Dupree's injury

why the **** this keeps happening?
Maybe every team suffers the same % of injuries, I don't know but it sure seems like a lot of rookies going down every year
 
Never saw a team that consistently deals with the amount of injuries on a year to year basis as the Steelers do.

Don't even really know what to expect from this team for the beginning of the season.

Usually don't react this way but this is getting ridiculous. Oh, Bud tweeked his groin. He'll be back soon. 2 months later he has to go on IR for another 2 months. That's crazy. Just be honest about ****. The Steelers still haven't admitted Green is having concussion issues. If we only get one designee to return, Green will either be cut or put on IR for the season with Golson. I just love being in the dark about my team. Yes, the best fans in the world can and should call the Steelers their team.
 
so the team knows from day one of an injury exactly what is wrong? They listen to the doctors and go by what they are told. If an injury does not seem to be getting better and is evaluated again, it is possible to find more damage than originally expected. Do you KNOW Green is having concussion issues or are you just basing this on speculation of others who may not know any more than any of us?

So you follow every other team daily to be on the up and up of all their injuries?
 
Just so you guys know, Groins are really tough to diagnose degree. It is only the athlete and his pain tolerance, honesty, that can let the doctors know if it is healing or not. Dupree, may not have been honest, and had a setback. This type of injury usually doesn't require surgery, but it requires a lot of rest. So now he has 8 weeks off, and we will reevaluate him then. Pretty straight forward, and nothing nefarious if you ask me.
 
Cope is right. Groin injuries are difficult to assess as they can be elusive until the extent of the injury is identified. Dupree's was a Core muscle issue and those are definitely painful with rest and therapy. However some of the beat writers have indicated he participated in some OTAs and reaggravated it to the point that rest/therapy didn't progress the healing enough upon re-evaluation. Hence the decision for surgery. To aid in the recovery faster.

No way Green is cut this year. Cap implications would be serious as his bonus for the 4 years would be counted immediately.

And when is that? TE is such a question mark and this guy is supposed to be a playmaker. Ben needs athletic playmakers for checkdowns otherwise expect some pretty conservative playcalling.

Dupree had surgery from a groin/core injury. A sports hernia was speculated. Groin injuries are pretty nagging after the first unless he is able to get into a good rehab routine he should be fine a month from now, depending on comfort that is. I'm gonna assume Moats as a full time starter with Jarvis/Harrison sharing reps

So, now that you've learned your word for the day maybe you don't have to go through life being as misinformed.

Oh and I actually DO keep up on the injuries for all teams...... it's very easy to do with another invention called the internet (don't worry lil buddy, that will be your word of the day for tomorrow) and my ability to read the information provided on the internet.

Steelers seem to be a team that without fail has injuries to key players every year and our seasons are defined less by what our team is capable of and more by our walking wounded list.
 
Not saying that doesn't happen to some, or even a lot of teams on a year to year basis but it doesn't seem to define their franchises prospects the way it does ours EVERY season.
