Pretty on point IMO.

Rahn: Hi Gerry, Maybe it's me but I've found that Mike Tomlin's become much more unlikable in recent years, which is a shame. His handling of the superegos on the squad is one thing, but how he bristles (to put it nicely) when asked about such instances and shirks responsibility when he demands it from his players. Never mind that he never admits to making a mistake. What's your take on how he's viewed?
Gerry Dulac: I don't think it's you. Your perception is most adroit.

thad5192: why extend tomlin,5 playoff wins in the last 10 years,a locker run by children ,underachieving as an artform ,no one better is not an answer
Gerry Dulac: There is absolutely no harm in waiting another year and holding him, along with everyone else, accountable for the way the past two seasons have ended. Now is not the time to be handing out raises of at least $2 million a year. Now is the time to have everyone, including the coach, show they can turn this around.

Coach Mike T.: Specifically name one thing I do well as a head coach. I don't develop secondary players, as a former DB coach should be able to do. I don't have good clock or game management skills. I constantly look like a deer in headlights on the sideline. I have been riding Ben's coattails my entire coaching career. What do I do well besides give out good fist and chest bumps?
Gerry Dulac: Sound bites?

Stiller fan: More pressure this season; Ben, Tomlin, Juju, or Bush?
Gerry Dulac: Tomlin

I believe it's a yawn because the subject is like beating a dead horse. It's not the Steeler way, and I would be shocked that when Tomlin decides to hang it up, it isn't on his terms.

Everything is a dead horse during the off season. Draft picks, coaches and trades have been talked to death. But getting rid of Tomlin isn't going to happen. The Rooney's will never admit failure by firing him. So he's here as long as he wants to be.

If you let this idiot, he'll start almost as many redundant, self-serving & dead-horse-beating threads a day as Cooch.

And "general deadness of the MB" in just your 2nd post, Matt? Wasn't that shtick tired 10 years ago on Jim Wexell's board?

I believe that chat was from a few days ago and represents a rare local media guy taking it to Tomlin. As far as dead horse topics, by all means, break new ground.

Unfortunately I I totally agree.

And as far as Jim's board, it is dead as a doornail. They have banned everyone critical of Tomlin, the coaches or the FO. Homer circle jerk there now. It's refreshing to actually read accurate criticisms of the team.

Actually, its a yawn, because if you find a talking head that praises SBWHCMVLT, who cares what a talking head says.

Find one critical? "HA, SEE?!!!".

It is just another way to get you to read their articles during the off season when they don't have games to talk about.

Stop posting nonsense, Ark.

The national guys have caught on, but you're right it is refreshing to see the scales coming off the eyes of some local guys.

Dejan seems to call it straight as well.

Pens season is over and no one gives a **** about the Pirates.

Help an old guy out - which other board are we talking about?

Ron, I'm listening to the Pirates / Rockies game on American radio tonight.......... I'm someone and I care... That's what my mommy always told me............

I hear yaz but I'm all PITTSBURGH so there is at least one here who cares....................

Interesting fact about basesball. In the approximately 3 hr game there is actually ONLY 18minutes of true action.........

Jim Wexell's board, which used to be Scout but is now owned by 247 sports I think.

Coach & Matt were staples over there of never, ever contributing a cent, but using the majority of the bandwidth.

To be fair, it's like the Stoudt/Malone/Blackledge/Campbell/Brister years wasteland over there without those ADHD egomaniacs, though.

I left Jim's site myself a couple years ago. Just too many payments and not enough "Answer Man" articles and the like. But it's always been pretty dead in the offseason, like any other site. Footballcorner, heinzsight & Yancy Thigpen were pillars of excellent insight/analysis and information, and I see they still post there, so it's worth going to now and then.

That's funny, pretty much. But you get a nugget or two still from some of the old guard, which is still worth logging on in my opinion.

Well, there is plenty of bandwidth now. What was your handle there?

im sure the quotes would be relevant if they said tomlin was super duper great

Its interesting how the local media will pile on a particular player and now it looks like all eyes are on Tomlin with all the pressure following the Bell/Brown fallout. We need this coach to adapt and improve. His gameplan's have routinely been **** and the in game adjustments have been worse. They've won because they have been talented and have a franchise QB who can make plays. Now is the time for coaching to come together and mold this unit into a 7 time Super Bowl champion. I have high hopes but I know my hopes have been dashed by the standard Tomlin ****** let downs in seasons past.

Jeepers............... Some here act as if they want more than a NON-losing season...............SSssshhhheeeeeessss

Yup. Steeler fans are spoiled. They expect to go to the playoffs with a HOF QB, one of the best WRs in the league, one of the best OLs and a defense filled with high draft picks. Stupid fans. Only great teams like the Ravens make the playoffs.
