Duck is the starter,

So, if Duck takes them to the playoffs and then gets the win in the Super Bowl, does Ben get his job back?

Outside of being chummy and wordsmith with the media, Tomlin knows how to keep his job. If he want with Rudy and lost twice to the Browns missing the playoffs because of it, the left over fence sitters on whether he should say or go would quickly be in the get rid of him camp.

I was pretty certain Duck would start next week for this reason.

Tomlin might say he gives us the best chance to win right now. Yes, but you were late on the QB with last week. And why did it take this long to figure that out?

Rudolph should be done. If Duck doesn't play well, play Lynch next not Rudloph. I've already seen the Rudy play 8 times and it was awful on nearly every performance.

Even after editing it, Coach seems to have lost his grammatical edge. Not that he had good linguistics before.

Saying Tomlin is making a QB decision to keep his job, is like saying you know the Flat Earth believers are right.

Play Lynch?....who doesn’t know the playbook? Your idiocy has no bounds.

I already showed you stuff that Rudy was living on defensive scores and defensive turnovers in his favor.

No need to show you stats or 3rd party opinions, you can look that up for yourself. I already showed that Rudy doen;t rate among the top 32 QB's. His rating on imprint parts of the game is in 40's and 50's in some areas.

One guy is too easy to sack, throws it high and low, and can't hit a moving target.

The other guy can at least escape the rush to throw it away, and has shown a better ability to hit receivers down field.

Of course there is no need for you to show anything, because you either make up or plagiarize someone else’s opinion.

On deep passes, MR is completing 23.7% and DH is completing 20.0%. Now in fairness, the website didn't say what constitutes a deep pass, my guess is 20+. But IF those numbers are correct, it would appear that neither has much of an ability to hit receivers down field, although Hodges' sample size is much smaller, so I would say the jury is out on him until we can see him practice a few full weeks as a starter, get the reps and get used to playing with the 1's as well as getting more time to adjust to the speed of the game. With any luck, it will slow down for him and he will be able to put up at least respectable numbers consistently. I think it would be unfair to expect a pro bowl performance as it is unlikely to happen.

Wrong Coach. Devin Bush had a fumble return for a TD in that game. The Steelers also had a couple INT's that set up scores. It's a team game.

You are correct. My point though Is the Steelers move the bell better with Duck

Thanks???

Pay specific close attention to the red text...your opening statement.

Now, let's take a look at your next set of drunkard babbling - see bold underlined words. Huh???

Methinks your cathode ray tube TV is affecting your brain...

Just a very busy day.

Like another poster pointed out, it’s the lack of pass threat that is killing the run game. Defense is loading the box and playing downhill.

“Rudolph was a siting Duck in the pocket.”

Hodges is not.

Since getting knocked out he has sucked. DH sucks a little less.
Imagine our record of they dont make that trade for Mincah

I almost wish we woulda kept Dobbs, he could run and that was at least some kind of weapon.

I was highly pissed when they traded Dobbs

watched Dobbs when he was a Vol. He showed regression and wasn't that good on the field when the games counted.

Way to move those goal posts there Coach. You know, it’s ok to be wrong. It happens to everyone. Some more than others. It’s ok.

Ok my point was Rudy as the starter was very lucky to get turnovers that lead to short fields and defensive scores. That remains. No goal pick Star were moved I just forgot the defensive score you mentioned in the Chargers game.

Our defense is so good i think we can make the playoffs and win a game with Duck provided the OC gets it right. Watch what a Whyte and Cain can do. They open up the offense with speed and playmaking ability.

I also think Duck can get better with a few games under his belt. Not Ben’s long term successor, rather a good cheap plan B who can win games until A successor can be found.

You understand that in the Chargers game, Duck was the beneficiary of the things you claim made Rudolph lucky. Bush recovered a fumble and scored. The first interception gave the Steelers the ball at the Chargers 40, and they got a TD off of it. The second interception gave the Steelers the ball inside the Chargers 10, but they knelt on it to run out the clock and end the game.

Devlin Hodges has all my best wishes to play great. I hope nothing but the best for him, because his success helps the team success. He may well have some intangibles that help the team. Players are pointing to his calm relaxed attitude. From what I've seen he has a little shiftiness that might help. Other than that, I cannot see anything in the throws he has made or his numbers to tell me things will improve substantially. But a change is fair after the last two or three performances by Rudolph. Wish old Cool Shades would have taken a similar tact with a couple other guys Like Uncle Jarvis.

Ouch.

Well they certainly have experience with QB's that can't read defense and make poor decisions. Like really they won one shity game, Sunday is the SB. I don't give a **** about the rest of the year. Win Sunday and put a beat down on those *******. 15 years of kicking their ***** twice a year, they win one game and think they are top shelf.

Eh, Dobbs was not a good QB. I suppose his running ability was there, but he couldn't even hit the check downs.

Aside from a few off passes, Hodges has done nothing to make me think he doesn’t have the potential to be a good QB. He seems to have pocket awareness and is not phased by pressure. Not to be an ***, but something about his personality and presence on the field reminds me of a poor mans Brett Favre. Mason Rudolph doesn’t remind me of anyone that actually had a career in the NFL unfortunately. He is painfully slow at making decisions and when he does, his pass timing is way late...

Good luck to Duck. Maybe he can involve the team going to the playoffs after missing this year.

I just want our guys to go out there and play hard (and fair) and win the game. Those of you who want a "revenge" game usually by questionable hits, don't win. The STEELERS need "Ws" more than revenge and I hope the team plays that way.

Salute the nation

Ha! I played a Christmas jazz gig today at the Birmingham Airport ( not far from Samford University ) and I sat right below this pic. It's a sign y'all! Go Steelers!

I hope the duck kicks their *****. I also think MR was still consussed when he faced the turds. It definitely put him at a disadvantage. As many have stated he was progressing up until the KO. ******* Ravens.
