Here's a great interview with Ed O'Neill where he talks about being in Noll's first camp with Mean Joe Green. When Noll cut him, he offered to get him in with the Eagles. Interesting interview with the first 5 minutes or so about the steelers.

The rest of the interview is really good too about how he landed the role of Al Bundy, that Married stole their opening shot from a famous movie, why he hates Rhondo Rousey and how he got on Modern Family.

I thought it was a myth that he was on the Steelers even for a short time.

Believe me, as a preteen kid I definitely looked forward to Sunday nights after the Simpsons, seeing Kelly in those slutty outfits was something I seldom missed

That's a cool story to have. He was off about Wagner though, he didn't come in till '71. Guys of note from that '69 class were, Greene, Hanratty, Kolb, Greenwood, and Warren Bankston who managed to stick around for a few seasons. And of course the key guys from the pre-Chuck years who would have been there were, Dick Hoak, Ray Mansfield, Roy Jefferson, Andy Russell and Bobby Walden.
