Edmunds in coverage

Its way too early to call edmunds a bust or even saying he will be terrible in coverage. However i will say that i am not very impressed with its skills so far. I am still very concerned about the D going into the season

Agreed. Way too early to call Edmunds a bust. I was hoping for a more advanced NFL skill set as a rookie. So far, no such luck.

Why it was known he was a little raw. And it takes awhile when you learn the D and aren't a step slow due to thinking too much.

You are overthinking a rookie that hasn't played in one regular season game.

For the love of got damn it man.

“NFL skill set as a rookie”. Your brilliance has no bounds. I never could have conceived a rookie (never played before at the competition level) to already have a NFL skill set.

You truly have a dizzying intellect.

More advanced skill set? It's his 2nd time ever seeing NFL action during the preseason. And did you forget about Troy his entire first year? A guy the Steelers traded up to get? He never made a start or had an impact and played primarily on STs his first season. Hell, at least Edmunds already has a FF on his resume.

Ridiculous thread.

Any IDEA on head size????

At the risk of sounding redundant................He's a rookie !

I guess y'all forgot Troy's rookie year.

On July 29, 2003, Polamalu arrived at training camp after missing the start of it due to a hamstring injury and competed with veteran Mike Logan in training camp for the vacant starting strong safety job left by Lee Flowers.[12]

th

Throughout the season, he was the backup strong safety and played primarily on special teams and in dime packages.

Coach, making a broad judgement call on a 1st round pick rookie he didn't want after only his second preseason game and starting an entire thread about it? That has literally never happened ever.......

To be fair, ian, I recall some declaring a pick a bust before the player had shaken the commissioner's hand.

He wasn't looking at the ball, was he?

I've been meaning to get to this. He sure was looking at the QB and ball on his terrific INT against the Titans, wasn't he? And that run-back, that looked a little Troy Polamalu-esque. We might have a players on our hands, Coach.

don't let facts get in the way. Let Roach have his agenda.

In 3 preseason games, Edmunds has 2 picks (on negated due to penalty) and a forced fumble, which i think he recovered.

Seems pretty good in the "splash play" dept.

So far it looks like the Steelers knew what they were doing in taking him in round 1.

Crazy thing I read recently, the Steelers have only drafted 2 first round Safeties in their entire history, Troy Polamalu and Terrell Edmunds.

The first worked out pretty well (yes, putting that lightly). And the splash plays this guy is starting to make, they may be onto something. Exciting times.

yeah but in his second preseason game, Edmunds gave up a TD pass from future hall of famers Aaron Rodgers to Jimmy Graham, so he sucks. It's decided.

Yes, he looked much better! I never said I didn't like Edmunds.

I never said you did dislike Edmunds. Will you drop the agenda if this guy becomes a player? I mean, if he excels, it's only a great thing for the Steelers organization and us fans. Shouldn't be too hard to jump on the bandwagon if that's the case, no?

Edmunds is definitely a playmaker, active hands, good instincts. Let's see if he adapts to NFL speed
