Dylan Cook

Maybe this Pat Meyer guy has finally found the one guy who gets what he says and teaches

Keep in mind the OL scheme was also designed to help Cook along the way.

I’m not putting Cook down, but just pointing out he did have help and was made to only singular read block.
DK Sports Dailey Shot Steelers had a very good segment on this.

They need to run that "pedigree " nonsense through the wood chipper, then burn it...lol
Yep. Simply put the best player out there. Shouldn't be a hard concept to use.

I saw him engage with a Dman than pass him off to the guard to pick up another player to block. Also....haven't we helped our other tackles even more? When we ran out our super Jumbo package? We ran I believe 4 WR sets at times this past Monday nite. Crazy.

I was just pointing out that he had help at times, not necessarily in body but the scheme would give him one man to worry about.

Yes, other’s have had help as well and I’m not taking anything away from Cook.

He has shown very good potential and hopefully he turns into a starter that he is capable of.

It was 1 game, but how do you have that guy buried on the depth chart!?
He was my biggest positive takeaway.
Tomlin and Rooney. Cook has looked good in every preseason game he played in. Only those two could have him buried on the depth chart for a team with a suspect offensive line

no worries. Meyer will coach him to our level of expectation this week.

The training begins ...

He played with discipline and stuck to fundamentals. He understood what he needed to do and showed detail in his footwork and his blocking. He understood when to get off a block and move to the next guy which seemed natural. Perhaps it was from his experience as a quarterback at Montana State where he was expected to put more detail into his work. Whatever it is, if he puts up another above solid performance this Sunday (and next), I think the Steelers may be in a positive dilemma. Prior to his injury, Broderick was playing his position with confidence and was very solid. He was continually improving. However, Cook just looked outright better. There is a chance they may have found their LT for the next 5-8 years in Cook.

I certainly hope so. And sometimes a team finds a really good LT off the scrap heap - Alejandro Villanueva, anybody?

He had the bestest OL coach ever though.
