Bouchette thinks this all stems from the MVP announcement. He also thinks this is the straw with AB and the Steelers need to trade him. He said take what you can get, trade him, pick up a good wr and the offense will be ok.
Idiot Chris Mueller responds with, "you think Ben is the caliber of QB that can produce without a WR like AB". Bouchette, said well AB did cause a number of Ben's INTs by running the wrong routes.
Bouchette thinks all you could get was a first rounder for him.
Also said AB has wanted his Instagram guy to follow him all over training camp, even where only team personnel is permitted, and Tomlin allowed it.

It blows my mind that there is some misconception that AB made Ben the QB he is, as though he was nothing before???

I understand there are so many team dynamics that went into it, but Ben led the Steelers to 2 championships well before AB, with of course Ward and the likes of Cedric Wilson, Nate Washington, El, etc. (yes, diva Santonio was instrumental in ‘08, but hardly made Ben better... Ben had to throw 2 ridiculous passes to secure the game winning TD in XLIII) and their last appearance in a SB was with AB as a rookie, contributing little.

There can be an argument Ben is better without a superstar WR and has to spread ball around (ie. post Plexico).

This notion they can’t win without AB or Bell, when they’ve only reached the mountain top without them and without all the attention and self promotion they require is laughable!!!

I think they can get more than one first round pick and should be asking for more. AB is a very attractive player skill set wise and there are lots of owners out there looking to fill seats and one in particular Mark Davis with the move to Vegas would like nothing better. Watch for that one.

I don't know, as much talent as AB has I have to wonder if other teams really want to bring all this drama into their locker room, especially for what he'd want money wise. There's backlash in the press already..

I'm sure someone will be willing to pick him up but I'm not sure someone will be willing to cough up anything huge for him.

Man, even the shock jocks aren't dumb enough to ask that type of question.

Ben never produced pre AB? Ridiculous!
They found AB in the 6th round and have a penchant for finding receivers so I think they will find quality out there in the draft with a younger, cheaper guy to go with JuJu, Washington, maybe Eli.

I want AB gone but not giving him away for something below value. I’m sure the lines have already been lighting up at the Steelers offices so just be patient and get the max for this clown.

You can’t get rid of the coach over this even if you want him gone. You can’t set a precedent gong forward that behavior like this will get you what you want. He needs to be punished and talked to in a come to Jesus meeting. At this point Tomlin has to be given the next season to sink or swim then you get rid of both of them if it is still an untenable situation.

What Tomlin has allowed to happen on his watch is an embarrassment. Ed is calling for the trade of AB, but doesn't have the balls to jeopardize his standing with the team and call for Tomlin's head.

What would have you done had you been in Tomlin's shoes. Let's play the hypothetical. What if Cleveland won and they made the playoffs. Would you sit AB? Also, remember you are a fan. How pissed would you be at him if he sits AB for the playoff game? This is a no-win for Tomlin.

Tomlin and the rest of the front office allowed Brown to get away with a little too much over the years and it got to a breaking point. However, it still comes down to AB acting like a clown. The guy is 30 years old, no excuses for him to act this way. The bigger embarrassment is that Tomlin allowed the team to fall from 7-2-1 to 9-6-1 and out of the playoffs. I'm far more upset with that than anything that happened with Brown.

Fire Bouchette!

Sounds like he is the cancer in the locker room

So because Tomlin can't control his locker room, he can't lose his job because of the monster he created? Really? So if AB wasn't an issue everyone would be talking about how this team tanked and missed the playoffs because of horrible coaching, time management and stupid play calls. Then he could be fired but because he also sucks at controlling his own locker room now he can't be fired.

I think we need to change the narrative from Tomlin can't control his locker room to Tomlin can't control his superstar players.

What do you want him to do? This is important. Just saying he can't control his players is easy. What steps should have he taken? Sit these guys for games? Should've he sat Bell last year for the Jacksonville game? Sat AB had they made the playoffs this year? As a fan would you all be accepting of that?

I know this looks like a defense of Tomlin. I don't intend it that way. I really want to know what the hell you do with these guys to get through to them.

Tomlin, Brown, maybe even ARII need to meet this offseason and clear things up. Once they do that they need to set some expectations and if he doesn't follow them, then yes, it's the point where they should sit him. He's stats driven and every game he sits out is one less opportunity to achieve a record.

Right, guess Ben was trash before AB came along lol :eyeroll:

Ward, Burress, Randle-El, Wallace, Sanders, Holmes, Bryant all have come and gone and Ben has been just fine

Other than Sanders, none of them enjoyed the same success after leaving either.

These are two different things, I want Tomlin fired because he can't manage the clock, doesn't prepare the team for every game with full intensity, doesn't adjust if/when needed. This AB bullshit? Is just part of the new generation of Me players with full media coverage 24/7, I don't want Tomlin fired because of that, it would be an excuse for all the rest of the crap he has done as the HC

I want Tomlin fired because it's time to move in a new direction. Long overdue. Sometimes change is a good thing. And **** AB. And his new bestest friend Harrison.

Well-stated.

1. Fire Tomlin.
2. Fire Butlick.
3. Fire the ST coach.
4. Keep AB.

It should have never escalated to this point with Brown. When you constantly show preferential treatment to Brown such as allowing the blowups on the sidelines without repercussion, missing practice and meetings, the locker room incident with phone, coupled with allowing LevBell miss a walk through and arriving late to the locker room prior to the Jax play-off game, then call it what it is, enabling by Tomlin.
Tomlin has ****** this team up from its culture, identity, and overall player attitude that we’ve become the laughing stock of the NFL.

LMAO, some dumbass just called in and said Ben caused this entire thing by not taking a cut in pay so we could sign Bell. Hahaha, it's ******* better than a comedy club listening to these dumb ***** call in.
