I know the Steeler OL is technically good but I hate how soft they are. Even Pouncey and Decastro rarely actually move people. This is a trend throughout football and not just the steelers and i hate it.

.

do you think this is due to the zone blocking trend? Idk. The looks the Defense give at the LOS I think makes a huge difference. Brings up variables/ who to pick up.

Is he still in the comp pick formula being released and resigned?

Have no idea, just taking a flyer of hope, lol

He was cut after signing a 3 year contract for $5.5M and $1.9M guaranteed , then released which took him out of the formula

No word on how this new move affects us

Maybe Ravens just signed him to scout our team for next week then they cut him, lol

Nobody needs to scout the Steelers, least of all the rats. The entire league knows what we're 'doing' on every play for several reasons - they've seen it for 10 years, the Steelers 'schemes' confuse only the Steelers, and the defense is even more confused because they get conflicting signals from the sideline.

how many years back would you have to go to find footage of a Steeler OL actually moving a pile?

I was watching a bit of an old college game last week and it is strinking the difference in OL play. It use to be that run play meant the OL fires out and moves the DL. Now run plays start with OL in a 2 point stance and there's no push. It's like every play is a draw. I hate it.

I was watching some old Steeler games and loved how Franco and Rocky were lined up a few yards behind Bradshaw instead of set up 8 yards behind the QB as they are today. The quick hitters would work today against the defenses who are too fast for the majority of slow developing plays you run out of the I formation. it takes too long to just get back to the line of scrimmage . Also loved watching Bradshaw just fire underhand strikes to Franco to get him to the edge on the sweep plays.

life got the better of me the last few weeks and haven't had a chance to keep up with other games....I just noticed Rams V. Bucs...95 total points. WTH? Butlin phone in defensive play calls for both teams or what?

Probably to the days of Chris Kemoeatu. He'd dive on a pile and get flagged for 15 yards. EG - 'moved the pile'.

Two weeks in a row of not watching a down of an NFL game. 1st I was on a beach, yesterday I was under the weather and slept all day. Didn't miss it. Other than watching the Steelers I might be getting more out of my Sunday's than I have for the past 30 years. At least until the weather gets lousy and there's nothing else to do.
