Eli Rogers is Quickly Becoming a Household Name

Tomlin strikes again.

Antonio Brown
Emmanuel Sanders
Mike Wallace
Martavis Bryant
Eli Rogers ***

If he's got a knack for anything, its finding good talent at WR beyond the early rounds.

If Rogers can get 6 catches a game let alone in one half as he did Monday night, He'll become a household name similar to Welker or Edelman. But, that also depends on the success of the team. Steelers performing well during nationally broadcast games (SNF, MNF, Christmas, Bengals rematch, Pats gm). His limitation not considering the health of our team will be the targets. Bell, Williams, Brown, Wheaton, Coates, James/Green, Rogers.... Ben is spreading the ball around, but we all know Brown and Bell will tip the scale in targets.

Rogers is a fine underneath option that compliments the Steeler arsenal. Bottom line Super Bowls will make our role player a household name.

The next step for Rogers is to show that he can get YAC and turn some of those short catches into big plays. See if his punt return skills transfer over

Well, I will give you the team seems to find good receivers in the later stages of the draft but I wonder how successful any of these players would have been if the Vikings would have drafted them. There is something to be said for a QB like Ben.

Wes Welker is an appropriate comparison. Welker wasn't a household name when he was undrafted by Miami. He still wasn't a household name when the Pats traded for him. You tell me a football fan that doesn't know who Wes Welker is now. Eli can be that type of player, and the scary thing is, he is faster, and quicker than Welker. By the end of this year, people are going to know him very well.

I already stated this a couple times, but Eli's emergence makes Wheaton expendable. He will probably not return to us next season unless he signs a very friendly home team deal.

Rogers might be 2nd on the team in receptions this season. Ben loves him. The arrow is pointing up, but to be Wes Welker, he'll need toughness too. That remains to be see; however you can compare him to a young Wes Welker.

Now you're coming around! ;)
