didn't help, either.

Whether Bortles "led" them or not is just a semantics game. The bottom line is the Steelers allowed an offense with a ****** QB to score five TDs on them.

The Jaguars offense had a good first half against the Patriots, but did not do much of anything in the second.

Lol...keep moving the goal posts. You said "Bortles" led team when it wasn't. Fournette is no journeyman RB and he accounted for 3 of those.

The jags won 10 reg season games and a playoff game to get there. Must have been doing something right.

A lot of **** went wrong in that game. To consider it just another failure by Tomlin is shortsighted and baised.

The Jaguars managed to score only 10 points against the Bills the week before.

They scored 35 against the Steelers, and yes, Bortles played a big role in it. It's not like the Jaguars' backs rushed for 300 yards or something

It was a big failure by Tomlin. It was no all on him, but he's the man in charge.

It was a **** show all around. Every aspect of the game. I dont know many coaches that xan overcome 2 TOs that give up points, in the playoffs.

No team can. That's why ball security is the most important aspect to winning consistently.

It's almost like that should be coached up.

I'll never understand why it's so hard for folks to just admit when the players completely **** the bed? Coaches don't fumble or throw pics. They don't miss tackles, or extra points either. I think he's an average coach, but this notion that every time we lose is because he doesn't have them ready is bullshit.

Yeah, I bet they never talk about it.
I'm sure they do. And do drills. Like we did in grade school. The point is that possibly whatever they are doing is not sticking. Like covering your guy, staying in your zone, running through the catch, whatever. Lots of stupid play out there today. Not professional grade.

We just disagree. Some coaches just don't field players who **** the bed, and they win Super Bowls. The standard, for those coaches, is actually a real standard, not just something that sounds good. They have zero tolerance for inconsistent performance. I completely believe that coaches can shape performance on the field, and like it or not, we all see both sides of this theory play out every ******* season like clockwork. Get ready to see it again.

We disagree on one thing for sure, when I see a player fumble the football I don't look for an excuse for that player and why it happened. He fumbled. Every team has players **** up every game, even the best teams. The game plan pisses me off sometimes, and the challenges and wasting time outs are an embarrassment. I can look at where he's lacking, but I can also recognize players ******* up. This next couple weeks will determine the season. They blew any chance at a home playoff game today, time to clean up all the dumb ****.

Hard to blame Tomlin for the loss to the Broncos. It's next to impossible to win an NFL road game with a -4 turnover differential.

I thought the coaching was actually pretty good, for the most part. Ballsy fake field goal was obviously a good decision. Setting up the Broncos with JuJu in the short passing game early, then exploiting them deep in the second half was well-done.

I would have taken Bostic out of there and put Fort in. Bostic is a huge liability in early down pass coverage, and if he isn't helping to stop the run (as was clearly the case today), he's as useless as a second dick.

Good coaching happens during the game... Great coaching happens during the preseason and Monday through Friday... A zero-tolerance no bulshit get the job done attitude is what championship teams have... The Steelers Don't Come Close! In my opinion shitt rolls downhill starting with ownership followed by the head coach assistant coaches and ultimately the performance of their players!... Roethlisberger should be mentoring an athletic quarterback right now and Tomlin needs to go the **** bye bye and get a hard-nosed coach in there that sells the concept of perfection!

You are evidently new here. I am normally just about as anti-Tomlin as they come.

But not today.

I cannot blame the guy for a perfectly executed play to the tight end, who proceeded to fumble the ball away on the opponent's half yard line.

I cannot blame the guy for a perfectly executed screen pass to the running back, who proceeded to fumble the ball away in field goal range.

I cannot blame the guy for another great late game drive that this time ended unsuccessfully on the opponent's two yard line, because of an interception thrown into multiple layers of coverage.

I cannot blame the guy for several other long passes that should have been completed, but were not.

I try to be objective, and normally Tomlin warrants his fair share of culpability when the Steelers lose.

But not today.
