Egotistical Prick tweets pic of himself in a Raider Uniform - AB Traded

I heard that we still have to eat 21.something million in dead cap money next year, too.

The nfl is in a sucky state when this nonsense is happening. The new cba will an ugly show next go-round. Watch for a strike.

You are operating under the assumption that they HAD to trade AB. That's totally false. The Steelers panicked because they have no leadership in the organization.

First they allowed this situation to fester almost as if they were afraid to discipline a player.

Colbert is not a GM. He's middle management. Everybody in the steeler organization is middle management waiting for somebody competent to tell them what to do.

Only some fans wearing rose colored glasses think the Steelers had any option but to get rid of Brown. Bringing him back was NEVER an option in any way shape or form.

Addition by subtraction. It is about what I expected. I am just glad he has gone so we can move on.
Time to move on with more holes, less talent, and iffy compensation to show for it. And now should we feel confident they will fill holes in free agency or take their usual bottom barrel approach?

Do you really think the FO just gave up and gave him away? NOBODY was giving a first round pick for a player the Steelers HAD to get rid of. NOBODY. They had no leverage and took what they could get to get him out of the organization. There was never an option of him returning to the team after what was said and done. Not in a million years.
Then maybe they should've just sucked it up and showed some strength as an organization. Keep AB on the team. Tell the Raiders to keep their pathetic offer. Show players they cannot decide when and where they go.

What's to stop Juju from doing this a year into his first big contract. Not a damn thing. Pathetic showing from Steelers brass imo

I think they can spread it over two years.

Colbert should be fired....NO WAY THERE WAS NOT A CHANCE TO GET A NUMBER 1 AT SOME POINT

Yep, teams were just lining up to give away a first round pick and Colbert just gave them a friends and family discount...delusional

I'll say this. Not only should the magnifying glass be situated right above Colbert's shiny bald ******* head for the foreseeable future on any and all decisions he might have a hand in, but the results of this disaster need to have coach tomlin put on firm notice. It was his "kid gloves" treatment of antonio over the years which greatly helped to sow the seed of allowing ******** brown to exhibit his true nature and exploit this franchise, so tomlin needs to know that from here on out, he absolutely, positively canNOT give ANY preferential treatment to ANYONE (not matter HOW GOOD they are at the game of football) on the roster as long as he is HC, PERIOD.

My vision may not be 20/20. But to me, keeping him and making an example out of him is worth more than a 3rd and 5th. Guess Pitt disagrees. They better pull something out of their *** with this crap haul.

Tomlin should have been **** canned for allowing this culture to be tolerated and created in the first place. If the Harrison and AB fiasco does not get him canned, absolutely nothing will.

no ****, sherlock, pretty sure that goes without saying

edit: sorry pride, just a little testy at the conclusion of this nonsense.

You can only suspend a player for 4 games. Then he comes back and destroys the lock room and every other thing. Steelers had one team that would trade for him. Everyone knew it all along that it was Oakland. They tried to leak stories about him going to Buffalo to scare Oakland. They leaked stuff about all these other teams. All of em denied wanting Brown.

It's over. He's gone. Bell is gone. The drama is gone.

And stop acting like Colbert turned down 1st round picks from other teams. No one wanted to give up **** for this ********

BINGO...110% spot on.

A injury in camp after free agency was depleted and he suddenly looks more attractive. I dunno. I still think this is a fail.

I would disagree with that. I feel the Steelers were winning the PR battle as of late with AB. The more he spoke, the worse it got for him in the eyes of the public.

I would've liked for the Steelers to call his bluff. If he didn't show up, then fine. He sits, he doesn't collect a check. In turn it shows other players that they cannot pull this crap. This move was very shortsighted imo. I feel in the long run, making an example out of brown would've been worth more to the organization than a 3rd and 5th. I hope I'm wrong.

I would of been happy to see him rot on the bench but you have to change the culture of the team and that was never happening if we had to deal with Brown being a distraction like Bell was last season. My new Juju jersey came yesterday so I'm ready to roll

Winning a PR battle? What does that even mean? The more Brown spoke the more it decreased his trade value. The Steelers were not winning at any point in time. The fallacy in your view is assuming Brown would sit out. The Steelers could not have Brown back in the locker room, and everyone in the NFL knew that.

By winning the PR battle I meant that in the eyes of the public/other teams. I feel AB was showing that he was a clown. Fitzgerald and Decker even kinda sided with the Steelers on this one.

We all knew that they would never get back proper compensation for the player AB is. So all that's left is making sure this doesn't effect anything else, other players wanting to sign, be drafted by or wanting to stay on the Steelers moving forward.

AB kinda backed himself into a corner by stating we were going to play by his rules, he "didn't need the game." Ok, so if Pittsburgh would've brought him back, he would've been forced to either go back on his word. Or suit up.

I mean unless you feel AB would've intentionally thrown games (which is a whole other level) I think that position is a win-win for the team.

I feel sick, a 3rd and 5th and he get a massive pay raise. He played the Steelers and got rewarded, we will be lucky to get a good special team player,, ****.

I was ok with letting him go for a 1st, heck even a 2nd and some change would've been palatable because it was benefitting the team. I do not feel this trade does those things.

I'm now just kinda left with a feeling that AB pretty much won this whole fiasco. Hard to swallow lol damn I just hope the Steelers pull something out

It's the 2nd pick in the third round. Consider it a 2nd rounder.

I get a kick out of those saying Colbert and Tomlin should not be able to do anything without oversight. Who the **** is going to give oversight, the ******* head clown AR2? This team has and will continue to be a **** show, as long as AR2 is running things.

Typical 3rd generation “leadership”

The market was the market. I dont think anyone can dispute that. But when the FRIDAY DEADLINE came out I was oh boy. And I dont think anyone can debate that happened. That was farcical. Clearly in my mind the team is looking at a big rebuild. Question I have is after 5-11, 6-10 next year are we still gonna have to believe Tomlin is capable of leading it. I mean Christ you might as well trade Roethlisberger too. It could take 5 or 6 years to get this **** on track. What is the point of having a HOF qb. All that will happen is you will get worse draft picks.
